This is probably the best restaurant in Lancaster. I consistently get friendly service, the best ribeye in town, and good side salad with egg on it for an excellent price. Yes it is a chain, but with good food and service, I can see why it is so busy. I recommend the call ahead seating, last time I was seated in 5 mintues and people were waiting everywhere. Normally I do not write reviews but just had to on our visit to the Lancaster Ohio Texas Roadhouse Saturday July 21st. We frequent this place on a regular basis and for the most part our food is good. This visit has nothing to do with the food but with our server who out and out lied to our faces. When it was brought to her attention she made excuses. She went to get a manager and after she told the manager her version the manager came to our table. Immediately we were told that she was not going to reprimand her server. She didn't even want to know what the server bold faced lied about. We didn't want anything to happen to the server but we felt that the server needed training on how to conduct herself with customers. It is really sad that a person feels that they can lie to customers and management stands behind an employee that bare face lies to the people that is responsible for them having a job. Management could use further training also. I would really hate to think that corporate approves of employees and management honoring their name this way. read more

Shocked, actually. First time we've ever been to a Texas Roadhouse, and expected it to be passable. Turns out service is lovely - Kelsey was our server -- and the food was delivered quickly, with a smile, and was surprisingly good. We both had the 6 oz. sirloin dinner with sweet potato and carrots & broccoli. Not a trace of fat, gristle or sinew to be found anywhere. Very tasty, appropriate portions, unbeatable price of $8.99 (before 6:00pm on a Wednesday). It's not gourmet, but I've had vastly more expensive steaks that weren't as good. We placed an order for carry out tonight, I got off work late and my wife and son didn't want to journey out. This is the second time we have gotten carry out from here the first time was just as disappointing with ill cooked food. Tonight My wife's steak was very tough and not cooked properly and we paid for extra roll and got none. Not to mention that who ever was taking to go orders over the phone needed a serious attitude adjustment. Apparently decorating for Cinco de Mayo is more important than greeting and seating customers. Minus one star for a poor greeting. My server was very nice and efficient. She checked back many time and showed the right amount of remorse for the hair I found in my bread and butter. I ordered the chopped sirloin lunch special. There were too many, under cooked onions on my meal for my taste but someone else may like that. It was easy enough to eat around them. The sirloin came with a salad and baked potato for $8.99 (lunch special). You cannot beat the amount of food for the price. Stopped here because we were traveling and wanted a good solid and quick meal, not fast food. Peanuts in the shell we're on the table with a bucket. We really appreciated the snack as it took the edge off while we waited for dinner. Our waiter told us the sirloin was good and fast as well as the ribs and fried food. We opted for the sirloin, which was super tender, excellent fresh green beans with a nice ham and onion sauce. My husband had the baked potato and broccoli with carrots. I travel all over the country for work and I go to Texas Roadhouse every chance that I get. This location apparently won't cut special sizes of steaks. I always order a 30oz boneless ribeye extra, extra, extra rare. They weren't going to cut a 30 oz for me, but the manager changed his mind and cut a 30 oz for me. If I could have given a four and a half star review I would have. When we got to the the restaurant there was almost no wait, but when they went to seat us the table they thought was clean hadn't been bused and we had to go back to the hostess. We were quickly redirected and our waitress Payton was quick to greet us and take our drink order, the sweet tee was wonderful and we never had empty cups. The real reason this review is just short of a perfect 5 stars is the kitchen lost our ticket and our food was a while coming. But in the end it was well worth the wait!!! Both my husband and myself had sirloins medium-rare they were cooked perfectly and tasted even better! We both agree we found our new favorite steak place. I judge a restaurant by how good their margaritas and bread are. This restaurant is one of my favorites. My husband and I eat here about twice a month. We always request to be seated in Theresa's area. She makes you feel comfortable, has an awesome sense of humor and always treats us great. I can't give a review on steak, because I don't eat it. However, my husband has tried about every steak on the menu, and has only gotten a bad filet once. When he told Theresa about the steak, she took it back and brought him out a new one, and it was very good. I always get either the grilled chicken salad or the barbecue chicken and they are both great. They have added a new chicken item to their menu - California Chicken. It is delicious, topped with fresh pico. The manager here, Ashley, is always visible in the seating area and always stops and asks how everything is. The bartenders always remember us and have our margaritas waiting when we sit down at the bar. We will definitely continue our twice it more monthly visits. read more

Ever had one of those experiences you just had to share? Well here's mine tonight at TRH in Lancaster OH. We walked in and found two seats at the bar (how fortunate we thought), the bartender was very attentive. She placed napkins down and salted them before we had our jackets off. "Do you have craft beers?" "Oh yes we have Yuengling Lite..." my first clue things might not go so well. We ordered Prime Rib medium well for Debbie and 20oz Bone in Rib steak medium rare for me. Set in front of us while waiting for our dinner to arrive was three biscuits. We had one each, a few peanuts, and nice conversation. I open the third biscuit, then something caught my eye. On closer inspection I saw what looked like a button right in the middle of the biscuit. I call the bartender over to look at it. She was so shocked and embarrassed by what she saw she grabbed it from my hand and immediately showed it to her manager. The manager came over and sincerely apologized. She then gave us an assurance that it wasn't a button but rather it was the cap that holds the battery in a digital thermometer (obviously this was no comfort at all). She said they had lost it earlier that day but could not find it... This was my second clue. Our steaks arrived, Debbie's steak looked like a wedge you would use for a doorstop. It was rubbery and mostly fat. My steak looked perfect, but as I begin to eat it I realized it was not medium rare but extremely rare with a cold center. The bartender said she would send the steak back and have it cooked longer but by then we had lost our appetite. We were told that the manager had already comped our dinner meal but we would need to pay for the drinks. I left half my drink but we were still yet forced to pay for the two drinks that we ordered . We have always had a good experience at Texas Roadhouse grill. I'm thinking they had an off night but I believe it could have been handled even better. I felt that I needed to share this experience because this will be one of those times in the future when you recall it you'll laugh. Maybe better luck next time. read more

For Lancaster this is probably considered a good restaurant. Food is average - ribs were way over cooked. Hostess and servers are poorly trained at best - very much a "factory" experience.
