It seems like the only time I ever go to Texas Roadhouse these days is for the Veteran's Day meal. Don't get me wrong, I would eat there if they weren't giving me a free meal, but in my case the restaurant is on the opposite side of town and I don't really go looking for steak restaurants all that often in the first place. This year was very similar to last year, though it did seem a bit busier when I got there this time around, with them only having one space available at the bar (I know better than to bother with getting a seat... that line is out the door and down the pavement quite a ways!) It was the same deal this year as last, and I went with the same thing. The steak and everything else was excellent, and I really do appreciate what Texas Roadhouse does for Veterans on this day of Remembrance. Not only do they offer this deal to all veterans on November 11th, but if you are not feeling it on that day (I get it... the lines are a bit on the insane side and the place is busy... those with issues with large crowds might want a quieter time) you can get a voucher that is good for the next seven or eight months, which is very cool of them. I asked about the statistics for the deal, and while Texas Roadhouse does not state how many meals they issue out during this time, it is offered at every restaurant in the chain. Just by watching what was happening at the Gainesville location, I would say they are easily close to a million meals are dispatched (Texas Roadhouse has ~730 proper locations spread out across the country). I made sure to tip well... the servers and bartenders and everyone else there were being run ragged, and they should be compensated appropriately! read more

Not what it used to be. First off, like everywhere the prices have skyrocketed. We asked if the have a lunch menu and instead of just saying 'no' our server just pointed at early bird menu, which starts at 3pm (it was noon) and said this and everything on the inside (which was just the menu). Our server was just plain rude. Maybe he was just rushed, but definitely not warm and fuzzy. Okay, just finished our food; it wasn't bad. I ordered a small steak, baked potato and a salad. My Caesar salad was fine. The potato was fine, though the steak was a bit meh. Cooked perfectly but very chewy; just a low quality sirloin. I'm lowkey a big sucker for this place when I want meat haha. Recently I've been getting their herb chicken as it's lower cals and good protein content, but their steaks are also always cooked well for me! Green beans are bad, but mashed & baked potatoes are yum! And obviously the rolls are the best part of this place!! In the past I've always had bad service from the waitresses there, but last night our waiter Brody was super friendly and engaging. He was quick with taking our orders and helping us, as well as just chatting with us throughout the night. Never had such a friendly waiter before, he definitely does a great job with customers! Giulia was our awesome, sweet and attentive server. This place was full and very busy. The staff and the manager were very active and helpful. Our Ribeyes were magnificent, juicy and cooked to impress the hungriest cowboy. Our sides and salads were equally delicious. The facility was kept clean and very well maintained. Located just off 75 and Archer Rd, this Texas Roadhouse was a pleasant surprise. We hadn't been to one in many, many, many years prior and decided to give it another try. From the moment we walked in, staff was pleasant and attentive making the visit very refreshing from a lot of chains as of late. The portions were plentiful and tasty as comfort food should be. We were passing through on 75 on our way home and stopped here to eat. Although packed, they were well staffed and extremely organized. We were seated within 5 minutes and our server, Gabe, came by within a few minutes. He was personable and professional and checked on us a few times. The vibe was festive and happy. Had been a while since we've eaten here. Got sat down right away, had some of those amazing roles while we waited for our server. Our server Dee took our drink orders and our appetizer. He must have checked on us no less than six times, he was amazing. We told him we would be back this weekend as we had a gift card aso spoke with a manager about how great he was, and that we were really impressed that the service and the food had gotten better since the last time we were there. Our food came out hot, my salmon was amazing. The ribs came right off the bone. My wife's steak was cooked the way she liked it. Nothing could have been better. I highly recommend texas roadhouse. Not because of the food or the atmosphere, but because of the service from one of their employees named Alyshia. She was rude and unhelpful when placing my to-go order. Whoever is in the kitchen on Saturday nights THROWS DOWN. I came on a Thursday recently and the cactus blossom was both undercooked and burnt. Then I came on a Saturday and all the food was absolutely perfect. I highly recommend the cactus blossom, rattlesnake bites, herb chicken, mashed potatoes, and caesar salad. The chicken is SO juicy which I did not expect from a steakhouse. Pro tip, ask for some extra rolls to go! Service is always a hit or miss. The quality of this restaurant surely has gone done the past few years . The only thing that was worth coming here was the rolls. They were hot and the butter was nice but I'm used to it haven't more flavor for some reason , it felt bland this time around. We got pickles for appetizer and they were so salty. They just tasted like straight salt and no pickle flavor at all. They were I overcooked and tasted like straight batter. I got a burger as my entree and it was so underwhelming. The smokehouse burger i feel like I could make it at home in fact probably better at home. It was flavorless and dry like it had been out for some time after they cooked it. The tomato was soggy along with the side pickle. The bun was stale and the burger was so small it was mostly bread. If it wasn't that my bf was hungry and he scarfed it down I would've returned it , we split it since we got full off of the buns. The fries were alright but not mind blowing. I can't understand who would play $14 for a burger and it be so mediocre . The server was not attentive to us at all and only came to see us at once the whole time after we ordered. I'm going to start by saying that Texas Roadhouse is one of my favorite restaurant chains. My husband and I went to dinner today, the parking lot was full, and there were people waiting outside, we still found quick parking. The waiting list was 30 minutes, but the time passed quickly. The atmosphere was very noisy and rowdy due to the many people. They had run out of peanuts, and I asked an employee if they had any, and she only gave me a bag, so when I was walking to my table, I told my waitress what happened and she replied, that she couldn't give me another bag of peanuts, I went to the table confused, because English is not my first language and I don't if had understand correctly, and suddenly the waitress brought me the bag of peanuts very kindly, and I was even more confused and at that moment I realized that the person I first asked for the peanuts was not my waitress. Anyway, i I didn't understand why she was so rude. I ordered a salmon with some mashed potatoes with cheese and corn. Everything was delicious, the salmon tender, well seasoned, the mashed potatoes delicious. My husband ordered an 8-ounce steak with ribs and some fries. For my first ever trip to Texas Roadhouse, I quickly learned that this place gets VERY busy on weekend evenings. We had to wait about 45 minutes for a table and the place was packed inside on a Saturday night. One thing is for sure, you will not leave Texas Roadhouse hungry. The portions are massive! We ordered the cactus blossom, cheese fries, the chicken critters and ribs combo (with sweet potato and caesar salad sides), and the chicken critters platter meal. We had more than enough leftover to take home. The service was good and the flavors were tasty. You can't really ask for anything more. With so many delicious-sounding menu items, I am sure I will be back to Texas Roadhouse again. read more

Well, I hate to break it to you, but we're absolutely SOLD on Texas Roadhouse. And in Gainesville because it's just as good here as in Ocala. Maybe even better, since it's so much closer! Look. If you go to Longhorn or Outback or one of many steakhouses around, you're going to get a good steak. What matters is the PRICE. The best bang for your buck (and we're all out for the best meal for a decent $) is Texas Roadhouse. Our server was Eli this time and I hafta say he was so prompt, fixed any potential problems before they got to that stage, just a fabulous server! He definitely went the extra mile for us and I believe in tipping big for people who go the extra mile. I have to say for every one of our visits so far, service has been consistently good except for tonight. Tonight, IT WAS EXCELLENT! I finally got to try a frozen mango margarita. Omg, sooooo good! So big it took me until the end of my meal and my husband looking at me, waiting for me to finish the darn thing! Lol You just can't down these huge things too fast or you'll suffer massive brain freeze! Even pacing myself, I had several bouts of brain freeze to deal with, but Omg it was so gooood!! I'm sorry to say we got our usual that we've fallen in love with, for my husband, the bone in ribeye with fries and a house salad; for myself, the double grilled pork chops and this time I got the portobello sauce for them but again with a plain sweet potato and house salad (minus croutons and eggs). Never enough room to try any desserts, but we've eaten well, two take-home boxes with another meal for me (1 porkchop and 1/2 my sweet potato) and the rest of his steak (just a lil bit left) cut into tiny pieces for my cat and his bone from his steak for a very happy dog! Every time we've set out to visit this place it turned out to be completly packed, so I suggest that take advantage of their waitlist before you leave home. the pulled pork was dryer than my girl after a long period. the server named John was the biggest douchebag I have ever had the displeasure of having to meet. I didn't even get to watch a football game my meal amounted to a bowl of chili. also I ain't snitch but John rung me up for a kids coke when I ordered water and then didn't even get me a coke (also how dare he assume that I am kid I am very big man). We saw her once to take our order and didn't see her for easily 30 minutes we had to ask another server hear by to get us a refil and some rolls while we were waiting. That sane waiter also brought out our food and asked if we needed anything (not our actual server) I normally love roadhouse and don't like to complain I'm a positive upbeat person but Kaylee D didn't care one bit and didn't help with our dinning service. My steak was room temperature, which again if we had a service that came by and actually communicated I could have asked to warm it up maybe, and service is 20x better with excellent service and communication anything small can be fixed. Went for dinner with my UF student. Wife and ordered steaks medium. They came out closer to well. Wife was starving snd kept hers. I asked for mine to be replaced. Waited almost an hour and the replacement never arrived. Our server was very nice and apologetic. They took the meal off my tab, like it was some big a favor. Thanks for taking off the meal I never got. Manager never showed face. After I paid my tab (didn't want them to think I was looking for any freebies) I asked to speak to the manager. Manager STILL didn't show up. After waiting and waiting, I just left so I would have time to hit a drive thru somewhere to get a quick bite before going to my hotel. It wasn't until I got to the hotel that I realized they didn't even have the decency to refund my entire meal! The meal was $19.99 plus $1.29 for a loaded baked potato (none of which I took a bite of). They refunded a flat $20.00. I know the $1.28 difference isn't a big deal, but come on ... it's the fact that they actually charged me for things I didn't even eat - not to mention the iced tea which became my dinner. I took my brother to Texas Roadhouse for dinner last night and though the restaurant was busy, I was very disappointed with the quality of the steak we ordered. I ordered a 6oz Dallas filet and my brother ordered a bone in ribeye. My brother had trouble cutting his steak with a serrated knife and my filet had toughness to it. I am used to eating prime cuts of meat and I don't think the meat we were served was close to prime although the price we paid should have been enough for prime cuts. The mashed potatoes are real potatoes. They have a wonderful flavor that ice and fluffy appropriate amount of gravy the country fried steak is not appealing at all. It's overcooked chewy. The gravy is nice. Has a smoky flavor please. 6 oz. Steak is small, sweet potato like it could have been cooked a little longer than it was actually. It's cold. Not warm at all. Steak is tough and well seasoned steak is almost well done? Medium well the red raspberry lemonade is amazing. I would highly recommend The waitress was fighting and friendly and attentive to our table. Service was not like the other Texas Roadhouses this one (Gainesville) was an all around disappointing experience. From picking the steak from there cooler. Most of the 18oz ribeyes were full of fat. Get seated waited on a waitress to greet us that also took a while order drinks never did get another refill. Steak was under cooked and very tough. This store needs a lot of help. Beyond disappointed in both the service and food The appetizer combo we ordered was not great but edible. We both ordered the steak fries as one of our sides with our entrees. Worst steak fries I've ever had, they were not even warm, overcooked and way too salty, and I always salt my fries. My other side dish was a house salad, which came with chopped egg on top of it that I didn't care for. My entree, chicken critters & ribs, was meh. Service was worse than the food. We ordered our beverages and the appetizer was brought before we even got our beverages. We said as much to the person who bought the appetizer and she brought us two glasses of water. Then my husband got his diet cola but I still hadn't gotten the sweet tea I had ordered. Our server, Malakla I think, finally came back by our table and I mentioned I still hadn't received the sweet tea I ordered. She grabbed my glass of water and started to walk away. I told her I would actually like to keep my water. After we got our entrees, she never came back by to see if everything was okay or if we needed anything. Mind you, it's 38 degree and there was absolutely no need for that behavior as lots of space was available. The family politely canceled their reservation and left the restaurant.
