My wife had their chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and creamy gravy with green beans. I had their chicken breast smothered in caramelized onions and mushrooms with cream gravy baked potato and also their green beans. I added skewered shrimp as an add on with their shrimp with toasted rolls as an appetizer. We were both overwhelmed with the flavor of EVERYTHING! I was able to add our party to the waitlist online and receive messages alerting us to the status of our table. We arrived and had to check in at the host station. The check in did not get us seated. We had to wait an additional 15 minutes. It was very busy with many large groups waiting for seating. Overall, the staff did a great job handling this and I don't feel we waited too long. The food was excellent. We were given multiple baskets with rolls and a bag of peanuts. Everyone enjoyed their meals, no complaints. I hate starting a review like this but the servers were very rude. I don't want to out anyone personally (as I myself wouldn't feel comfortable doing) but there was what seemed to be a group of female servers "hanging out" in the back, rarely paying attention to the customers, and gabbing what felt like about my family and I. It was flat, with absolutely no favor except for onion piled on top. My loaded sweet potato lacked luster with only marshmallows in it. No butter, no sugar or cinnamon. I ate half of the meal felt sick afterwards and during the night was awoken by a very horrible feeling, which led to vomiting. I will take Texas off my list. First of all, I really like Texas Roadhouse. That being said, I was very disappointed in my last trip to the one in Elkhart. If you want some prime rib on the weekend, you have to go in the afternoon before 4 o'clock. I changed to salmon, but it was dry and just moderately warm. The vegetable sides were nice and hot and very delicious ( although they forgot to bring one of them with the entree and it took a while to get it) as was my partners main choice. Really disappointing the last time (tonight) we've tried this place. We used to order weekly for the past few years since we moved here (not many options for dinners on a Sunday in Elkhart). The lasts few times we'd have something missing or made incorrectly. So we haven't been back for over a year. We tried tonight and this is our last time spending money here! We placed a carry out order, and it was ready in a quick amount of time, so that was appreciated. However, the one steak we ordered was purple inside. It was so raw, the knife looked like it was covered in jelly after we cut into it. So completely disgusting, I cannot believe they would serve this! We paid $20 for this steak! I called and spoke with a manager and she basically blamed me for being picky and suggested I order it a different way next time, so that was fun being blamed for her kitchen staff serving raw food. She did email me a $15 gift card, but my husband was so upset that he ended up bringing the steak back to show them. Sunday is our ONE and only night we are able to eat together as a family, so it was upsetting just sitting there eating bread while the rest of my family enjoyed their dinner. I was pretty disappointed in my meal. I've been coming to this Texas Roadhouse ever since I was a little girl and it's like every time my experience gets worse and worse. I asked for a medium rare steak WITH pink and it came out well done. It was dry and tough to chew. Not juicy at all. The rice is my favorite but this time it was extremely salty, I couldn't even finish it. (I am not a fan of salt) as soon as we got our food not even five minutes later our waitress had already brought our bill to us... not like that's a huge problem but I felt very rushed and she never came back to give us refills after that or asked us about our meal. The presentation was not appetizing at all, just thrown on the plate with zero care. Texas Roadhouse can be expensive so this trip was not worth the money. Had an absolutely wonderful experience here tonight! In an effort to make it an "early evening" for my family, I decided to bypass cooking & dishes all together by making the decision to dine out. We decided on TR because my middle kid just LOVES the rolls. I walked in the door around 4:30, there wasn't a large crowd as we made a point to make it there before the dinner rush. A kind young man working the front stand walked us back to our corner booth, which I had specifically requested to accommodate my kin & our things. Our servers name was Hannah, and she was out to serve us quickly. She took our drink orders (1 large coke & 2 apple juices) and returned in a flash. She brought out two juice boxes, to which I asked for the child cups. She was again back quickly & took our food order. We ordered an onion blossom to start, it was out within 10 minutes. Yummy! For entrees I chose the 8oz filet meal+onions on top, with the mashed potatoes & a salad for sides. My daughter got the steak bites meal & mashed potatoes as well. The food was delicious. While the temp of my steak wasn't what I had ordered (I asked for medium, got well/well done), I can overlook that as the flavor was spot on. The potaters tasted homemade, the salad was fresh, the rolls incredible as always! I will definitely make a point to be back soon, and I hope we get sat in Hannah's section again. I couldnt thank her enough for being so kind and accommodating of my requests, no matter how small (need for A1, wet naps, kid cups). She was attentive in making sure we were happy, and all while having a smile on her face. She well deserved her 30% tip.
