During the Christmas holiday I waited patiently in line only to be told they had sold out of my favorite nuts. I asked the lady to please check I the back as I always do when the nuts are not on the shelf. She took a few minutes and came out to announce to me there were none in the back. I politely thanked her and left the store. As I entered my car, I used my phone to call the exact store for pick up. She asked me what I wanted, I told her and asked for several packets. She said to come on in, they have my order. I turned around, went back into the store, told her my name and what I ordered. She looked stunned. The incident confused the ladies, they didn't know what to say. They asked the only dominant male in the store, he kept avoiding eye contact with me, darting in and out the back room, using the confused ladies...one lady, visibly shaken, in her broken English, told me to wait 10 minutes. It took longer than 10 minutes, but out came another lady, looking scared, with my order, Products are good...customer service prejudice. read more

For years we've received the Texas Pecan Company's annual holiday mailer. This year, we decided to pay them an in-person visit. WHY DID WE WAIT SO LONG???? Literally this is a tiny shop for a factory. But it's packed floor to ceiling with amazingly affordable raw nuts, roasted nuts, candy-covered nuts, dried fruit, candy to cover nuts and dried fruit, full tins and tins to fill as you choose. Unbelievable. We made a modest (so we thought) selection. HA! Modest became a full large brown paper sack full by the time we were done. Yet everything totaled under $50. Crazy cheap! We've been eating our way through our purchases and have yet to have something we didn't like. The factory shop is going to be a new stop-in place in our rotation and I doubt we ever buy nuts at the grocery store again. read more

I experienced difficulty ordering from vendors for Christmas 2020. Upon receiving the mailer, for Christmas 2021, I placed orders with the Texas Pecan Company. The reviews from the recipients were fantastic. The orders were received in a timely fashion, the delivery carton was in excellent condition as well as the gifts. You've probably received those little yellow fliers around the holidays and wondered if if would be worth your time making the drive over to this place, well the answer is a thousand times, YES! This is the BEST place in Dallas to by nuts, and the ONLY place I'll by nuts. I've tried groceries stores, side-of-the-road stands, etc., but nothing compares to this place. Go here Mammoth nuts! This place sells the Nuts of the Gods. My first time here. Every year right before the holidays Texas Pecan Co. sends out their famous yellow flyer. Well this year I finally got around to going. They sell pecans, walnuts, almonds, cashews, banana chips, pine nuts, everything. If your a baker this is the place to go get your nuts for pecan pies, fudge, and candied nuts. They're huge, in season, and sweet. I made glazed nuts with pecans and got rave reviews. 4 stars because it was expensive. Ummm yeah $80 on some nuts. Well worth it. I didn't feel so bad, the guy behind me in line had a $200 bill. I placed an order with this company, one part of it was a 5 lb bag of pecans. When it arrived the pecan bag had busted the pecans were all out inside a very filthy box. They were only in a thin baggie like you would use in your kitchen. There was no packing inside the box to protect the shipment so it was bounced around until the bag inside busted. This box looked like someone had packed it up inside a greasy garage. It was really dirty inside and out. I sent two emails asking for a resolution and was ignored. This was my first order and my last. I paid $15 for shipping alone. So almost $80 in the garbage. Do not do business with this company as they could care less about being honest or treating their customers fairly. From now on, I buy pecans from the Houston Pecan Co. Always professional and always kind. Learned an expensive lesson. read more

Today is Sat.Dec.21,2013,rainy, and a little chill in the air-around 1 PM. After several errands left to do,I arrived at Texas Pecan Company,for one last gift.I had been there just a few days prior and purchased $57.05 A tall balding man, with a small graying piggy-pony tail and glasses was arranging and tidying the boxes on the shelves and I asked him if they were all out of #300-10 boxes of nut,he said yes. My next question was,will you be getting any more in by Monday,12/23/13? He said, probably not, but wasn't sure. I went over to the sample table and got 1 teaspoon of chocolate bridge mix,and 1teaspoon of chocolate peanuts. This same man turned to me and shouted,what are you doing,looking at my small plastic plate of approximately, at most,maybe 2oz. of chocolate samples, and I said I'm sampling, and he said 1 teaspoon is enough, in a very huffy tone. I am a 78 year old,90 lbs,white haired,old lady.You would have thought that I had just devoured all the samples on that table. I moved away from him, and he went and stood behind the cashiers,while I stood next to the sample table and stated to everyone that came to the table that I guess you better only get 1 teaspoon of samples because I took 2 teaspoons and was reprimanded,even thou for decades I have spent $30.00 or more a month on nuts at this store. After contemplating what I was going to do since my options were limited,I moseyed back over to the section where I started. A lady was making a list and said,can I help you? I said that I wanted 1 box of #300-10 but I guess they are all out. She was kind enough to say,let me go in the back and make you up one. I was still munching on my samples,and the man with the piggy-pony tail was still eyeing me,standing behind the cashiers. The lady from the back soon reappeared with my box. I thanked her for being so nice and proceeded to the register to check out. I set my sample of about 8 remaining nuts down in order to pay the cashier with my credit card. I said to her;"do you remember my credit card from the other day."She said yes, it had a picture of my dog on it. She processed me out,and as I was signing my receipt, the man with the piggy-pony tail grabbed the plate of remaining samples and threw them in the trash, and I said to him,I wa going to finish them. He did not reply. You talk about rude and having a problem!!!! Not only did he not go in the back and help me out like the lady did,he then pitched my remaining nuts in the trash. So, if you go to Texas Pecan,2850 Satsuma,Dallas,Tx75229 watch out for the sample Nut patrol guy with the piggy-pony tail and glasses. He definitely has a problem. I have referred many people to this company over the past 20 some years, but he was one rude person. I'll remember from now on, that they are not the only nut company in Dallas.
