He effectively plans out a strategy to get you where you want/deserve to be, and then he executes. At every step along the way he explains what needs to be done and why, and is not afraid to debate with his clients to make sure the difficult process moves along toward a successful conclusion. I can say while we disagreed sometimes on the pace and direction of where we were going, he always took the time to explain to me what we were doing and why, and discuss and debate the important issues so that I can confidently state we arrived at the best legal conclusion for a very difficult situation. In court, he is brilliant at explaining the salient points and pointing out lies/discrepancies offered by the opposing party (which happened frequently in my case). We never lost a single of point of substance in the entire process, and his views on what a likely successful settlement would be were pretty much right 12 months before we finally got there after beating back all the crud from the other side. David's primary paralegal, Candice, is a joy to work with. She keeps everything completely organized and every time we went to a court hearing, she had everything right at her fingertips. Could not have been ultimately successful without this team. If you are in this difficult process and not happy with how your case is proceeding, highly recommend you give David a call and see if you can get your case straightened out and your interests protected That's what I did.

I pointed out that I was talking when she cut us off and would like to finish what I was saying. She stood up and started yelling saying "I'm the mediator!" My attorneys firm and myself were appalled by her behavior. Terri was constantly making issues on things that both parties had agreed on and complicating items unnecessarily. She called multiple appraisals on my truck ridiculous and made up a valuation based on no factual data. She behaved like a short tempered entitled judge that isn't capable of listening. we made significant progress when she was distanced from the conversation.

She assess the circumstances and details of the case, listens attentively to both parties, and navigates the back and forth with a clear concise vision that aims to satisfy both parties. Overall, I'd recommend Terri White as a fair, thorough, and understanding mediator. PRO TIP: Understand ahead of time that compromises will most likely be made by both parties. Be realistic in your expectations. Have your key points prepared in advance. Have documentation on hand. Understand mediators and judges find zero value in hearsay. Facts speak volume. Do right by your kids. Put them first at all costs and think of their future. Exiting the family law system and not returning is the end goal.

Mark Lane is finishing-up my divorce case. He has been a true professional. I've read so many…read morereviews here that put him down for a number of things - not returning calls, not getting what the client wanted, etc. If I may, I'd like to offer perspective on these things, based on my experiences with Mr. Lane and his office: First, some background. I'm finalizing a divorce where I ended up losing an animal that was so very important to me. My wife chose to use my dog as a ploy to hurt me during this divorce process, and I will no longer ever see the little guy that helped me keep my sanity on many dark and horrible nights. Having said that, Mark also negotiated a settlement for me that keeps my head well above water financially in a time where I most need it. What I'm trying to illustrate to you is this: I lost something precious to me during this divorce. It kills me emotionally. However, it's not Mark Lane's fault. I have a role to play in how my life turns out and I accept my portion of responsibility for my marriage and its outcome. It's true that it can be difficult to reach Mr. Lane. However, and this is my personal opinion, Mark is not the kind of attorney that is a hand-holder or a coddler. Make no mistake, that doesn't mean that he doesn't care about you or your case. But it does mean that for some folks, his no-nonsense, let's-just-handle-this approach, can be off-putting. If you need someone to console you constantly and hold your hand, I'd suggest finding another attorney. However, and again this is my opinion, most of those attorneys that are hand-holders are also the ones that may tend to tell you what you want to hear. Why? Because divorce or any family law situation is excruciating at best. There's simply no way to predict what you will get and there's nothing good about the process. The best you can hope for is to survive and come out a better person on the other side. It's your life. You have to own the good, the bad, and the ugly. Don't ever expect to pay someone a sum of money to simply make your problems go away. If you can understand that, you'll never find a better attorney. To sum up my review, I wanted to say "thank you" to Mark Lane and his staff. I wrote this review so that others who need an attorney - the best attorney you can get, in my opinion - would know Mr. Lane's style and his abilities. And, frankly, I felt it necessary to provide a sense of perspective on all the bad reviews he has received.

After an initial court denial from the court, we decided not to continue to pursue the matter, but their office filed suit without consulting with us on the path forward. We asked them to file a non-suit and end the case. That was all they did, yet somehow, they deemed our invoice come to a total of over $3,000. Most of the charges were the communications we needed to make to correct their errors, and of course the filing they neglected to confer with us about, then the non-suit filing. Not once did the attorney have to actually appear in a courtroom. On top of that, their office has ignored the majority of our communication attempts and typically did not respond to our early calls/e-mails for days. This is a very unprofessional office and are run as a money-grab scheme. Do not use Mark Lane.
