Take out Smokehouse Burger* with Steak Fries

Texas Roadhouse is supposed to be a staple of Americana eateries so I decided to give them a try for the first time. I placed the order and a 30 min pickup time turned into a hour. No explanations were given for the wait. Weird. The disappointing part was when I got home and the plate barely had any fries to go with the burger. The burger was meh, the sauce they put on it was bit off putting but wait killed the visit for me. Hopefully they will be willing to get their act together so I can visit again because the rolls were the best part of the meal.

Randomly came here after some shopping. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is heavily themed with rustic interiors and western decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My server was Charlsea and she was an absolute sweetheart. She was attentive, knowledgeable and was very helpful when I needed to send an alcoholic beverage back. For some reason they have very strict rules about beverage returns, so the manager had to get involved but she was happy to remake my drink personally because "it did not look right". I had the $11.99 Sirloin lunch special and my partner had chicken critters. I enjoyed it!

I have always been a fan of Texas Roadhouse. The main thing that attracts me to them, is that all of their ingredients are made from scratch. The definitely lived up to the "Legendary Service" that they are known for. Our server, Stephen, could not have been more hospitable. For starters he was super sweet, and incredibly patient, b/c while my friend and I were familiar with the restaurant, we took a good minute to make up our mind. We started off with the $5 margaritas. We ordered the Hurricane and the Sangria Margarita. Those did not disappoint. We didn't get any appetizers b/c that delicious fresh baked bread already had us halfway full. So for our entrees we ordered the Fried Catfish, that came with fries, and we ordered the Fall Off The Bone Ribs....now y'all know I am GREEDY, so I ordered a side of mac and cheese, a shrimp skewer, and a small Caesar salad with it....knowing good and well I wasn't going to be able to finish any of it (took it home) but the few bites I got in were so delicious!! It has been some time since I was last at a Texas Roadhouse, I was happy to see everything still tastes as good as I remember it.

    Health report

Food was ok. Service good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very loud music and crowded.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Healthy reports are 86 , 80 , 77 are the 3 reports. Many workers running hands through their hair. Lots of long hair and nobody wears a hair net in kitchen area.

I would recommend the RIBS Waitress service - great Wait time to be seated - no reservations walk in and was seated Wait time for food - 20-30mins Food - Steaks and ribs etc [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance- nice spot to grab a quick lunch or have dinner with family[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall I would come back for the ribs but anything was great! Me and my family had a good time. The only thing I would say was it was my mother birthday and I ask the waiter to the side if he could come back and say the happy birthday song thing that they do.. he didn't come back to the happy birthday thing but then again I don't know if you had to order desserts to get it.

The Texas Roadhouse of today is different than the pre-pandemic Roadhouse. Noticeably absent are peanuts. You can buy a little bag, but no more nuts in a barrel with shells on the floor. Also different is a dish with the unfortunate name, 'Roadkill.' Used to be smothered in mushrooms and onions. Now, they're almost undetectable. BUT, the patty was nicely seasoned and cooked medium rare as I requested. T. had no complaints about his 6 oz filet. It too was cooked as he wanted. Texas Roadhouse, warranting a bit more than three stars, has a good menu. Entrees are reasonably priced, and come with two sides, including a choice of salad. Some complaints. (Am I being picayune?) Two out of our three wineglasses were dirty. My baked potato had seen better days. And the presentation, with plates splattered in drippings and grease, was somewhat unappealing. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our early dinner. Service was great and we were seated quickly.

"Long Island" or whatever they made, because it is not a Long Island

IF YOU ARE COMING HERE FOR DRINKS.. "All Alcoholic beverage sells are final" - did not see this sign until after they told me this. They added this recently because there have been TOO many complaints about drinks not being made correctly. I ordered a Long Island and it came out HORRIBLE. I asked the waiter, really nice guy and has great service, if they could remake the Long Island because it had way too much Triple Sec in it causing it to taste very sweet. He tried his best with the bartender, but was told to speak with the manager, who ultimately said they could not help. So I was stuck with a horrible drink by a bartender named Taylor or Chase. So before you order any mixed drinks, ask who is making your drink. And if it TAYLOR or CHASE.... Order a beer.. there is no way they can mess that up right??

The rolls are great and if you don't like the cinnamon butter they are served with (for the record I do love it) just ask for regular.

I just wished…read morethat maybe they would cut up two pieces of catfish instead of one for the nuggets, but it was only five dollars so you can't really beat that deal and it comes. I would definitely say my server could have done a better job and we got most of the things that we needed from Other service there because she was pretty absent however, overall our experience was a four out of five. The ambience is your typical lounge. It's pretty chill no thanks spectacular however, I would go back because the drinks were very good and you can't be a five dollar deal after work.

I've been for happy hour a few times. If you get there I'd say before 6 the music level is ok,…read moreespecially during the weekday. After 6, expect to have to yell at the person next to you. My friends have tried attending and found the music level too loud & left. If it's supposed to be a restaurant, then maybe save the loud music til after 9 for the club vibe? ‍ We came for dinner Sunday, 7/27/25. There was a good mix of R&B & hip hop, with more R&B, I'd say. My husband, "can't do boopity-boo," and was able to hang in there until bingo. I'l come back to that. I ordered the Baldwin Hills, which was fruity, but strong. The bartenders need to get on the same page tho, because the 1st one was definitely better than the 2nd one. I'm from LA & Baldwin Hills is above the area where I grew up, so I had to represent with that drink. Normally, I'm a whiskey/bourbon lady, but vodka is my white liquor preference so I was good. The food is good. We started with the jerk chicken eggrolls. It was definitely fried hard, or maybe refried from earlier? Idk. It was not as light as the picture. Due to the lighting & how hard they were fried, I had to do some editing to make them visible. The server said they weren't too spicy. They come in 4 pieces. The 1st piece I had was definitely mild. My husband said they had a kick when he bit into his, but I didn't get that...that is until I had the 2nd one! Whew! All the spice was in that piece! I'd say slightly spicier than a little kick. They were tasty tho. We both waited a while for our entrees. The table next to us, also only with a couple had their food come out before ours, though they came in as we were finishing our appetizer I think. We'd already placed our entree order by the time they came. The server apologized for the delay on our food and said it would be out in a few minutes. It was more like 10-15 minutes before they brought out his entree. The person who brought it out, maybe the manager?, said she didn't want his food to get cold waiting on mine to come out. It took another 10-15 minutes, if not longer, for my food to come out, with no explanation. My husband ordered the fried catfish entreè with spinach & rice pilaf. He enjoyed his food. His only issue was not having 2 fillets. As you can see the piece you get is sizable, soooo, if you have a big appetite, maybe also get the catfish on the happy hour too to supplement the meal. ‍ I'm trying to get into salmon & the honey bourbon salmon was good. It wasn't overly sweet and it didn't taste fishy, like salmon sometimes can. The spinach is good also. I had to send the potatoes back because they were not hot. As long as I waited for my food, I wasn't expecting lukewarm food. The server quickly brought out some hot potatoes and they were good. They have bingo on Sunday night @ 8; or at least it was 8-something that's night. Initially, the dj said it was an R&B bingo, but when the bingo paper was passed out, it had hip hop on it too. I'm familiar with some hip hop, but don't know all the artists' names, lol. It was still fun, but I knew I probably wasn't going to win lol. We sang during the songs (had to ID the artist on the bingo card), and everyone seemed to be having a good time. I'm glad to have this option in Douglasville and glad it's still here after a few years when some other restaurants have closed. They are also open late, which is good, as most restaurants in the area close at 9 or 10. I'd ask the owner to consider a grown and sexy night or an over 35 night with good R&B music that's played at a level that can be enjoyed and allowed conversation to flow. A line dance night would also be good. I met the owner when the 1st location in Atlanta opened on Edgewood. It just so happened we had family in town visiting from LA. They gave him the business lol about the drink names and the place, but really enjoyed the vibe. I'm glad to see the business flourishing and in multiple states. I wish continued success and that there will be some acceptance of the feedback provided.

Considering it was a Saturday around 11 AM and the restaurant was already packed, the wait was understandable. We didn't get a chance to try any drinks this visit since we were hitting the road afterward, but the drink menu looked great and we'll definitely be back to check it out. For brunch, we ordered the French Toast Breakfast Sandwich, and it absolutely hit the spot! Adding jelly took it to another level. It was so good that I wanted to keep eating, but I had to stop at half because I didn't want to be too full for the drive. It was truly sensational. Despite the busy brunch crowd, the atmosphere and service was great, and we had no trouble finding street parking nearby. Overall, a delicious brunch experience, and I'm already looking forward to coming back!
