My son ordered Steak del Monica Medium Rare with Loaded Baked Potato. I ordered Prime Rib Medium with Loaded Potato and a Salad. Both of us were disappointed with the Steaks were cooked properly but both were at least half fat. Extremely disappointed. Should have complained but we didn't. The restaurant when compared to when Outback first opened has decreased in my opinion. The service was super slow for cocktails. The food came out in a timely manner but no drink refills. The table screen to reorder drinks didn't allow me to change my cocktail since the first pins koala (with no edible koala as advertised) was so sweet it was like trying to drink melted vanilla pudding with lots of cinnamon) My husband had to ask for a glass of water twice! The steaks were average...not delicious like in the beginning. Edible but not impressive. The margarita had so much salt I didn't drink it after a huge swallow of what tasted like salt water. Finally this place needs a total makeover if they'd like to keep up with their neighboring steak house TLH where the parking lot AND its neighboring lot was FULL which is the reason we came to Outback bc we were pressed for time so didn't want to wait to be seated at the other. Maybe add background music for a little ambiance and dim the lights until an update can be done. I travel frequently to the Alexandria area and am always searching for a decent place to eat dinner. The locals I know give suggestions but none seemed like something I would like. But after this last visit to Outback, I have a feeling this will be my regular spot. If you have been to one Outback, you have been to them all, right? Wrong! In fact, I have even been to this Outback before and had a totally different experience. This experience though was awesome and I will tell you why. My servers, Ivy and Lourdes, were the best servers anyone could have ever asked for. In addition to being prompt and professional, they were incredibly friendly and enjoyable to be around. My co-worker and I were tired from being on the road all day and were wanting a meal. We got a meal, but we also had our attitudes lifted and that is a direct result of Ivy and Lourdes. I cannot say enough great things about these two. They made the night. Since most people read restaurant reviews so they know about the food, I will mention it here. The food was typical Outback fare. That is to say that it was very good and a good value for what we received. My steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly which is what I would expect from this chain. This was definitely a treat on Halloween day! Our entire visit was perfect! The hostess immediately greeted us when we arrived and located a table for us. He took his time and sterilized everything. The table had been obviously clean before we arrived, but he wiped it down again. As soon as we were seated the server appeared and took our order. Two of us stopped in for lunch at 1 p.m. Staff were SUPER friendly, all of them, hence the third star. There were only two tables of people in there and that should have been a clue. Truly, the sparse parking lot should have been. The Outback bread was delivered with soft "butter" and some ill-shaped honey "butter." It looked like it had been melted and re-refrigerated. Hmmmm. The bread was dry and no plates were offered. We ordered from the lunch menu and were disappointed and left wanting, literally. The fried chicken breast was cooked well, maybe too done but still very acceptable. Be ready, that and ONE side (a choice of French fries or seasonal veggies) was it. You could upgrade to a house salad; in doing so, however, be prepared for a lone piece of chicken on your plate when the entree arrives. Of course, to get your money's worth, two glasses of tea and one to go were needed. Nah, mate. We'll wait for the clock to chime three and head to the Texas Roadhouse next time. On one hand, that's just late for lunch. On the other, we might walk IN starving, but we WON'T walk out still hungry like we did today. C'mon Outback! Do better! read more

While on the road traveling we stopped here for dinner. I have to say everyone was so friendly!! My husband ordered his usual, ribeye, medium rare. It was perfect! I tried the filet medallions for the first time, medium rare. They were clearly overcooked, more like well done. Our waiter, Zachary, was awesome. He immediately took them back and the mgr started another order. It took some time, but I had veggies and bread. The mgr brought them to me and they were much better. Just visited for a late lunch (around 2pm) and the service was phenomenal. Had my bread on the table quickly and drinks refilled before I even realized the drinks were low. When my family of 5 went to eat; it was a Christmas gift to our grandparents. And it was a nightmare ! Our server had snot (literally a big ball of white snot coming out of his nose) bringing me my food! Then no refills, all of our food was wrong, staff was RUDE! I had to get up for any sauces , refills etc to get it myself. I couldn't even eat because it was cold, then snot boy made us all sick! An we only got 25% off the bill was still over $150!! It has been several years since we last ate here; it will several more years before we do so again. We were seated without silverware, ordered drinks and an appetizer. Drinks, bread, and appetizer was brought out quick enough, but we had no silverware or small plates with which to eat. Salads came and still no silverware. A few more minutes of waiting and, after the third or fourth time requesting silverware, we finally got it. We had rather lengthy wait on our main meal, and when it finally came, the steaks were not flavorful at all. I was informed she had a panic attack because of the busy hours, and girl I've been there before- and she did awesome under that much pressure. the food was great! I dont usually like outback because im not much of a steak person but my boyfriend picked it so we went. The bread is my favorite part (like seriously keep it coming) Im a shy person and i was too scared to ask for more bread and the waitress comes to ask if we need more and i say "yes i was too scared to ask im shy and i love the bread" she comes back with 2 loaves for me and it made my day. The whole time the place was busy but she was always super polite and funny always checking on us but not being annoying about it like some usually do. After a full day of travel, we were pretty wiped out and wanted to grab dinner before heading to our hotel. There were mixed reviews on this restaurant regarding service and food quality. We were pretty nervous but it was nearly 9pm and did not have many options. It turns out our dinner and service was great! The only reason I did not give it a "5" is because when we were first sat, the table and booth bench seats had not been cleaned- there was grease on them. But I went to the hostess and she took care of it right away. The rest of our experience was terrific. Our waitress was at our table in minutes.
