This is a really nice restaurant in Douglasville. The wait staff was super friendly but not annoying and they hustled. They worked as a team so you didn't sit around waiting for anything. The food was really good. We ordered calamari which was amazing. Very good proportion of octopus to squid. The salad was interesting but good. They served one big bowl for the two of us. It had garbanzo beans and pickled beets but the waiter asked before adding the beets as they're not to everyone's liking. They taste like dirt but I like that sort of thing. I ordered the chicken picatta which was very good. The sauce was excellent and the serving size was huge. My only complaint was the onions overpowered the dish. In my previous experience, the dish contains artichoke hearts instead of the onion which is more in keeping with the flavor profile. But that's one minor complaint on a really great meal. read more

I've been here three times so far. The food was fantastic two of those visits and just okay once, so it's been a little inconsistent. Cocktails were similar--pretty good twice and not so great another time. The staff has always been friendly and welcoming, and the place is very clean and well kept, which I appreciate. This is my 2nd visit and what a hidden gem! Those who know, know. Sam & Roscoe's is the family Italian restaurant you need to be at for amazing service, atmosphere, drinks and food. All the guests are friendly people too! Walking in/out there are nice greetings, recommendations to eat and generally happy people. We made a reservation using Google Assistant with no issues. Now, considering they're "old school" - prefer cash over cards, not on reservation apps and actually answer the phone. Initially we had planned for 4 then 3 family members surprised Mom. I told the host and he suggested we change it earlier but was still able to adjust the table for 7! It was last minute but they didn't hesitate to get us a table. Our server - Shannon was gracious and patient. We had others helping to keep water glasses filled, refilled soda and tea drinks and providing plenty garlic rolls and the house salad. The house salad includes chick peas and beets - reminded me of places in NYC. For appetizers we ordered the calamari, bruschetta and SW egg rolls that were a special. Calamari is one of the best. Bruschetta was tasty, however SW eggroll was cold in the middle. Dinner was spaghetti with meat sauce (2), Florentine with chicken, salmon and fried shrimp. Everything was delicious, fresh, hot and serving sizes are plenty to wrap up for later. A server will box food up in the dining room and provide fresh salad to box up. Also, we ordered cannolis for dessert to go. To top it off - Mom got a discount for her birthday! Closing out: They only add 20% gratuity for parties of 8 or more and will split checks. My husband and I celebrated our 35th Anniversary at S&R's with our daughters and their boyfriends. This was our first visit and it won't be our last. We were greeted and seated by Sam or Rosco (not sure which). Our head server and the accompanying server team went above and beyond to make it a memorable celebration. The food was delicious. However we didn't care for the calamari, it was a little too thick and chewy. Nevertheless, kudos to the chef and kitchen team. The ambiance is very classic Italian, ideal for celebrations and romantic date nights. The pictures of the inside don't do it justice; it looks old online but that's not so. The dress attire ranges from business casual to nearly formal. Besides the fine dining area, they have a full bar with a lounge area along with at least three (by our count) private party rooms. You tell me to try salmon and Roscoes on a budget? Are you serious a budget you have to have $150 budget to eat there. But it's excellent food. Everything is done to perfection My Wife and I go there two or three times a year and it's a wonderful experience. But you better have a big budget not just a budget. By the way, the service is excellent and the ambience is rival by none. YES, it is the best Chicken Piccata ever! I 100% agree. The service is so good. Everyone seems so kind. I try to make it here every few months and we order the same thing each and every time. Never disappoints. However, the cocktails are not my favorite, but lesson learned. I'll stick with water, wine or tea. I love sitting in my favorite booth and I've been advised on how to get our favorite booth each time we come. I'm keeping that one close to the vest. The hubs and I haven't had a date night in a long time. We opted to patronize a local establishment. It's been a while since we've been to Sam & Rosco's and the last time we went they did not disappoint. Our reservation was at 7 for 4 but our friends canceled at the last minute. We waited a couple minutes for the host but when he finally came over, we were greeted with a smile and sat within a few minutes. The host asked if we didn't mind waiting for a booth, which we did not, since it was just us two. Ryan was our server and he was very cordial. He told us about the menu, including the evenings special and took our drink order. I ordered the chicken piccata and the hubs decided on the chicken parm. Both came out fairly quickly and looked delicious. My chicken piccata was delicious. My husband said the chicken was a little dry and he let me taste it and it was on the dry side. I also had a lemon drop but forgot to tell Ryan no sugar rim. For me, it would have been perfect but I still enjoyed it. The service was as great as I remember. I went her on my birthday. It was a cozy dimly lit restaurant. Very nice people and the food was good.

We drove to the area to pick up a shelter cat and needed some take out. Looking up the menu and said this is it! Went in the cozy bar for excellent cocktail and ordered. The staff was so quick and really super nice. Loved Monica! The lasagna and tortellini were exceptional! We couldn't even start the meatballs so they are going home. Wish we lived closer! read more

Came here for a date night and wanted to try a different place. The service was awesome, and The house salad was pretty good, with a nice homemade vinaigrette. Loved the garlic bread that comes with it, it tasted very authentic. The mozzarella sticks were fried a little too hard, but the flavor was pretty good. My husbands salmon was a bit dry he said but had good flavor. I had the fettuccine Alfredo with both chicken and shrimp. It has awesome consistency and the flavor was pretty good but I needed to add salt and pepper. The chicken in it was a little dry, but overall large portion and we finished it. Let's just say it started bad, the middle was bad, and the end was bad. We ordered the Chianti. It was undrinkable. The wine had gone sour. The bottle had undoubtedly been open for multiple days. The garlic bread definitely came frozen out of a bag. Neither my fiancé nor I could finish our entrees. It was overcooked mush. HER'S HAD A HAIR IN IT!!! The tirmasu HAD NO COFFEE. That's one of the main ingredients in tiramisu. It also had Hershey's chocolate on top. If you have any sense of self worth you won't spend your money at this establishment. Friendly service when we called to get a table and then we walked in a little bit delayed and the owner was so nice! Shiloh was our main server, she was so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. She gave us great suggestions for the appetizers and main courses. Everything was delicious and while we were stuffed from dinner we did share a creme brulee and a cannoli!
