Although my server had a few tables, she did a great job keeping us updated on our order and making sure our drinks stayed full, which I always appreciate. What a great location. The server we had was super sweet. This was my first time at any Cracker Barrel and it exceeded my expectations.

Cracker Barrel has always been the feeling of home and comfort to me. It was where my dad would take me for a meal and we would catch up. This recent visit will have me happy to do a little forgetting. Food- 2/10. The only thing that was ok on this visit was my sons fries. It was clear that my chicken fried chicken and his burger were made and set aside to wait on fresh fries. The fries were perfect, hot and crisp. His burger was cold and the bun starting to go soggy. My chicken was cold, the breading was a tough yet soggy mess and the gravy had congealed to a near solid state. My carrots were cold and mush and the hashbrowns casserole was also cold. Service-2/10. The staff clearly had regulars or friends that came that they were happy to pass their workday with but that meant we were just sitting there waiting. Over 15 minutes for our drinks and another 30 minutes for food after our order was placed. Atmosphere-9/10. The stores have clearly been getting makeovers as the dinning area was entirely new and fresh. I would have really enjoyed the visit if I was basing it on the ambiance alone. read more

The General Store always conjures up a sweet memory when you look at the candy. I was seated by the door, not a place I'd really recommend due to the traffic of diners coming and going. My server arrived, no introduction, and asked what I'd like to drink. I ordered a decaf coffee. I was in the mood for pancakes and they didn't disappoint (my stomach could only handle 1, sadly ). The pancake sunrise offers 2 pancakes and either 2 eggs (cooked to your preference) or 2 sausages/bacon. I picked the eggs, soft scrambled and added a fruit cup. Cracker Barrel usually has a line due to the close proximity to the interstate and people traveling from outside the southeast thinking this is the best southern food available. That would be a corporate decision and probably due to rising food cost making proving some of these options unreasonable. You either love this place and appreciate it for what it is, or you don't. I appreciate it for what it is. I can get seated pretty quickly when they aren't slammed. There are plenty of unique items in their stores to check out while you wait, if you need to. After getting seated we were waited on fairly quickly. It's not a Michelin rated place, but the food is tasty, comes out quick, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg to eat there. You can look at all the wall decorations if you have to wait. The tap water has a different taste so I wouldn't get water there again. Locals may be used to it. I also didn't get my orange juice I ordered and they graciously removed it from the bill. The water was quite pleasant and refilled drinks and asked if we needed anything else at decent intervals. We didn't feel rushed at all and the place was mostly full when we left. read more

Service and ambiance top notch as with all the stores. Never usually have breakfast at any Cracker Barrel and today was the last. Only because the breakfast food flavors do not match my taste and what flavors I am use to when it comes to the water maple syrup they use or tasteless pork sausage patties that had a uniquely different taste than the usual pork sausage patties elsewhere. Pancakes were very oily as they must have soaked in cold oil on the flattop and were not cooked with usual brown outer skin as in most other restaurants. Good dinner but not for breakfast. We went today at about 4:00. There was another couple waiting to be seated. It probably took 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge there was an ever-growing line to be seated, but nobody apparently assigned to seat people. When we finally got seated, our server promptly took our order. But it probably took 20 minutes for anything to arrive. They brought me a water, but never brought my wife the tea she ordered. They brought me steak and shrimp, which is not what I ordered. After about 10 minutes they brought the potato and salad. The salad looked good, but it came with the tiniest amount of dressing I've ever received. This was bad service and backwards meal delivery. As we were leaving the cashier asked how everything went. I told her, honestly, this wasn't good. From arrival through delivery, every aspect of that meal was not good. She asked me to wait as she wanted to let the manager make it right. I told her that was not necessary, I'm happy to pay and just go. She kept insisting and repeatedly attempted to call a manager. They never answered her. I have to assume then that management at this location is probably terrible. The only decent employees we encountered were the two cashiers at the end, but I could feel their frustration as management didn't respond to their multiple calls for assistance. Cracker Barrel needs to do a quality audit on this place. They are tarnishing an otherwise good name. read more

I got a hamburger which is a rare order for me at CB. I ate half at the table and took the other half to go. It had the oddest flavor...not sure if the meat was near expiration or the grease was very old. I tasted almost like plastic - frozen, thawed, refrozen? I don't know. This is not my usual CB but was near another place I was visiting. The service was excellent so I have no complaints there. Hostess, waitress, and cashier were all friendly and attentive. Wow- the wait to be seated. We hit this location up because I was getting dropped off at the airport early. There were a couple of men waiting at the hostess stand who looked to be growing impatient- considering we stood there for 8 minutes with no one to greet any of us before the hostess showed up to take the guys to a table- she then proceeded to run around in the dining room looking for breakfast menus (none were up front at the hostess stand) and got their drink order before returning to us. Now we are 20 minutes in and just getting seated with no menus. A line had grown behind us- so the hostess just dropped us and disappeared. In a few minutes we were greeted by our server and this is where things finally started to go right- except we ordered from memory, because guess what?!?!? Still no menus! Ha-Ha. John went with the country boy breakfast and poor thing went with fried apples (which he doesn't even care for) because he didn't have the list of optional sides in front of him- he temporarily forgot he gets grits. Brain fart. I wanted the hashbrown casserole with bacon- but I confused my server because they are currently running a limited time offer that is a hashbrown scramble- so she ran back to confirm which one I wanted. Great food and great service. The grandma's sampler has it all for breakfast. Coming with pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, country ham, and their signature hashbrown casserole it covers all the bases. The build your own breakfast allows you to create exactly what you want. You can also get lunch/dinner meals if not in the mood for breakfast. To top it off plenty of desserts available and now serving beer which I didn't know. Shopping before or after your meal is a treat too. Old fashioned candies from the past and their own offerings along with seasonal items like clothing and gift items. Always enjoy seeing what they have in the shop. We love Crackle Barrel. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very nice. Our waitress was super nice. Her name was Sky, it said on the name tag. So if you're the owner and you see this please give her a raise please. We ordered takeout knowing how busy they are on a Sunday and having experienced horrible service at least three times, we didn't mind waiting an extra 20 minutes or so for to go food because the food is usually good! It's always a mad house here so we weren't expecting anything at all as far as ambiance don't come here if you want a chill breakfast experience, it's loud and packed. We spent 30 minutes after our pickup time waiting for someone to even speak to us after being met with "let me go get a to go specialist" about five times. After we were given the run around we got our food. They forgot the gravy for my biscuits and gravy. When we went back in, we were again, given the run around for another 20 minutes. At this point our food is cold we're waiting and an employee looks at our receipt and tells us "oh but that was a while ago" YES IT WAS! Writing this review still waiting for my gravy. Service for dine in is consistently terrible they have servers and managers that don't care if you enjoy anything. To go is also terrible! Maybe find a local place to eat where they care about your time and money. Food is good but not good enough to excuse the horrible service all around. read more

Ok guys,I admit CBOCS is a restaurant chain at the end of the day and the food is not notorious but there is something very "comforting" about the whole experience. As you walk in it smells like "a grandmas house", then the vintage trinkets and the hostess add another layer of warmth. The unassuming paper menu and the attentive, sweet and somehow southern sounding waitress all part of the experience. Let me start by saying the server was extremely pleasant and friendly. After that though it does go downhill quite fast. Burnt and super dry fried chicken served with water logged and bland corn kernels. The only tasty thing on the plate was the mac n cheese. However this isn't even why I'm penning this review. The manager of this location. A very unpleasant and unprofessional man followed me out the door and proceeded to accuse me of leaving without paying. My dining partner was inside treating me to this meal and in addition to the meal I was also carrying a bagged box of candy that I had purchased for myself inside the store. Now this manager after accusing me of dine and dash loudly in front of at least 20 other people runs back inside after I tell him my friend is paying. I follow him inside and demand an apology, however he doesn't believe I'm owed one. Apparently Cracker Barrel is allowed to lob baseless accusations at customers in front of people without any need to make it right after. Yes I did get loud with him at this point, but rightfully so. Still instead of just saying he was sorry for the mistake or misunderstanding he chose to instead call the police. That wouldn't bother me because the police would only ask me to leave, which we were doing once my friend finshed paying. I will never visit a cracker barrel again and I have contacted my attorney to see what legal options I have available. Avoid Cracker Barrel at all costs. read more

First thing first when we walked in the hostess (Jasmine) was astonishingly rude to me and my family she gave us many dirty looks when we're just trying to order our food. I'm all for having opinions on people but leave that out of a professional establishment. Also the food was bland and nasty the eggs were runny and tasted like it came out of the microwave (cheese was not melted). They also were real unprofessional and inexperienced with their positions. Hopefully soon this establishment will improve their performance as I have visited Cracker Barrel's in the past and this was by far the worst experience I've ever had. read more
