We dined in for dinner at Shane's Rib Shack on July 4. They had good service and the food was okay. They honestly saved the day because we went pretty late (8 ish) and they were literally the only establishment in the plaza that stayed open passed 8 PM on the holiday. They were VERY busy and the customer service was awesome regardless, not only with us, but with others that were being served for dine in and carryout/pick up orders. We chose to dine in and place one to go order. For dine in, I ordered my son a boneless wings kids meal (medium lemon pepper flavor) and he really loved it. I chose the two meat combo with pulled pork and a half rack with Texas toast, french fries and coleslaw (I sent the coleslaw back and swapped it for baked beans because it was not good and had too much mayo). I liked the flavor on the pulled pork, toast and fries, but thought the pulled pork was a bit greasier than I am used to. The ribs were decent with the seasoning & their BBQ sauces. The baked beans were just okay. I had the peach cobbler for dessert and it was sweet, but tasty. I also put in a to go order of the 1/2 chicken for my husband and he said it was really good. The staff was friendly and checked on us and others while also tending to the dining area. We ordered the Family meal which consists of your choice of 1/2 lb shredded pork or chicken, 2 sides, 4 Texas toast, and a gallon of regular or peach tea. We chose 1/2 lb pork, baked beans and fries for our sides, and peach tea for our beverage. The pork was tender and delicious. The Shane's original sauce enhanced the flavor of the meat. For the first time ever, my husband tried (teriyaki sauce) boneless wings with fried okra. He said it was the best boneless wings he has ever had. He tried them again in the same week. When I add slaw to the sandwich, it reminds me of my hometown. I prefer the honey bbq sauce. When our children were small, we used to occasionally come here on Saturdays for the family meal. Where do I begin?! For starters, this restaurant was literally hospital standard clean. The service I received was by far the best hospitality I've had in a very long time. I'm glad we did. Shane's is solid enough.. even though we would try other BBQ spots next time we're around, it was tasty. The ribs were tender... LOVED the teriyaki sauce. I dipped my dry rub ribs and my onion rings in it and was in heaven. Mac and cheese was just ehh... the "Texas" style toast they gave was not too good. But, let me tell you about the peach cobbler... first of all, I LOVE that I was given the option of having more crust per fruit ratio... opted for more crust (who doesn't?).. it was the bomb! In these times a lot of leeway must be given to restaurants accommodating people with door dash / Uber eats/ whatever delivery service but this is awful. My wife ordered a Shack sampler 16.99$ and smoked wings(20) 24.99$. After taxes and delivery fees was 62.53$ The order arrived fast (DoorDash)but that's the end of my positive feedback. The only thing we received was 20 undercooked wings with no sauce. No shack sampler and all the sides that come with it. The wings were rubbery and inedible. DOORDASH refunded us 30$ not Shane's! The way I see it they did everything right not Shane's. Have gone to many Shane's rib shack but this one is the most half assed for sure. Shame on you read more

I went near closing and ordered the special (a 4-bone rib with one side) which was $7.99. I also ordered a beef hotdog that came with pulled pork and coleslaw (which cost an additional $3.99). I was very impressed. These people know what they are doing. The ribs were fantastic (even though they were a tad bit dry. I'm gathering they had sat a while and many of the juices had run off). But they were still delicious (even though they were a tad bit tough). They were tender in certain areas. The potato salad I ordered as a side was incredible. It was very good. Slightly sweet and very creamy. The hot dog was the real star. The weiner was humongous and super juicy. It was about the size of a police sausage. With the sliced pork and coleslaw it was so tasty. I've truly enjoyed all of the times I have dined at Shane's Rib Shack of Douglasville. I have been coming here at least once every two months for the past year and a half (as of this writing). They always greet their customers upon entry with their energetic, "Welcome to Shane's!" The orders are usually taken care of quite efficiently, even when they are really busy. After your order is placed, they provide you with a table number stand and you basically choose whatever table is available. The restaurant has booths running along the perimeter of the brick walls and tables and chairs on the main floor area. There are several flatscreen TVs that are always playing current sporting events and they typically play modern country music. They have a selection of fountain drink beverages as well as sweetened and unsweetened ice tea. Next to the fountain drinks are straws, plastic ware, napkins and sliced lemons. When your order is ready, one of the staff members will bring your food to your table and ask, "is there anything else I can get for you?" They will also come by to pick up your empty serving baskets with any waste items. My favorite items are their smoked chicken wings and their ribs! Sometimes I order the Two Meat (Pick 2) combo for $13.99, which you can choose any two of the following meats: 1/2 Chicken, 4 Ribs, 3 Tenders, 6 Wings, BBQ Pork, or BBQ Chicken. The Two Meat option is under Shane's "Plates" section of the menu, which all plates come with Texas Toast and your choice of two sides: (Coleslaw, Baked Beans, French Fries, Fried Okra, Mac & Cheese, Green Beans, Potato Salad, Side Salad, Sweet Potato Fries or Onion Rings). I usually go with the 4 Ribs and 6 Smoked Wings with French Fries and a Side Salad. Sometimes I get the green beans and the baked beans. On other occasions, I will just order a 10 piece smoked chicken wing meal tossed in medium sauce, because their smoked wings are delish!!! The meat falls right of the bone and has a great smoked wood flavor. I also have ordered a full rack of ribs and they are really good! I would love to give Shane's a 5 star rating based solely on their smoked chicken wings, ribs and customer service, but I have found some inconsistencies in the past 6 months. Sometimes I received my smoked chicken wings with too much char on them and on other occasions some of the wings didn't look as presentable as previous times I have ordered them. Also, the Texas Toast actually used to be "toasted," but lately it has been served soggy with too much butter. I tried the Big Dad sandwich about 3 weeks ago as of this writing, and I had to just eat the pulled pork because the bread was just way too soggy. As an FYI, I purposely chose NOT to post those lackluster pictures and to just keep it within my review, as I want to focus and promote the positive imagery I have captured at Shane's. On that note, I recently ordered a full rack of ribs and 10 smoked chicken wings for take-out on Saturday, June 3, 2017 and they were cooked to PERFECTION!! I was very surprised because it was 20 minutes before they were scheduled to close, and I think that was THE BEST smoked chicken wings and ribs I have had from Shane's in my 1.5 years of dining with them! It was so good I totally bypassed taking pictures! My friend and I just dug in like savages and left a fossil collection behind! Overall, due to recent inconsistencies, I give Shane's a 4 Star Rating primarily due to their smoked chicken wings and ribs coupled with their friendly customer service. However, their "Big Dad" sandwich would get a 2 Star Rating at most from me. Please improve that Texas Toast! I think this location is just like the other's in Atlanta. Pretty decent BBQ. But nothing really to write home about. I always get the half a chicken with Fried Okra and MacNCheese. I think that is the best combo in the place. My BF get's the sampler. It has sample size portions of Ribs (Just two bones), Pulled Pork or Chicken (He always gets Chicken) and Chicken Fingers (Pretty big and very good). My Chicken is always nice and juicy. I like my meat to have some type of seasonings on it. The not just the skin, but the meat too. I am forced to eat the skin because the meat is otherwise a little tasteless to me. Yet it's still not bad. I love the Fried Okra (The chicken should be seasoned this well) and the MacNCheese is very creamy and cheesy but it could use some Salt and Pepper. Boneless wings, basically just cut up chicken breast. But delicious nonetheless. I love their boneless wings, they are always so juicy and flavorful to me. I ordered hot with lemon pepper with blue cheese, it's the Atlanta girl in me. Best combination of flavors, the coolness and bite of the blue cheese cuts the heat perfectly. There is no other combination like it. I also really love the peach cobbler at Shane's. At this particular location, not so much, it's never cooked fully to my liking. Was in the restaurant this evening ordering dinner TOGO. The manager there this evening was short with phone orders. She continually swung her greasy brown ponytail around unnetted. The young lady that took our was very professional and our order was CORRECT. She asked her manager to bag our food after we checked our order, while she went to to back to get something. The manager with the greasy whippin ponytail felt the need to recheck our food. NO GLOVES AND STARTED TO TOUCH THE PAPER ON THE INSIDE WITH THE FOOD.
