I always seem to pass this place throughout my travels without actually going in. Small little square building with a lot to fit 3 cars. Inside the place a countertop along the walls for eating in but you can also take out. I decided to try their Southwestern and Chili and Cheese dogs. Both dogs had lots of flavor, taste is very exceptional. Yes, hot dogs are in its simplest form easy to make, but not in my house i keep half of these items in my pantry: pico de gallo, jalapeno peppers, chili etc. But this cook seems to fancy it enough for more people to come in line. Being from out of state made ordering a bit nerve wrecking as order service here is done at an extremely fast pace and I felt rushed and didn't have enough time to look at the menu but if you are a local or a regular than this place could definitely become a go to. Quaint little shack, with just a few bar stools inside. Parking lot is attached in the back as well making this a convenient stop. Everything we tasted was absolutely amazing, definitely not your average hot dog stand. Such unique flavors and ingredient options. I was pleasantly surprised to see kielbasa dogs on the menu. For first one, so perfectly grilled and never had onion sauce, but got say it's a mix of sweet,sour and savory. Onions were so soft and bun was good. For the danish, great grilled dog and the remoulade sauce was tangy and savory. Onions were more grilled than crispy as per menu. Today was my first visit and I am definitely coming back!!! The owner is so friendly, he treated me to my first hot dog from his establishment. His food is like a drug. I am hooked!!! The store is very unassuming it looks like a hotdog stand from the 70's and I LOVE it. It almost always seems to be crowded but he knows what he is doing so the line moves very very quickly. He is only open until 3:00, and is a cash only business. There is an ATM so if you don't have cash he's got that covered too. If nothing else, drop in and say hi, he'll make you laugh. Holydog is a little hole in the wall that is nothing great to look at, but as soon as you walk in you know. You can't help but get a little overwhelmed by the menu. Who puts sauteed pineapple on a kielbasa? Remoulade, mustard, ketchup, pickle & crispy onions on a dog, what?!? But it all works and it works amazingly well. Do not pass go, do not collect $200, without getting the Girlfriend treatment. Fries were super hot & fresh, and well salted - definitely seemed hand cut & not frozen. Holydog is a great place for hot dogs and sausage in Middletown, New York. Though it is a small place, the hot dogs and sausage are truly big on flavor. It is also a rather humble place. There is nothing fancy about this place, but in their defense, there is absolutely nothing fancy about a hot dog. That does not mean that a hot dog is not a culinary wonder. I love hot dogs and I also love how with each topping, it can become a whole different taste profile. Hot dogs with chili are a different thing to me than a hot dog with sauerkraut. And if you have one of each, we'll, that is two winning tastes. One of the real winners here is one of their sausage sandwiches. Their sausage called the Girlfriend Treatment is something truly fantastic. It is a sausage (sweet or spicy Italian sausage or a chorizo) topped with peppers, onions, chili, cheese, pico de gallo, cilantro and Chipotle mayonnaise is truly an epic meal and one that will leave you full and bragging about it to all of your friends. The service here is also friendly and professional. The owner is also proud of his place and the food he offers. Rightfully so. All in all, a complete hit and one that I give five stars to. read more
