I tried the family pack with the beef tips, gravy, 2 sides and salad. The beef tips and gravy came separate. The beef I believe was just cut up stake and it was not tender. If you have this on the menu, then it should be prepared together and allow it time to seamer. I also order a half gallon sweet tea. This was my favorite out of all that ordered. I ended up here because some coworkers wanted to eat lunch over here. I'm not sure why because this place was so packed it was unbelievable. But I relented and decided to join them. I'll be the first admit nothing on the menu really caught my eye. I ended up getting the chicken critters which are basically fried chicken tenders with a baked sweet potato. My husband ordered pork chops they came with a side of gravy which he enjoyed, a baked potato and salad with honey mustard. Perfect drinks and fast service. The reason for the 4 stars was a staff member in uniform was sitting at a table with someone she knew and tasting the food then getting up without washing hands and taking care of another table. In this day, post Covid, where businesses struggle to find good, honest help from employees with a good work ethic- Texas Roadhouse in Alexandria, LA surpasses all expectations I would put on a "chain restaurant ". I usually bring a small group with me from Natchez, MS (75 miles away). We are always blown away by the friendliness of the staff, the consistency & quality of our meal, especially for the price!! I usually arrive in Alexandria several hours before our meal to run various errands/ shop for essentials. I always stop by TR to talk to a manager on duty to make sure my favorite Prime Rib (rare) can be put aside and held for me and anyone I'm with who wants the same. Today, the manager I talked to was Mr. Johnny. He guaranteed me my favorite steak would be available, and also came up to us @ the bar as sipped on a drink. He helped us secure a table and went that extra mile to ensure we were well taken care of. Kayleigh (sp?) (bartender) was beyond friendly & accommodating!! She was exceptional! Once seated- our waitress, Emma, was absolutely fantastic!! Warm, friendly/ engaging, personable, caring, & attentive!!!! I've dined in 5 star restaurants that the service was not near as incredible as what we experienced this evening! Managers like Johnny are far and few between. His staff is to be commended as well. We are very disappointed in Texas Roadhouse. We have been going there for years and here lately the food quality has really declined. we use to get the sirloin, then we upgraded to the strip. the strip used to be tender and silky, but now there is no difference between the sirloin and the strip. It all taste like sirloin. In the last year we just have not been satisfied with the steak as we have in the past. We have decided that we would start exploring other options for dinner when we go to Alexandria. I know that they have a lot of business there and I am just wondering if people have seen the decline in the quality of the steaks. This place has delicious meat. I am only removing a star because of confusion and loss of trust. We ordered like usual and our waitress wrote down our order. I ordered a 16oz sirloin medium rare and my husband ordered a 16 oz prime rib medium rare and my daughters ordered steak and rib and steak and chicken combos. All medium rare on the steaks. The waitress came back and let us know that the prime rib was only medium, medium well or well done. According to their chart medium means a warm pink center so I told my husband he might like the medium as long as it still had pink. When it was delivered all of our food was great tasting except the very dry prime rib. He tried to eat it but it was like dry pot roast. We got our waitresses attention and told her that it was not the medium she said it would be. The manager came and explained that it was because their machine was down and he apologized. He then pointed out that I received a ribeye but I told him I ordered a sirloin. This concerned me because I wondered if they switched things up a lot in their kitchen... trust issues. Anyways they attempted to charge me for the ribeye which was 4$ more. We fixed that. They gave us a 12 ounce ribeye for My husband and charged us for that instead of the prime rib. So they corrected their mistake. Anyways it was entirely confusing how they cannot figure out the order. We ended on a satisfied note. Dreadful experience! I am in town often for business and this has been my go to place to eat. After last night, I will not be back. I placed a to go order and was told it would be ready to pick up in 1 1/2 hours. Having just flown in from another state, I was exhausted and ready to eat and call it a day. I arrived on time for curbside pickup but all the spots were taken. I sat in the side of the curb for almost 20 minutes before anyone even came out to check on any of the vehicles. I was directed to a handicapped spot in front of the restaurant where the girl told me to wait. I finally received my order, half an hour later. Exhausted and hungry, I got back to my hotel to find that my order was wrong. They forgot my salad and dressing. Irritated, I called and was promptly placed on hold. The girl never picked the phone back up so I called back. This time she did not answer. I called back again and and asked her not to place me on hold - that I just wanted to come back and pick up my salad. In a raised voice, she said, "I hear you but you're just going to have to talk to a manager" and placed me on hold again. By now I was furious! She kept leaving me on hold for long periods of time. I called back again and this time a manager answered. He heard nothing I said because he told me to come back and sit down in the restaurant. I told him that all I wanted was my salad!!! He placed me on hold!!! I got in my car and drove all the way back with my food. I was told to wait at curbside but I was tired of waiting (mind you, I was STILL on hold!) Another manager approached me and asked what I would like. Again, all I wanted was my salad - a HOUSE salad! I waited for what seemed like forever until I finally got a house salad. I returned the other food I ordered since everything was cold by now. My check was not adjusted, nothing was done - I was given a bland salad with a side of chewy, overcooked chicken. I tossed it all. I ended up spending over $35 for an evening of harassment and aggravation! The staff there is untrained, immature, and they do not take pride in anything they do.
