Came to Texas Roadhouse for Bday dinner. Service was great and food was awesome. We had the Dallas Filet and Sirloin & shrimp. Also, had a loaded baked potato and bowl of chili. Chili is really good with onions and cheese on top. Nice flavor although mild. Loaded baked potato was big and had lots of butter, sour cream, cheese, and bacon bits. Filet was perfect at medium rare. The sirloin was a bit overcooked. Shrimp was good and came on skewers. They don't have cocktail sauce so our server said she could make us some. She did a fantastic job and tasted great. Drinks came with a tall cold beer and a large margarita with extra shot of Don Julio. Full bar available. This location is pretty busy so come early or late. We went early because this place looks like it gets packed. I could see a visit going good or bad based on the wait. Prices were higher but they do have some specials mon-thurs before 6pm. Food tasted pretty good! We had pork sandwich and 6oz sirloin. The fries are steak fries and were not great in my opinion. Seasoning was light and they were a little soggy somehow. They had some good drinks and tasted good. The table got bread and peanuts which eas a nice positive because food took a good half hour to cone out even before they got busy. I'm wondering if thwy lost the order or something because it eas abnormally long wait for places like this. Bathrooms were meh. Clean enough. Service was OK. Clearly this restaurant needs new leadership . After waiting 45 min at 3;00 pm to be seated (we had a reservation) . We ordered and it took 45 minutes to be served . Mind you it has never taken 45 minutes to cook a steak and serve vegetables and baked potatoes that have already been cooked . I ordered the road kill ... essentially a hamburger without the bun medium . When it came out it was well done ... both dry and rubbery . Waitress did not come back to see if things were prepared properly for 20 minutes . At that time she offered to have my meal redone . I'm not kidding it took 30 to get new plate . Some semblance of a manager came out the food . I guess that's standard for a refire. Said nothing along the lines of an apology . I said that it took way too long and that I was not going to have 6 others watch me eat and hold them up ... keep in mind we were approaching two and a half hours . Manager had absolutely no service recovery skills . Offered to box up meal ... I told him that was not necessary as I never planned to eat anything from this place again . No offer to comp bill , nothing . I spoke to him and shared experience and he said he didn't know why I received such poor service . Sad he just came on his shift . He did not say he would look into it and take any corrective action . Nothing . Waitress saw me leaving restaurant and apologized . I feel she did a fair job . It's not that they messed up my steak salad and served salty and rubbery corn, it's how they didn't fix it by comping the messed up meal. Won't be back. Here's the thing, you go in with the intention of dropping good, hard earned money on cocktails, appetizers which, we ordered 2 and they only brought 1, steak dinners, the whole nine! But when they fall short on a dinner and that person sits there waiting for their food to be made right while their counterpart wraps up their meal, it ruins the experience. Haven't been to TR in a while. We decided to try it after years of being away. We were very satisfied with the experience. The filet and baked potato were excellent. Cooked perfectly. Even though I was extremely disappointed with his horrible attitude and unprofessionalism I still rated my experience as 4 stars. Kasey & Lexi saved my experience and they both were very attentive accommodating and courteous. We enjoyed the grilled shrimp with a loaded baked potato and steak fries and the three piece catfish with a loaded baked potato and Caesar salad. Everything was delicious. This was the first time at this Texas Roadhouse location. We went there the day before Valentine's Day. I got the 14oz Ft Worth Ribeye with fries and house salad. I love their Ribeyes!!! Very good flavor and very tender. Love the fries; very good flavor. The only negative about the meal I have is they put the steak directly on top of ALL the fries which made them soggy. As soon as they put the plate down I immediately removed the steak off the fries and put it onto another plate!!! Luckily it didn't affect all the fries "this time". * Don't put the steak on top of fries unless we "the customer" requested it!!!! I HATE soggy fries. My wife ordered the 12oz Prime Rib. She loved it and had perfect flavor! Both salads were great and very tasty. Our waitress was very friendly. In my opinion; the food is a 5 star! Went to Texas Roadhouse and had a pretty frustrating experience. My boyfriend ordered the roadkill steak medium rare, but it came out extremely rare like barely cooked. We let our server know, and while she was nice about it, she didn't offer to comp or remove it from the bill, just took it back. After that, we waited another 30 minutes with no update. At that point, we ended up canceling the order and leaving. It was disappointing because the service started off friendly, but the way the situation was handled wasn't great at all. read more

So I suggested this spot and we headed over. We joined the wait list on the way, which I love this feature. We arrived and were seated in about 5 minutes. While being shown to our table the hostess asked if we wanted rolls, we said yes and she said they will be up in a few minutes. Ok, no biggie. We were seated and given menus. About 10 minutes went by and I saw a server walking by waiting on other tables so I asked if she knew who our server was. She said she could help us. We ordered drinks and asked for rolls. We needed a few more minutes to decide on food. She came back a few minutes later and we put our food orders in. My sister and I both ordered 14oz Ribeye's with sides and my son a tenders Ranger meal. My sister ordered her steak medium rare with chili and a baked potato. I ordered my medium with baked potato and baked sweet potato (I love my carbs). A few minutes later we saw all the tables around us had their rolls so they definitely had them. Tables that were seated after us had their rolls. About 15 minutes later, people who'd ordered after us even had their meals. I flagged down our server and asked about the status of our order she said our food was done and in the window. A few minutes later our server came by and said "oh, yeah your food" and walked away. Well she still didn't come back for 10 more minutes with our food. When we received our food at which time we finally received rolls, everything was cold, not even warm. The potatoes which hold in heat were even cold, the chili that sits in a heater was cold. My sister's Ribeye was well done. Our server did not come back to check on us. I finally went to go find a manager so I went to the hostess stand. The lady called a manger who didn't come so finally she went to the back and got her. The manager came out and asked me what the issue was. I stated everything that had occurred. She asked me where I was sitting, I told her the area, and I asked her to follow me. She kept asking me which table, I was irritated and finally told her I don't work here, I don't know your table numbers, why don't you follow me, which she finally did. The manager then took all of our food back to remake everything. It took less than 10 minutes and everything came out hot and we also received rolls. The apologized multiple times and stated the server did admit she forgot about us and didn't know why she didn't come to our table when we were seated. It was her area and she knew better. This was such a disappointment. I'm glad the manager made it right, but with no discount and wasted time, it really was completely unacceptable. First let me say that Brendan was 5Stars on his own. He sat with me and answered my questions patiently and came back several times to ensure each course of my meal was as I expected. I ordered the 8oz sirloin based on Brendan's recommendation and though I was skeptical I ordered it. I've never had a sirloin that was so tender, my medium steak was perfect! All I required was smothered onions, no sauce, and it was seasoned well. I began with the house salad. The house salad came with tomatoes, cheese and croutons. They didn't have a vinaigrette but that was ok because it was still good. My steak came with a sweet potato, you can choose 2 sides. Again, delicious. The butter isn't my taste but it didn't require it. Nor did the sweet rolls. I came alone and they were able to sit me at a singles booth or for couples within 10 minutes. Our waiter was very friendly came over, got our drinks and appetizers made.Some suggestions came back with our drinks and winahead and grabbed our order. He was friendly. When we placed our order, we asked if our salads would come out first.He said yes they will so we placed the order with salads. The salads did not come out first.He gave us a free appetizer for next time and apologized. I never thought I'd be doing a review of Texas Roadhouse, but hey why not? My mom really wanted to come here. Reluctantly, I went. I am going to be honest the food was actually pretty good. Our server was also super nice as well. I had the smoother chicken with brown gravy topped with onions of mushrooms. Very flavorful. My mom got the ribeye with a side of ribs. This lady is picky about her food, but she loved the food which made me happy because I was really hesitant to come here. My mom also ate four rolls alone during are visit, so I can say with confidence that she enjoyed the food. The only con from the experience would have to be the wait time. I believe that time frame for waiting was almost 90 minutes. Overall, it doesn't hurt to try a place you haven't went in years. You may be pleasantly surprised. read more

Theres ALWAYS a wait for rolls you can't even order online because it's always disabled.

I am totally dis-satisfied with the quality of service my wife and I received on 9 June 2026. We arrived sometime after 6PM. and of course it was somewhat busy. Our waiter, Tierra, took our order and completely forgot about us, to include our food which we waited for close to a half an hour. I had to get the manager to get our food which was well below the standard we are used too. The steaks were tough as shoe leather. There is absolutely no consistency at all in the way the steaks are prepared. Sometimes you may come in and the steaks are good, next time the steaks will taste like a flip flop or a piece of tire tread. I say all this to say, for the amount of money we spend there should be substantial consistency when it comes to cooking a 23 oz Porterhouse T-bone steak. Apparently there seems to be a breakdown in how the food is prepared and there should be a standard across the board on how these expensive cuts of meat are cooked. I suggest there should be some type of vetting for the cooks to ensure they take the time to consistently prepare and cook them to perfection. read more

The "manager", and i use that word loosely, comes over and proceeds to tell us he took $20 off our check. I should have told him he can eat what we ordered, cause we're done. We frequent Texas Roadhouses and have been to at least 20 all across the country, due to our strange animal-based diets, it limits where we can eat. This was by far THE BEST Texas Roadhouse location we have been to. I'm not sure what they are doing differently here than the others, but everything was top tier. The food quality and the staff truly set this experience apart from others. Everyone was very nice. Chase was our server, and he was absolutely phenomenal. His quality of work is so top-notch that he could easily be working in a michelin-starred restaurant. We have never received such amazing service at a Texas Roadhouse. He was extremely attentive and very helpful! The food was truly fantastic. We ordered the ribeye, filet, new york strip, and ribs. All very high quality and cooked to perfection. The ribs, however, were the best ribs we have ever had at a traditional restaurant, and we love barbecue. Absolutely mind-blowing coming from a Texas Roadhouse. Normally, they are dry, but these fell right off the bone!!! If we are ever back in the Jacksonville area, we will definitely go to this Texas Roadhouse and ask for Chase again! My wife ordered the 14 oz prime rib. At best it should be called the 12 oz. She brought home the leftovers (read:my dinner) and although it was well prepared, it was VERY fatty. I generally wouldn't be crying about that (fat is flavor), but nearly 3oz's? Yeah, as a matter of fact I did trim and weigh it. I'm not usually that anal, but when I moved the lovely piece of beef in the tray, there was a huge piece of fat. Again, I generally like fat, but that was a bit much. read more

I guess the concensus is that this is the best place to eat in River City. It probably is the best steak as Longhorn and Outback are the only other options. There is always a wait, I don't mind a few minutes but there is sometimes a wait of two hours. I will not be doing that. The steaks are good for a commercial, budget friendly steakhouse. They are cooked to the requested temp and have a good seasoning. You will not need steak sauce to add flavor. They bread is a yeast roll and have a firm crust and a soft center, served with cinnamon butter. If you order a salad it always comes before the meal, not with it as seems to be the new way to serve a salad. They have an app called an onion petal or something like that. It is far superior to what some other chains do with the same type of app. The service is always excellent. This must be the culture of the restaurant as most places in the area (and there are a lot) do not give this kind of service. When you are seated, the hostess puts a tag on your table. This tells the manger that he or she has not stopped by yet. A manager will always speak to you here. The servers go above and beyond to ensure you have a good experience. They check in after your food is served at the appropriate time, never let your drink get empty, then check in regularly. My only complaint is the loud music. It is kind of a bar atmosphere throught the place. It won't stop me from going but I do feel it is a bit excessive. read more

I rarely will write a review like this, frankly because I RARELY am the recipient of either such garbage food or garbage service or both which goes to this location. First off, I love Texas Roadhouse-even though they have changed over the years, the food has been pretty decent, at all the locations in different states during visits- always consistent good food. NOT HERE, REPEAT NOT HERE. I ordered the steak shrimp combo and was served just shrimp, got some attitude from the waitress-blah blah brought out the burnt steak and oh, the shrimp the most over cooked limp mushy things I have ever stuck in my mouth- now that's funny cause nobody wants limp mushy shrimp. So I sent it all back and just said I will eat the potato.....ok, so Miss manager comes over to see the problem and wants to send more food out, to which is a big NO for me after reading Kitchen Confidential. I said no, I will just eat the potato and be fine. Considering the food was garbage, the floors were sticky like a 70's XXX movie I would think this place would comp that potato but nope, they charged me. If you enjoy dung service and dung food then this is your place. This place was packed and I don't know why, because I witnessed horrible service and food as I sat there and hardly a complaint. This was my second time visiting this restaurant. My first visit was excellent and my ribeye steak and sides were perfect and service was way above average, so I was looking forward to dinner again. However on this visit, the same ribeye order was full of marbled fat and gristle (even hard to cut with a steak knife). Service was very slow and the kitchen made numerous mistakes. Finally when our meals were served after a very long wait one of my sides was missing a salad I had ordered. The waitress was mad that my salad was not out earlier as the runner in the kitchen totally dropped the ball. One of my sides was on the cold side as it obviously had been sitting out before it was served. There was no offer of compensation by the restaurant. After not seeing the waitress for a very long time I paid the bill electronically so I could leave. Not sure if this was just a bad night for this restaurant based on my initial visit. read more
