They let dogs in the restaurant to sit at tables.
Mary B.

We frequent TR all over the United States and although I have no complaints about tbe food or the service I do have a complaint about the fact that they let dogs in this restaurant that are not wearing any kind of service animal labels and they let them sit at their table and get on the tables. The owners were asked if it was a service dog and of course they said yes. Weak management.

Located just off 75 and Archer Rd, this Texas Roadhouse was a pleasant surprise. We hadn't been to one in many, many, many years prior and decided to give it another try. From the moment we walked in, staff was pleasant and attentive making the visit very refreshing from a lot of chains as of late. The portions were plentiful and tasty as comfort food should be. The rolls are always where it's at whether you prefer their cinnamon butter or plain butter. We didn't make it to dessert but maybe one day!

Had been a while since we've eaten here. Got sat down right away, had some of those amazing roles while we waited for our server. Our server Dee took our drink orders and our appetizer. He must have checked on us no less than six times, he was amazing. We told him we would be back this weekend as we had a gift card aso spoke with a manager about how great he was, and that we were really impressed that the service and the food had gotten better since the last time we were there. Our food came out hot, my salmon was amazing. The ribs came right off the bone. My wife's steak was cooked the way she liked it. Nothing could have been better. I highly recommend texas roadhouse. The restaurant was full of folks enjoying dinner. Which is good to see as we know that Gainesville has had a number of restaurants closed. So it was good to see a restaurant thriving.

Cactus Blossom-

Whoever is in the kitchen on Saturday nights THROWS DOWN. I came on a Thursday recently and the cactus blossom was both undercooked and burnt. Then I came on a Saturday and all the food was absolutely perfect. I highly recommend the cactus blossom, rattlesnake bites, herb chicken, mashed potatoes, and caesar salad. The chicken is SO juicy which I did not expect from a steakhouse. Pro tip, ask for some extra rolls to go! Service is always a hit or miss. The roadhouse is always super busy so the waiters are always slammed.

Love their steaks here! Got the New York strip with loaded sweet potato and corn and everything was delicious!

Always good/affordable steakhouse option when you casually crave steak/bar food in my opinion. Buns were served hot and steak was bit overcooked but still delicious.

Herb crusted chicken

We were passing through on 75 on our way home and stopped here to eat. Although packed, they were well staffed and extremely organized. We were seated within 5 minutes and our server, Gabe, came by within a few minutes. He was personable and professional and checked on us a few times. The vibe was festive and happy. It was loud, but not so loud that we couldn't talk. We both had the herb crusted chicken, a sweet potato and corn. All perfectly cooked and delicious. Will have to try the one closer to home next time. But if you have a child at UF or live here - give them a try and ask for Gabe

The quality of this restaurant surely has gone done the past few years . The only thing that was worth coming here was the rolls. They were hot and the butter was nice but I'm used to it haven't more flavor for some reason , it felt bland this time around. We got pickles for appetizer and they were so salty. They just tasted like straight salt and no pickle flavor at all. They were I overcooked and tasted like straight batter. I got a burger as my entree and it was so underwhelming. The smokehouse burger i feel like I could make it at home in fact probably better at home. It was flavorless and dry like it had been out for some time after they cooked it. The tomato was soggy along with the side pickle. The bun was stale and the burger was so small it was mostly bread. If it wasn't that my bf was hungry and he scarfed it down I would've returned it , we split it since we got full off of the buns. The fries were alright but not mind blowing. I can't understand who would play $14 for a burger and it be so mediocre . The server was not attentive to us at all and only came to see us at once the whole time after we ordered. I came one time during Father's Day and they did such a better job servicing the guests .

Definitely glad we did, because I'd highly recommend getting a reservation here. We went on a Saturday around noon and found out they do a buffet brunch until 3pm. I wasn't expecting that at all, but it ended up being awesome. The shrimp and grits were amazing. I don't know what they put in those grits, but they were seriously scrumptious. The chicken wings and sliders were also really good. The place itself is really nice and well put together. Our server was good too and even gave us some recommendations for breweries in the area, which was appreciated. Overall, great food, great service, and a really nice atmosphere. Highly recommend.

For example seared in olive oil is mentioned but they leave out it's been marinated in herbs and vegetable oil prior. However an undressed salad and grill item like a prime rib were supposedly not pre marinated. So for the folks trying to eliminate inflammatory seeds oils from their diets or those with soybean or peanut allergies you need to stay away. Since blended cooking oils or vegetable oil can def contain both. Atmosphere is casual and interesting with all the football history about. I'm adding menu pictures but we just had drinks with friends and when the food arrived for those not caring about vegetable oil etc we left.

Our server was very nice and she answered all of our questions, of which we had many! We were able to sit outside on a nice spring morning before it got too hot. Needless to say this the Metro diner truly surpassed my expectations. We walked in and were greeted immediately and asked if we would like to sit outside which is a covered area or indoors. We chose inside given it being a hot humid day and wanting that extra comfort. The vibe felt amazing with all the smiles and yes even though busy all the wait staff was hopping doing their business! We were seated and told about the specials and given the menu. I was unsure what I wanted because I think I could have eaten a little bit of everything! I did ask the waitress a couple of suggestions and one of them was the pancakes I had chosen. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner all day! How cool is that and rare. They had a chicken and waffle special that was actually half a chicken ( pieces ) fried with Belgium waffles, powdered sugar and sweet strawberry butter served with their signature sweet and spicy sauce. I'll be honest when I had seen someone else get their plate I was surprised. It looked absolutely incredible and well tremendous. On their specials they had banana pudding pancakes or waffles, this also sounded amazing. It had walnuts, butter and powdered sugar and definitely banana. I am most certainly glad that I chose this as it was incredibly. Super fluffy, flavorful and the banana was not overwhelming there was a perfect balance of flavors. There was a sauce on them that I assume was the banana pudding. It was light and just enough to not overpower the pancake itself. We had also ordered croissant French toast and my son absolutely loved them. They were crispy on the outside yet fluffy and flavorful with a fantastic texture topped with some powdered sugar. Some ordered hash browns, these were also delicious and homemade with a great texture and the portion like all the other dishes pretty large. We had all tried the biscuits and gravy. These too were delicious with such a nice balance of flavors. The biscuits indeed homemade. We were all very pleased with everything. Some eggs over easy and bacon cooked perfectly. The coffee honestly the best I've had in years. I'm a coffee drinker and I cannot figure this coffee was outstanding! I had four cups and wish for more ha ha. Best of all I must compliment the service. I have not been to a restaurant of any sort with such attentive service, quality service as we received here in years. The waitress kept refilling my coffee and water, brought my son more soda ( even a container to take his home ) asked everyone if they needed anything at appropriate times and was extremely kind and considerate. I will be back and I highly recommend the Metro Diner for a great meal, quality service and relaxed environment that you will enjoy. Entering it kind of reminds you of a farmhouse, I guess. Pretty standard furnishings and decoration for a country diner sort of place. Of course, we were there for breakfast, so the standard diner breakfast was on the menu. The full menu consists of burgers, sandwiches, and a couple of barbecue dishes. If there were more screens mounted on the walls I would call it a sportsbar, but that isn't the case. Our orders were taken, and I had gone for eggs, hashbrowns, and corned beef because it was St Patty's Day. Realistically one of the few times that I have legitimately had food that was appropriate for the holiday. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time for a group of ten, so the kitchen and staff knew what they were doing. The food was fine... nothing to really shout out about, but also not bad. It was what I expected it to be, and that was good enough.

1906 Farmhouse 25405 W Newberry Rd, Newberry, FL 32669…read more ***SWILL ALERT*** Pulling up to the hitchin' post at the 1906 Farmhouse, all seemed well and fine. I don't mind themed restaurants (they can be fun). This place was designed to model the Farmhouse where the ranch hands gathered for meals before and after a long day of riding. I dug it. It gave off a warm, welcoming, one-of-the-family vibe. Kasey was my server for the meal and she was frowning before I asked one question. I placed an order for one Country Fried Steak with sides of Collard Greens and Mac & Cheese, along with some Strawberry Shortcake to round out the meal. I soon saw Cantankerous Kasey begrudgingly returning with my victuals. I don't understand this attitude. Am I supposed to be grateful she deigned to work here? Anyway, if any of you are curious like me, you may have often wondered what it was like to spend a day in jail. To that end, I admit, I got myself hauled off to the County Hoosegow. Wanting to make the most out of my tax dollars, I booked my stay to include lunch. The dry bologna sandwich you receive, along with the juice bag to wash it down, is something you try to forget. As I looked at the slop my trustee, Kasey, placed before me, I began to long for the county jail government issue bologna. The Country Fried Steak was fresh from the freezer and cooked with the precision of Stevie Wonder passing his behind-the-wheel driving test. I've been hit with hockey pucks softer than this garbage. The gravy was made in the Sysco factory and this had to be their bottom-grade slush. It was as tasty as flour and water. Wait. The sides were a step down from the entree, if that is possible. Just look at the pictures and tell me, does anything look appetizing? While I am not one to ever judge a book by its cover, as looks can be deceiving. In this case, they are not, and the adage 'a picture speaks a thousand words' is spot on. The Collard Greens were obviously from an industrial can. Hey, don't get me wrong, all restaurants use a food service, but you don't have to be cheap about it and try to finagle the dining population by using the lowest quality they have to offer. The Mac & Cheese looked more like something a dog regurgitated than actual food. It was dry and pasty on the palate--just the way it is not supposed to be. The Strawberry Shortcake is also food service, not unlike the stuff you got in high school, only worse. Kudos, 1906 Farmhouse, you officially serve Swill sans the fly. At least on this visit. The Big Boy says, "I wouldn't serve this SWILL to a dead dog."
