Went to texas roadhouse while visiting from houaton texas. Shawn was great and was very efficient and fast while serving us.

Party of 4 visited Easter Sunday. We were first in line, waiting at the door as we heard it was great and we didn't want to be part of the expected LUNCH RUSH on a Holiday. I ordered Country Fried steak, commenting that I loved cream gravy on my steak and mashed potatoes; I emphasized the gravy twice. Salads and bread were enjoyed (great items) and the steaks were delivered. Waitress THEN said "we don't have cream gravy today" and offered brown gravy which I reluctantly accepted. My country fried steak was overcooked, the breading was so hard it could not be cut easily, and the meat was not edible, I struggled trying to chew it. I did not want to send it back as I am 81 years old and have always heard bad things happen when items are sent back and I didn't want to risk it. I left most on the plate. My wife ordered a 14 oz rib eye, MEDIUM RARE but it was MEDIUM WELL; it was tough, not tender so she ate only half. Again, don't send it back due to knowledge and experience. Son ordered full rack of ribs that were overcooked and didn't fall from the bone from being too tender, the meat crumbled off the bone because it was burned; it was actually crispy. He ate most but was disappointed. Party #4 cleaned his plate but he will eat anything. I was bewildered that the waitress didn't tell me initially that there was no cream gravy since I emphasized that I enjoyed cream gravy on my steak and potatoes. I could have ordered another menu item if I had known there was no cream gravy. The way the country fried steak, ribs and ribeye items were cooked is sad; we came to Texas Roadhouse due to great reputation but we went home terribly disappointed. We live in Elgin, SC (about 12 miles) and the route to your restaurant on Two Notch Road in Columbia has many other restaurants and I wish I had stopped elsewhere. It is terrible to be disappointed on such a festive day, especially since we arrived early so not to be involved in the Holiday rush but that was not a good choice to facilitate things. Due to the other restaurants in and around Columbia, we likely will not return to Texas Roadhouse. I am not asking for anything but noting my dissatisfaction after spending $120 read more

Average experience- personally I feel this place is overhyped but came to celebrate a coworkers birthday. Being we came on a Saturday it just felt extremely rushed, the place was crowded. I will say my steak was cooked to perfection though I wish it was a bit more seasoned and the sides were lukewarm at best which was a shame. Would I come back- only if I got invited by a friend but wouldn't be my first pick. read more

I don't not recommend eating here if you have a party larger than 6. We asked for water with lemon and only one glass came with lemon. No other lemon came. We had to ask 5 times for rolls. We were notified 5 minutes before the food came that they were out of hotdogs for the kids. We err almost done eating when the kids meals showed up. The chicken I ordered came out dry with hard edges. It was covered with gravy which didn't help. The server stopped a couple of times and was flagged down many times. Finished plates sat at the end of the table for most of the meal. They don't clear as they go. If someone else hadn't picked this location for dinner, I would have eaten somewhere else. I usually love Texas Roadhouse... today was. Disaster. Kayla was our waitstaff. She was no where to be found. The food was just OK. The rice was horrible mushy, but we could not tell her she never came back. No a good experience for an almost two hundred dollar tab. I notified our waiter, William and he told us we would have to pay using our credit card. I gave him our credit card and he left and returned after about five minutes. He said he fixed the self-service electronic payment system and returned our credit card and asked us to use the self service system. On our receipt, our waiter's name was changed. There is no such thing as customer service here. They won't sit you until the entire party gets here. That's fine if they had indoor seating in the wait area, they don't. As someone disabled, this restaurant is not handicap accessible or friendly. It was over 90° outside but that's the only seating available for waiting. Took my wife to this restaurant yesterday because I had a gift card. While our waitress was fine, the food took way to long to get to us and when it got there, the fries were cold and and my burger was not medium like I asked. It had way too much pink in it, like it was rare. I lost my appetite. Plus there were gnats flying around. I hope the one in harbison does a better job. I feel I wasted money and a gift card. It was only a 15-20 minute wait but turned out to be very busy. This was not a great visit.

The food and service is just as good as most Texas Road house chains I've dined at. It's just a matter of picking your timing to dine or take out. On the weekdays it's not bad, especially for to go; never had to wait. On Fridays and the weekends though, I'd be wary of waiting additional minutes because they get extremely full. This past weekend, I had to wait almost an additional 30 mins for my To Go order to be fulfilled because they were that backed up! One way to put it is I guess their food, especially their bread is that good! Highly recommend taking advantage of their online ordering system through the app if you're doing a To Go order. Even on their busiest days, it certainly will save you time. I've seen customers wait extended periods of time in their cars or outside because they ordered at the restaurant on a weekend; save yourself the trouble. read more

We came in as a walk-in for 3:40pm and were told the wait was for 10 mins for a clean table. We were told to stand at the red sign, no issue. Another couple came in several minutes later and were told to stand at the black sign. The issue is when one of the hostesses went around my friend and I to seat the couple that came after us. Once texted telling us they were ready for us. I loved the atmosphere... Although a slight bright, extra noisy due to the amount of people inside and music was medium loud... I couldn't wait for great tasting steak. I myself used to be a full time chef, running a few very nice restaurants and creating new recipes. I know by experience what a nice restaurant should be and this was not it. Even tho all back house employees were wearing gloves to handle food... I saw some eating on the line while taking food out from the heat lamps. I saw one waiter bring out food to a table while finish eating something. It appeared that everyone was either a teenager or in their 20's. I never saw any employee over 30. I know this was a pre judgement call but it appeared that most were hired from the projects. Of course.. it is off of Two Notch and interstate #77. I observed the grill cook for the steaks who had died dreads ( I know.. pre judging right... Let me taste the food and see.). Well he was slamming the steaks down like a piece of meat ( no pun intended) and was arguing with anther employee. Okay so I ordered a 20 oz. bone in Ribeye with saute'ed onions, and topped with shrimp. Sweet tea was good just a little sweet, the appetizer also good... The hot sauce they made was so good, I had to take that home. It came in a half cup ramiken. Okay I do Ordered steak fries and salad. My brother order a Ribeye and ribs with broccoli and mash potatoes and gravy. Same plates and serving style as cracker barrel. Same food as far as I'm concerned. My fries were not crispy. In fact the larger ones weren't done. The salad ok but below standards so plain. Then the steak order medium rare... You know grillmarks but pink on the one side.... I cut into it at different areas. Very. and I mean very fatty meat not high quality,,, one side was not grilled long enough.. mostly red I was so disappointed but had it sent back and I had it changed to a medium.... Can't mess that up right? The waitress took forever but when I finally got it was medium to well and charred. Spent $43. and will never come again so bad. What was supposed to be a festive night was quite the opposite. One more thing I would like to mention... I never saw a manager of any kind. Had an amazing experience. The speed and efficiency of the service was great, and even though it was loud due to the hustle and bustle, it wasn't too bad. My husband ordered a prime rib, but ribeye came out instead, and when we pointed it out to the manager, she was so kind and helpful. His food was back out in 5 minutes! Food is always good. Service is always on point as well. Only issues this time was front and being seated. I checked in online, checked in at restaurant and they somehow forgot me and passed me over. After seeing several people I saw getting seated who came in well after me, I asked about timing and how much longer. They seemed confused and a little shocked. They apologized and stated they thought they had sat my party already. Even with that, they put me immediately in queue and I had to wait another 5 or 6 minutes to be sat. I would have thought they would immediately sit me but they put me in the back of the queue line. It was a mistake and normally they are very good.
