We dined here for a late lunch. The air conditioner was not working properly. Our dining experience was unpleasant to say the least. We ate the appetizer but took our entrees to go. On this night the waiter was inattentive and needed reminding of things asked for. The Ribeye steak I ordered is probably one of the worst steaks from a restaurant I've had. What is going on here? Ate Tuesday 2/24. Worst service I have ever had here!!! Had to ask waitress what was taking the appetizer so long, then had to ask about salads and finally the main course! We were there for over 1.75 hours!! Then the steaks, which have always been good, came out so dry. The clue should have been the lack of juice on the plate. I noticed construction equipment in the parking lot, but didn't see anything signs of work in the dining areas. Maybe the work was in the kitchen. If it was and it caused these issues, maybe they should have closed for repairs rather than disappoint customers. Ironically a relative also went there on 2/28 and had the same issue with their steaks. Texas Roadhouse has been my go to steak place for years. Hopefully this was a fluke!! read more

We checked in at 12:51 and there was a wait for 40 minutes, okay no problem, waited and when we sat down at 1:50, only received appetizers by 3 pm there was still no food and this just took all afternoon to get food. We went there to eat last night , we had some drinks then ordered our food. It was around 6:30 ish. I had a Ribeye and my wife had the ribs. My other two friends had steaks . We each had 2 sides with our order . When the food got to our table it was COLD, ALL of it. The cheese wasent even melted on our potato. I picked up my steak, cold, I put my finger in the potato, the center was cold. It was my birthday dinner, it sucked. Ruined the night. The manager did take the food off of our bill. Very few chain restaurants get a 5-star from me. We have eaten here about a half dozen times, excellent every time. The beef is high quality, steaks are cooked to precise doneness. Sides are great. The steaks were good. Side were fresh; as was the salad. The only hold back is they don't take reservations, you have to join their waitlist. When a person is driving 30 minutes to eat here, you don't want to wait another 15 to 30 minutes. Service was prompt and friendly. read more

This is normally an very busy restaurant, but due to an event it was not the normal hour wait, it was still busy but the wait was only a few minutes. We were seated and received the hot rolls with butter which they are known for, just as delicious as remembered. We also ordered the flavored iced tea, honestly had better and was lackluster, but the grilled shrimp appetizer was great. Really liked the fresh crisp salad, as this was a good setup to the entrees. The sirloin combo with the ribs was good, the sweet potato made the meal for me along with the sirloin, the ribs flavor was missing but were tender. The roadkill was good with the onions and mushrooms, but was more like a burger patty. **All Bad, so reader BEWARE: Please Note: i'm only speaking on the experience that I had in 2021 during the UL/SLCC Graduations, I have not visited this location since). If I could give them a zero I would. ( experience occurred in 2021) Waited for almost two hours which a wait was excepted because this location is very busy (seeing as it's the only one on the area). After changing our party size we noticed other individuals where still being seated and we were not. I asked the hostess what was the issue and she advised me due to the party size and the fact other guests weren't leaving who had been in the restaurant well over 2/3 hours. I asked her if there was a time maximum for large parties, and the hostess became very rude including taking several long deep sighs whole speaking to me. She continued by rolling her eyes and stating we would be seated shortly. At this time I asked to speak to the manager which advised me she was the manager. interrupting me and walked away while I was speaking to her. Come to find out she was the hostess and called the manager over to assistance. We kept hearing about Texas Roadhouse, so we had to try it. We knew we were in for a wait, it being Sunday evening and all. No strangers to crowds being from CA and we are patient people-we just wanted good food and didn't mind the wait. We got there at 5:30 pm and had a 7:15 movie. What I don't understand and will not condone are bullshit excuses and hiding behind "company policy." We are a party of 4 adults and 6 kids-we were told we were going to be seated at a specific table and the party at that table had been there for 1 hour and 23 minutes and should be finishing up. We were already on the waitlist when we arrived and while we waited two large parties were seated that were not on the waitlist. We waited for 30 minutes when we went inside to use the facilities. I asked about 2 empty tables that we could squeeze into being mostly kids and were told those tables didn't have a server. I then asked to speak to a manager to see if there was a contingency plan for empty tables and he informed me that servers are only allowed 3 tables, I asked the manager if he could roll up his sleeves and help that section as I have seen many managers do to which he informed me that he is not allowed to take tips. I have a hard time thinking that Texas Roadhouse Corporate would be okay with loosing money, knowing tables are being left empty with a manager, 2 people at the hostess area and 3 "seaters" just hanging out waiting for tables to empty. There were more that a dozen people waiting outside. After almost 45 minutes and a pointless conversation with so called management- we had to leave-we'll never know if the food was good as we won't be coming back. read more

Texas Roadhouse is one of my favorite restaurants, we visit often, in many different locations. It never ceases to amaze me how busy they are but the service is always so great. Well, this is the first bad experience I've had. Extremely slow service and also not very clean, I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's poorly managed. I've been at the table over an hour and we have not had our entrees yet. I'll let you know if the food is ok if it ever gets here. The food finally arrived and unfortunately everything was only slightly warm. My mother had a NY Strip and it was not hot as you would expect. My wife and I had the country fried chicken, it normally comes out so hot it needs a minute to cool, but not this time. It had to have been sitting out 10 minutes or so before being delivered to our table. I'm extremely disappointed by our experience here. Lafayette has so many great restaurants to choose from and I truly regret coming to this place. Management needs to step up! I was going to give a 3 star review, but once the food arrived cold I'm not feeling so generous. The odds of me returning to this location are zero unless I hear reports of improvement. read more

This restaurant was PACKED on a Wednesday evening. It's obviously popular. Service was fair, mostly dealing with problems caused by corporate: inaccurate website info, including NO happy hour, conflicting program details, and such. Our server tried, but, was obviously frustrated by the time we arrived at 5pm. We had ribs and prime rib. The ribs did fall off the bone, looked good, but had minimal flavor... minimal meat flavor and minimal cooking flavor. The prime rib was questionable to me. Its appearance seemed artificial, like it was a processed meat product. Very little marbling (almost none), a crust that looked artificial as if it was cosmetic, and a texture that seemed chemically tenderized. Very little flavor without the au jus. The sides were good. The sweet potatoes were tender and flavorful... beyond natural sweetness, though. The green beans were ok. Prepared ok. Definitely not fresh... I'm guessing frozen, not canned. The dinner rolls were also flavorless. The side spread may be flavorful. We passed on it. All in all, it was just ok. We won't go again, but, we made it fun! read more

The Manager may be nice but it was difficult to enjoy him because he really thinks his sarcasm is funny but I personally don't like it and I love all things sarcastic and facetious. After a LONG drive from Houston after evacuating from New Orleans three days ago we decided to come to Lafayette to be closer to home. We arrived at the restaurant at 810 and stood in line behind a gentleman who was returning an order that was wrong. By the time we got up the window we had passed the time to make an order to go. The young man explained that we could not place an order because of the time, but he'd ask his manager. The manager came out and listened to our situation and approved our order to be placed after the cut off. Upon being seated I informed the young male waiter it was her birthday and he took our drink order. Once he returned he asked if we were ready to order so I asked where are the menus. Texas Roadhouse is a good steak restaurant I personally love the buttered rolls. My favorite dish is the grilled shrimps over seasoned rice and their green beans are to die for. Their margaritas are good but the pina colada not so great but that's my personal opinion. Horrible. Even for a chain, this place was bad. Great bartender that was really attentive. Ordered the small filet MED--got a really rare one. Not usually a problem as I know they re-grill and don't micro it. 8 min later the "manager" brings me a small sirloin. I tell him I had a filet 8 min ago. He then debates with the bartender on what cut it is. When the manager realized the issue he said that he would take the steak off my check--he said it like he was doing me a favor.
