Located just off 75 and Archer Rd, this Texas Roadhouse was a pleasant surprise. We hadn't been to one in many, many, many years prior and decided to give it another try. From the moment we walked in, staff was pleasant and attentive making the visit very refreshing from a lot of chains as of late. The portions were plentiful and tasty as comfort food should be. The rolls are always where it's at whether you prefer their cinnamon butter or plain butter. We didn't make it to dessert but maybe one day!

We were passing through on 75 on our way home and stopped here to eat. Although packed, they were well staffed and extremely organized. We were seated within 5 minutes and our server, Gabe, came by within a few minutes. He was personable and professional and checked on us a few times. The vibe was festive and happy. It was loud, but not so loud that we couldn't talk. We both had the herb crusted chicken, a sweet potato and corn. All perfectly cooked and delicious. Will have to try the one closer to home next time. But if you have a child at UF or live here - give them a try and ask for Gabe

Had been a while since we've eaten here. Got sat down right away, had some of those amazing roles while we waited for our server. Our server Dee took our drink orders and our appetizer. He must have checked on us no less than six times, he was amazing. We told him we would be back this weekend as we had a gift card aso spoke with a manager about how great he was, and that we were really impressed that the service and the food had gotten better since the last time we were there. Our food came out hot, my salmon was amazing. The ribs came right off the bone. My wife's steak was cooked the way she liked it. Nothing could have been better. I highly recommend texas roadhouse. The restaurant was full of folks enjoying dinner. Which is good to see as we know that Gainesville has had a number of restaurants closed. So it was good to see a restaurant thriving.

Whoever is in the kitchen on Saturday nights THROWS DOWN. I came on a Thursday recently and the cactus blossom was both undercooked and burnt. Then I came on a Saturday and all the food was absolutely perfect. I highly recommend the cactus blossom, rattlesnake bites, herb chicken, mashed potatoes, and caesar salad. The chicken is SO juicy which I did not expect from a steakhouse. Pro tip, ask for some extra rolls to go! Service is always a hit or miss. The roadhouse is always super busy so the waiters are always slammed.

Love their steaks here! Got the New York strip with loaded sweet potato and corn and everything was delicious!

Always good/affordable steakhouse option when you casually crave steak/bar food in my opinion. Buns were served hot and steak was bit overcooked but still delicious.

The quality of this restaurant surely has gone done the past few years . The only thing that was worth coming here was the rolls. They were hot and the butter was nice but I'm used to it haven't more flavor for some reason , it felt bland this time around. We got pickles for appetizer and they were so salty. They just tasted like straight salt and no pickle flavor at all. They were I overcooked and tasted like straight batter. I got a burger as my entree and it was so underwhelming. The smokehouse burger i feel like I could make it at home in fact probably better at home. It was flavorless and dry like it had been out for some time after they cooked it. The tomato was soggy along with the side pickle. The bun was stale and the burger was so small it was mostly bread. If it wasn't that my bf was hungry and he scarfed it down I would've returned it , we split it since we got full off of the buns. The fries were alright but not mind blowing. I can't understand who would play $14 for a burger and it be so mediocre . The server was not attentive to us at all and only came to see us at once the whole time after we ordered. I came one time during Father's Day and they did such a better job servicing the guests .

I'm going to start by saying that Texas Roadhouse is one of my favorite restaurant chains. My husband and I went to dinner today, the parking lot was full, and there were people waiting outside, we still found quick parking. The waiting list was 30 minutes, but the time passed quickly. The atmosphere was very noisy and rowdy due to the many people. They had run out of peanuts, and I asked an employee if they had any, and she only gave me a bag, so when I was walking to my table, I told my waitress what happened and she replied, that she couldn't give me another bag of peanuts, I went to the table confused, because English is not my first language and I don't if had understand correctly, and suddenly the waitress brought me the bag of peanuts very kindly, and I was even more confused and at that moment I realized that the person I first asked for the peanuts was not my waitress. Anyway, i I didn't understand why she was so rude. I ordered a salmon with some mashed potatoes with cheese and corn. Everything was delicious, the salmon tender, well seasoned, the mashed potatoes delicious. My husband ordered an 8-ounce steak with ribs and some fries. He told me that the steak, despite being medium well, was very dry, and the ribs were tough. It wasn't what he expected .

For my first ever trip to Texas Roadhouse, I quickly learned that this place gets VERY busy on weekend evenings. We had to wait about 45 minutes for a table and the place was packed inside on a Saturday night. One thing is for sure, you will not leave Texas Roadhouse hungry. The portions are massive! We ordered the cactus blossom, cheese fries, the chicken critters and ribs combo (with sweet potato and caesar salad sides), and the chicken critters platter meal. We had more than enough leftover to take home. The service was good and the flavors were tasty. You can't really ask for anything more. With so many delicious-sounding menu items, I am sure I will be back to Texas Roadhouse again.

    Great decor and bar area!

Well, I hate to break it to you, but we're absolutely SOLD on Texas Roadhouse. And in Gainesville because it's just as good here as in Ocala. Maybe even better, since it's so much closer! Look. If you go to Longhorn or Outback or one of many steakhouses around, you're going to get a good steak. What matters is the PRICE. The best bang for your buck (and we're all out for the best meal for a decent $) is Texas Roadhouse. Our server was Eli this time and I hafta say he was so prompt, fixed any potential problems before they got to that stage, just a fabulous server! He definitely went the extra mile for us and I believe in tipping big for people who go the extra mile. I have to say for every one of our visits so far, service has been consistently good except for tonight. Tonight, IT WAS EXCELLENT! I finally got to try a frozen mango margarita. Omg, sooooo good! So big it took me until the end of my meal and my husband looking at me, waiting for me to finish the darn thing! Lol You just can't down these huge things too fast or you'll suffer massive brain freeze! Even pacing myself, I had several bouts of brain freeze to deal with, but Omg it was so gooood!! I'm sorry to say we got our usual that we've fallen in love with, for my husband, the bone in ribeye with fries and a house salad; for myself, the double grilled pork chops and this time I got the portobello sauce for them but again with a plain sweet potato and house salad (minus croutons and eggs). Never enough room to try any desserts, but we've eaten well, two take-home boxes with another meal for me (1 porkchop and 1/2 my sweet potato) and the rest of his steak (just a lil bit left) cut into tiny pieces for my cat and his bone from his steak for a very happy dog! Hot, freshly cooked food, good service, country ambience, darned decent prices, what more could you ask for?

Our server was really kind and attentive, even though the place was very crowded. It's decorated in a very cute way and stays on theme. The food was good and a huge portion! And as always, amazing bread & cinnamon butter.

Needless to say this the Metro diner truly surpassed my expectations. We walked in and were greeted immediately and asked if we would like to sit outside which is a covered area or indoors. We chose inside given it being a hot humid day and wanting that extra comfort. The vibe felt amazing with all the smiles and yes even though busy all the wait staff was hopping doing their business! We were seated and told about the specials and given the menu. I was unsure what I wanted because I think I could have eaten a little bit of everything! I did ask the waitress a couple of suggestions and one of them was the pancakes I had chosen. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner all day! How cool is that and rare. They had a chicken and waffle special that was actually half a chicken ( pieces ) fried with Belgium waffles, powdered sugar and sweet strawberry butter served with their signature sweet and spicy sauce. I'll be honest when I had seen someone else get their plate I was surprised. It looked absolutely incredible and well tremendous. On their specials they had banana pudding pancakes or waffles, this also sounded amazing. It had walnuts, butter and powdered sugar and definitely banana. I am most certainly glad that I chose this as it was incredibly. Super fluffy, flavorful and the banana was not overwhelming there was a perfect balance of flavors. There was a sauce on them that I assume was the banana pudding. It was light and just enough to not overpower the pancake itself. We had also ordered croissant French toast and my son absolutely loved them. They were crispy on the outside yet fluffy and flavorful with a fantastic texture topped with some powdered sugar. Some ordered hash browns, these were also delicious and homemade with a great texture and the portion like all the other dishes pretty large. We had all tried the biscuits and gravy. These too were delicious with such a nice balance of flavors. The biscuits indeed homemade. We were all very pleased with everything. Some eggs over easy and bacon cooked perfectly. The coffee honestly the best I've had in years. I'm a coffee drinker and I cannot figure this coffee was outstanding! I had four cups and wish for more ha ha. Best of all I must compliment the service. I have not been to a restaurant of any sort with such attentive service, quality service as we received here in years. The waitress kept refilling my coffee and water, brought my son more soda ( even a container to take his home ) asked everyone if they needed anything at appropriate times and was extremely kind and considerate. I will be back and I highly recommend the Metro Diner for a great meal, quality service and relaxed environment that you will enjoy. 1906 Farmhouse 25405 W Newberry Rd, Newberry, FL 32669…read more ***SWILL ALERT*** Pulling up to the hitchin' post at the 1906 Farmhouse, all seemed well and fine. I don't mind themed restaurants (they can be fun). This place was designed to model the Farmhouse where the ranch hands gathered for meals before and after a long day of riding. I dug it. It gave off a warm, welcoming, one-of-the-family vibe. Kasey was my server for the meal and she was frowning before I asked one question. I placed an order for one Country Fried Steak with sides of Collard Greens and Mac & Cheese, along with some Strawberry Shortcake to round out the meal. I soon saw Cantankerous Kasey begrudgingly returning with my victuals. I don't understand this attitude. Am I supposed to be grateful she deigned to work here? Anyway, if any of you are curious like me, you may have often wondered what it was like to spend a day in jail. To that end, I admit, I got myself hauled off to the County Hoosegow. Wanting to make the most out of my tax dollars, I booked my stay to include lunch. The dry bologna sandwich you receive, along with the juice bag to wash it down, is something you try to forget. As I looked at the slop my trustee, Kasey, placed before me, I began to long for the county jail government issue bologna. The Country Fried Steak was fresh from the freezer and cooked with the precision of Stevie Wonder passing his behind-the-wheel driving test. I've been hit with hockey pucks softer than this garbage. The gravy was made in the Sysco factory and this had to be their bottom-grade slush. It was as tasty as flour and water. Wait. The sides were a step down from the entree, if that is possible. Just look at the pictures and tell me, does anything look appetizing? While I am not one to ever judge a book by its cover, as looks can be deceiving. In this case, they are not, and the adage 'a picture speaks a thousand words' is spot on. The Collard Greens were obviously from an industrial can. Hey, don't get me wrong, all restaurants use a food service, but you don't have to be cheap about it and try to finagle the dining population by using the lowest quality they have to offer. The Mac & Cheese looked more like something a dog regurgitated than actual food. It was dry and pasty on the palate--just the way it is not supposed to be. The Strawberry Shortcake is also food service, not unlike the stuff you got in high school, only worse. Kudos, 1906 Farmhouse, you officially serve Swill sans the fly. At least on this visit. The Big Boy says, "I wouldn't serve this SWILL to a dead dog."
