Beyond disappointed in both the service and food The appetizer combo we ordered was not great but edible. We both ordered the steak fries as one of our sides with our entrees. Worst steak fries I've ever had, they were not even warm, overcooked and way too salty, and I always salt my fries. My other side dish was a house salad, which came with chopped egg on top of it that I didn't care for. My entree, chicken critters & ribs, was meh. Service was worse than the food. We ordered our beverages and the appetizer was brought before we even got our beverages. We said as much to the person who bought the appetizer and she brought us two glasses of water. Then my husband got his diet cola but I still hadn't gotten the sweet tea I had ordered. Our server, Malakla I think, finally came back by our table and I mentioned I still hadn't received the sweet tea I ordered. She grabbed my glass of water and started to walk away. Place is located in a shopping center and parking was a bit hard to find but not impossible. We went for lunch on Sunday around 2pm, our wait was 10 minutes with a 15 minute expectation. Our visit started with an amazing bread they bring to the table. This bread was so amazing we ordered a second order while we waited for the food! My recommendation is definitely the ribs and ribeye. We ordered chicken critters with side of Caesar( salad ok, not wow), buffalo boneless wings (good but portion is small), 20 oz ribeye, ribs whole rack, and 8 oz sirloin, cheese fries and steak fries, and rice. The ribs are cooked to perfection and meat slides off the bone throughout the entire rack with bbq flavor all over it. The 20 oz ribeye is a bit big for one person, but a must try! Tender, juicy, and on the spot. Our server was Zack, he was great with all the service and recommended plates and constantly came back to ask how the food was going the flavor etc. The only reason why they get four stars was because of the chicken and fries which lacked culinary touch. A lot of space throughout the restaurant so traffic moves fast. Last but not least, I really liked the receipt came separated by each person so got work parties and meetings or large groups this is perfect. The waiter didn't really come by much and even when we called him over someone else came to speak to us instead even though we were going to order more food, not ask for a status update of our meal. The steak was ordered medium but it came rare and so we had to wait for it to come back. The meat was pretty tough and the flavor was just okay. Ordered a T-bone. It was 80% bone though... on the bright side, the bread rolls were absolutely SPECTACULAR as always and the ribs were truly a work of art. The ribs were juicy, had an amazing flavor, and were sooo great in texture too. The fries were pretty good, just a tad salty. The bread though. I would go back JUST for the bread and ribs. Your typical Texas Roadhouse. The food, pricing, and specials are consistent to the other restaurants in this brand. When I review chain restaurants I typically focus on the service and cleanliness of the restaurant to adequately compare it to other franchises. I've never had a bad service in this specific Texas Roadhouse. The last time I was here, my server was really great even though he was taking care of a billion tables. Our food came out in a timely matter and my party was never waiting on anything for a long time. At other Texas Roadhouses I tend to experience sticky tables or waaay too many peanut shells on the floor but this location was super clean. The food itself is a little better than average for a Texas Roadhouse but can't really be compared to the good cooking at more local establishments in town. For instance, I thought the ribs here were overall tasty (a bit dry on some parts) but I would prefer to go to another, smaller restaurant in Gainesville if I'm really craving ribs. Pro tips! 1. Call ahead to reserve a table - This place can get packed on holidays. 2. My husband and I treated his mom to Mother's Day dinner at the Gainesville Texas Roadhouse this Sunday. Let me start by saying Texas Roadhouse is my favorite chain restaurant. We live in Georgia and frequent the one in Snellville and Athens about every week ish. Went to the one in Gainesville, Florida, last night and it was just a bad experience. Steaks were over cooked, asked for salad with no egg and it came with egg on it. Asked server for side of mayo, it never came. Our meals were delivered by someone other than our server and then we really didn't see our server. We sat with empty glasses for over 30 minutes and left never even getting any refills. If I'm being honest, it was obvious he didn't care. We paid at electronic pay at table and left 15% because we didn't have a choice. I usually tip 25%. There are a lot of really good restaurants in this area that I would recommend. We came here Sunday for Father's Day. We arrived around 10:30 and was first in line. We had a party of 7 and were seated right away. I would say we ordered by 11:20. The place was busy of course. We all ordered simple salads and sandwiches and 1 prime rib. When we hadn't been served by 12:30 it seamed like a long time. We finally got our food by 12:45 only to have dried out BBQ sandwiches and a dry chicken sandwich. All of these were sent back. We determined that the prime rib wasn't ready so everything else sat and waited. You would think a manager would have come by to apologize. One came by with the chicken sandwich which was wrong and the 3 that ate were finished by then. We came in for dinner on January 14. We had a 45 minute wait as it was a busy Friday evening. After being seated it was 40 minutes with no food. We had to flag the waitress down for drink refills. She seemed irritated from the moment we arrived. I asked about our food. She said she just put the order in because she was having breathing issues and had to go sit in her car. I can appreciate her not feeling well, but she was flat rude the entire time. The food arrived after an hour after being seated. Some of our food was not warm. We didn't call the manager over as we were just tired and ready to go. I would have given a lower review, but we have always enjoyed the Texas Roadhouse for their great service and quality food. This is my husband's favorite chain restaurant. So we are here probably way more than we should be. He loves the steak and the salt encrusted baked potato. I love their chicken fingers. You might be seeing a trend here. TRh chicken fingers are the best chain CF you can get. I need to just make a list of chicken fingers/tenders in Gainesville and rate them. That should not be a goal, and I understand how it sounds. Also, that loaded sweet potato is feckin' awesome of you don't mind having dessert with your dinner. Same with the yeast rolls, which I've stopped getting because of the calories in one roll alone. The servers are genuinely pretty good. The few times we've run into bad servers we have also noticed that they don't last long (did I mention that we are here too often?) The problems really lie in the upkeep of the building and the hostesses. TRh has an outdoor seating area but the hostesses don't assign that area during lunch or early dinner. Why have that seating if you don't let people sit out there? Then again, when we do sit out there our servers usually forget about us, so maybe it's better if it's just closed off. The building is rundown. The bathrooms never seem clean. The floors are scuffed up and the seats slide around, especially if the seats are used for storage. And would someone PLEASE run a sticky roller over that dang bison head? It's disgusting! I refuse to sit under it for fear of the years of dust will fall into my food. This is not a good place if you're child-free out for dinner. We are constantly seated next to the single family with the single children having way too much fun (please stop talking and playing your phone games so loudly!!!!) They've packed so many people in the dining area you feel like a sardine. You could literally reach out arms length and touch people in all directions that were not part of your party. Don't come here if you are a large party. I called ahead to make reservations for a group of 12. They told me that they don't make reservations but that I can call ahead. They said that the earliest they could seat us would be 7:30pm. Not a problem. The whole party arrives by 7:20pm, they finally call us to be seated at 8:40pm but they then break our party up into two groups of 6 and seat us in two separate booths back to back to each other... what was the point of waiting almost 2 hours to just be broken apart into different tables? We weren't sitting together anymore, so really not a great place for large groups. Ridiculous policy that they make you wait and then put you into two different booths where you can't all talk. We were seated as soon as we walked in. Our waitress was extremely attentive and polite. We did not wait long to get our fried pickles and dinner salad while we waited for our main order. I had bbq chicken breast with a side of seasoned rice. The bbq chicken was nice and tender and flavorful. My wife had a house salad as she is a light eater. The fluffy yeast rolls soaked in cinnamon butter will do me in one day. Roadhouse actually gives the rolls time to rise, thank goodness. Even if we arrive here at 5:00pm on the spot with all of the early birds, they are already slammed with customers. I recommend parking behind the building because the tiny parking lot on the side is just a wreck waiting to happen. I used to be a big steak and potatoes girl, that was before I knew any better. After I traveled and learned more about the world, steaks don't even come to mind when I think of food. However, for my family, steaks are a way of life. This is a bucket-o-peanuts and country music establishment. Nuff said! If I had my choice of steak in Gainesville, this is where I go because they serve the best rib-eye steak in my opinion. I am one of those terrible people that prefers fatty meats to be crispy instead of jiggly, so I enjoy their rib-eye medium well. The thin cut of the meat here provides the greatest amount of crispy fatty bits. The mashed potatoes are hearty and the gravy is decent, skins included. They now have fried sliced pickles covered in Cajun seasoned batter, so my intake of scary things goes on overload when I visit. They have a pretty good happy hour on weekdays with $2.50 margaritas, two of those should do any normal sized person in. I'll stick with the sweet tea. read more

Our server is the only reason I'd give this restaurant any stars. From the time I got on the waitlist online to the time I was seated was 45 minutes which was longer than the times quoted by the app and the hostess. My wife's water had a 3 inch piece of glass in it that we had to report and return. My med-rare 16oz ribeye was over cooked twice. The second one came after my family had already finished all of their food. The server was very sweet and helpful. Managers came over for both occasions. Went to celebrate my fiancés birthday, we understand around dinner time (we went around 8) it gets busy, we wait very very patiently. We received one basket of bread, our drinks, and appetizer (fried pickles) so we are enjoying it while waiting for our waiter,MAXCIMO OR MAXIMO to come back and take our main course orders (about 20 mins) which has not happened. Another family gets sat and he immediately goes to their table, greets, gets drinks and bread. About 10 mins later he goes to their table and gets their order and blatantly ignores us and does not get our order. We say okay he will probably be right back, he disappears for another 15 minutes, patiently waiting again, he comes back and drops off a tables that was already waiting for their food and completely ignored us again, at that point we felt like it was on purpose-mind you we have not complained or anything. We had to ask another server to order, but he said he has to go get our server, comes back and says they can't find our server. 10 mins later he comes and says, sorry for the wait like we were not waiting to order a meal for 45 mins, at that point we said thank you but we are leaving to which he responded oh sorry and walks away! Came here on a Wednesday night and it was packed! Thank goodness I called ahead to get on the waitlist, and we were seated within minutes of arriving. When we ordered there were a lot of mis-communications on what was available. Tried to order a 30 oz steak and was told they didn't have it and then 10 minutes later they did, and then 5 minutes after that they were out of burgers. *mind blown* How could they be out of burgers? Any who, we ordered and then 30-45 mins later our food finally comes out. I ordered a steak with shrimp and the shrimp we good, steak okay. Baked potato was overly salted on the outside, and broccoli came out cold. Another party member orders the Mac and cheese as a side and it was basic Kraft box Mac and cheese. Such a huge let down. Overall, the experience was okay and only a bit better due to the company. Would probably not come here again and choose a different establishment for a steak/burger. Then the server wasn't on top of with picking up our dishes or refilling our drinks. And when I told him something about it he got bothered and gave me an attitude in return. I ordered an 8oz fillet MR. The first one came out MW. I let the server know it was overcooked. They took it and my baked potato(with only butter). When the recook arrived by the shift manager it was M to MW and missing my side item. Because I was in a party of 6 and we already had to wait for 1 recook I just ate it. After I asked for my baked potato it came out with sour cream. Come on guys. It's not that hard. They broke corporate process by not providing a new side. The worst of it is my server was a trainer in the middle of training. All these issues should have been double checked. If I was a shop you guys would have failed. I heard can I get you a cold Bud light. He called it a blooming onion, his steak temps for color were wrong. MR a light pink center( I corrected him to warm red center). Also nothing was comped. The chicken was cooked to perfection and had a delicious mushroom sauce. Came with a side cesar salad. We ordered on the side the onion rings and they were pretty good.
