Ordered a cheese steak; requested the sandwich to come with only MEAT and CHEESE. Drive thru cashier could not take a simple order; she asked me to repeat myself THREE times and still managed to fuck it up. Great food.. But major issues with homeless campground behind the property. People in the rear of building asking for money or throwing things at cars. Owners put up fence but didn't have the homeless campground removed or cleaned out. So the people are still back there and behind the old Pizza Hut. Owners need to clean up and remove the squatter's before people get hurt or worse. Dangerous Be careful. Per owners request I have removed the images of what's occuring behind the property.. Tunis is a local staple with a cult following. I was first introduced to them by a friend of mine who said you have to try them as you love lemon pepper wings. He took me deep into the Northside off Soutel and I had heard about that side of town not being safe but I braved it and got out the car. The staff was so nice and my food was hot, fresh ans packed with flavour. They quickly made a fan out of me and I have been going since. Not too good at all! The young lady at the counter was friendly enough. But, she was not a good commutator at all. Ernie & I ordered a quick burger, fries and water for dine in. The sign said the Cheeseburger combo was $4.99. She failed to tell us the cheese was not included and was extra, even though the picture of the combo shows cheese, and we ordered two cups of water. She also failed to tell us that there was an extra charge for water as well. I don't mind paying for water, but the Order Taker/Cashier should let the Customers know about the extra charge. The burger and fries were okay. The girl went to the bathroom ahead of me and then I went. The sink was dry. Everyone, especially an employee should always wash their hands no matter what they do in the bathroom! Sorry to say, we will not ever be back. Great food! The issue is the wait to get your food. Called in an order at 840p and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. I arrived at 9p and was told to park and they would bring it to my car. It has been a while since I've been here but I must say that I always enjoy what I get and this trip didn't fall short of the expectations that I've had. I haven't had an opportunity to try everything but I can say that their Fish baskets are delicious and I would have to say the Cajun Ranch and Lemon Pepper wings are my favorites. I've also tried the Philly Cheesesteak and it was even good. For the first time I tried the Red Velvet Cake that's made by Cupcake Connection and I almost texted them for a whole cake. It was so moist and delicious I was upset when the last bite was gone. I will definitely be going back for more and I might try something new on the menu as well. The first time I went to Tunis, I ordered fish and fried mushrooms. The mushrooms were the best I ever had--each individually fried to golden perfection. I told all my family and friends how good the food was and recommended they try it. The second time I went, the fried mushrooms I received were fried in one large super-sized softball clump. While the outside was fried, when you pulled the mushrooms apart, you ended up eating raw mushy breading. Horrible!!!! Assuming the cook just had a bad day, I give them a third chance with another order today. Horrible, horrible, horrible! The cook made no attempt to separate the giant clump of what apparently were frozen breaded mushrooms frozen into a solid clump. He just threw the giant ball into the fryer and fried them. I got a super-sized softball clump of mushrooms fried together in a single clump. I tried breaking them apart to eat, but couldn't stomach the raw breading--I threw the away. What can I say? The food is always good. The food is always hot. The selection of choices is excellent. I either order online or when I am near just walk in and it is always ready in a timely manner. I used the Drive Thru today, so I cannot speak for the interior. My order was taken quickly and I pulled up to the window to pay. I ordered two Gyros ($6.99 each) She asked if I wanted to add fries, I said yes. The total was $17.10 with taxes. So a $1 more for fries and they give you plenty. I was asked to pull up and wait while my order was made. I probably waited less then 10 minutes. My gyros are piping hot, fully dressed and wrapped in thick foil. The fries are lightly seasoned and plentiful. The standard gyro comes with red onion, tomato, lettuce and plenty of tzatziki on toasted flatbread. Way more than I can eat. I eat half and I feel like I am good for the day. I'm ready for a nap. The nice thing is that even with a 10 minute drive back, my food wasn't soggy. And she popped a few packets of ketchup in the bag for those fries. I usually visit the one over on the Westside or Orange Park, but this one is pretty good. They were pretty busy today- as it was lunchtime when I came by. I forgot to snap photos. I'm sure I will be back now that I am working in the area. read more
