I happened to see this place on the side of the road which I never noticed before. I thought I would stop by to see what they have. I walked in and was greeted by two men. As I looked around one of them asked if he could help me and I explained that I saw the building as I was driving by and thought I would stop in to take a look. He then proceeds to give me this spiel on how their meat comes from local farms, there's no antibiotics or pesticides and everything is from pastured animals. I'm now thinking I couldn't be luckier to have seen the place. I stopped eating the regular store bought bbq meats years ago in favor of natural farm pastured animals. So I decided to take home three sides of spare ribs. At 4.99/lb it was expensive but I dont mind paying more for better for you and better tasting meat. I get the meat home and started to throw it in the freezer when I see the back of the cryopack. To my utter shock it states IBP on the back of the cryopack. IBP for those of you unaware is a subsidiary of Tysons food. In other words, the meat is the same crap you find in your in local grocery store that's full of every growth hormone and antibiotics that you can think of. To say that I am MAD about having been lied to about their source of meat would be an understatement. Not only that but they sold me meat at 4.99/lb that can be had at any BJs, Publix, Safeway for 2.99/lb. We call that insult to injury. Steer well clear of this place and if you chose to ignore this warning at least be very careful about what they are selling you. You may not be getting what you paid for. My first time visiting a Butcher Shop was a success! They made it very easy for me to choose and they were very attentive to my needs. We ended up purchasing a 30 day meat pack and I couldn't be happier with the variety of meat we have for the month. They also mix and match because I have shied away from pork! The only reason for the four star is because they were out of beef bacon and beef ribs. Other than that, catch me there as soon as this pack is demolished!!! read more

This place is awesome, the specials are a great deal and the customer service can't be beat. We get organic ribeyes, pork chops, burgers and chicken from here, always amazing flavor and very healthy looking meats. They also have veggies from local farms to make it a one stop shop. As a bonus, it smells like smoked brisket in the shop. They also have a huge selection of jerky and even natural treats for for your furry puppy friends at home. read more

Owner is super friendly and nice. Their selection of sausage is huge! Steaks and brisket is of decent sizes. Plenty of grab and go things to choose from. If you are wondering why only 4 stars, well on the their web page its says there is a chef that worked in new orleans and he cooks gumbo and other cajun dishes. Well the gumbo is the worse ever. I love purchasing from smaller local business, so when I heard about Findley's I was excited to check them out. Sadly, I am not very impressed with the shop. The employees were very friendly and willing to tell me about their product line. However, that was the highlight of the visit. The overall atmosphere was dank and dirty, not making it very appealing to purchase food items there, but I still chose to purchase a few items to try out as I try not to judge a book by its cover. Most of the frozen items looked freezer burned or unintentionally dehydrated as though they had been there for quite some time. Most of the "fresh" meats did not look appealing and are definitely overpriced even for a specialty shop. My biggest complaint however, is with the beef jerky. As a lover of jerky, I definitely wanted to give theirs a try. The meat itself was extremely bland, although partially hidden by an overwhelming flavor of cloves and pepper. I made it halfway through the bag only to discover that the remaining pieces have green and white fluffy mold growing on them.... it was all I could do not to regurgitate at this point. While the service was excellent, the meat is why I shopped there. The prepared brisket was flavorless, and the fat content was extremely high, and had almost a rancid quality. I also bought raw sausage that had to be thrown out once cooked. No thanks....I'll drive the extra miles and continue on to Patak's. Just moving to the area one thing I am looking for is a great butcher. I think I have been very spoiled by the one I used to go to in MA and have high expectations for other butcher shops. I visited here today and picked up some pork chops and a pork butt as there were the only things that appeared to be fresh. For a butcher shop I was surprised to see the number of freezers and food vacuum sealed in the coolers. The beef did not look like it does in the photos, it looked brown and old and the stuff in the freezers looked freezer burned. Really disappointed since I drove 45 minutes to check this place out. read more

This place is dirty and roach infested, the question isn't "should you buy meat there" it's "why does the health department allow them to continue to sell to the public". Something needs to be done to change the way health scores arrived at, putting greater emphasis on cleanliness and pest and rodent infestations. I used a coupon that I received on the back on my receipt from Kroger to buy a BBQ plate and receive a pulled pork sandwich for free. I am extremely disappointed!! The vegetables were straight from the can with absolutely no seasoning. I threw most of the food away. The pulled pork was a little better, but not by much. A COMPLETE waste of my money. read more
