Absolutely delicious food. Highly recommend if you want a diner style atmosphere. The server was very attentive and reasonably priced.

Overlooked gem in Highland Springs. Came in for breakfast with YoungerSon while waiting for someone to show up at the nearby high school. Driven past this place many times and glad we finally stopped in. Friendly service, fresh food cooked well, and a clean rustic atmosphere combined for a great morning. Typical diner fare but done well. My son had a sausage omelet and rye toast which he deemed "really good." I tried one of the "slams" ... the Super Slam, which came with 2 eggs, biscuit with sausage gravy, bacon AND sausage links, and hash browns (I substituted grits). Could have used more sausage in the gravy but otherwise a good meal to start the day. Also a great price. Both meals plus drinks came to $13. Will definitely be back. If nothing else, I want to try the salt herring special!

Far be it from me (and yes, it's from me, not for me) to criticize someone's review but reading through the other reviews someone put this place needs a "facelift" Dude.

Our waitress was attentive, friendly and helpful. I ordered the jerk chicken breast with fries and green beans. It was delicious! I thought about dessert but I had to go back to work and didn't want to go into a food coma. Overall great experience and everyone enjoyed their food.

It can get a little pricy, especially when you want to try all of the things, but the portions were plentiful and tasted delicious. We started with the cheese stick roulette, where they apparently prep a bunch of different cheeses for cheese sticks earlier in the week, and then just randomly grab six to deep fry when you order it. You have no idea what it is, they have no idea what it is. Pretty fun and delicious and we love cheese, so total win. We ended up cutting them in half just to check what they were before eating because the kids do not like anything remotely spicy and pepper jack is one of the cheeses, so we just had to verify it wasn't that so they could eat it and hubs and I ate those ones instead. I thought the tomato coulis it was served with was stellar, and the fruity jam was also amazing. I could not decide which one was better for dipping the cheesesticks in, and I ended up keeping both condiments when the cheesesticks were gone so I could dip my fries in them. A fantastic choice, they were both great with the fries. Which I might add, are AWESOME! They are scoopable fries. So... like a cross between potato skins and potato wedges. They were both crispy and soft and very unique and so worth the trip. They also use the cheese dip instead of just shredded cheese, so it stays creamy and gooey. All of the burgers sounded awesome and it took us a very long time to decide what we wanted (I had been looking at the menu days in advance to make sure I could decide) and we opted for the Southern Gentleman (pimento cheese, hot honey and fried chicken) and the PBJ and I can't decide which one I liked more. They were both completely different and completely delicious. If I had to make a recommendation... I'd say bring a friend, order one of each and split them like hubs and I did. Choices are for suckers. Kiddos opted for the cheese fries that he came for (which come with bacon, btw) and the kiddos cheeseburger meal, and they both loved them. The service was great too, even when this place was pretty darn crowded on a weekday lunch hour. Also, don't be fooled by the storefront driving by, this restaurant is waaaaaaaay bigger on the inside than it appears on the outside. There was plenty of seating. The music was a touch too loud, but they also had some yummy sounding specialty drinks, as well as a bunch of local beers. My kids have been asking to come back pretty much since we left the restaurant.

We waited in the indoor area that is connected to a cute store. The walls had graffiti. The waiting area had billiard table, playing cards, other merchandise like t-shirts and some other vintage items. The Moore Street Big Breakfast lives up to its name. It was indeed big: 3 eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns and grits. It comes with your choice of 2 pancakes, toast, biscuit, or English muffin. The veggie omelet was also very nice. Great diner food and service.

The wait staff were nice and checked in with us throughout service. They were busy, and we did have to ask again for a couple things we asked for when we ordered. Seeing as they were busy, it was understandable. The parking can be difficult to find, but it's not too bad on most days. I ordered a swiss mushroom burger with onion rings on the side, a coke and a mexican mule. I liked the burger, especially the onion rings! I would probably ask for the mushrooms to be a little bit more caramelized though. Serving size was filling and the drink was perfectly strong. They have an extensive menu, and I would love to come back to try more dishes! The cafe decor is retro, and it makes the restaurant feel nostalgic. I think it's great for a group hang if you have a large group, too. There was a big group there when I was there and a few smaller groups of people.
