We walked in and put in our names at 6:54 and were text quoted 25-35 minutes. It took an hour to be seated, with no apologies from the hostess. The next hostess brought us to our table, and the server was very attentive. We ordered a medium rare fillet, which was cooked extra rare. We also ordered a rare ribeye, which came medium rare. We assumed they were switched, and the server got us two new steaks. The filet came out blue rare again, and the ribeye was cooked the same extra rare. Texas Roadhouse is a chain restaurant like Applebee's except that the menu is dominated by steaks. The steaks aren't great but most of the time they are decent. Unfortunately, they are not always even decent. My last visit was one of those times. Two of us had prime rib. It wasn't good. It was edible though and we were in a hurry so we just ate it and moved on. Unfortunately, I've had this same experience more than once at a Texas Roadhouse, so I can't recommend them. read more

My family of 7 has been dining at Texas Roadhouse for over a decade. We have never had a prior bad experience and never made any type of complaint. We recently relocated to CO and visited the Monument location today at 4:15PM. Upon arrival we were advised that the wait would be 30 to 40 minutes which was fine. Following our arrival, several smaller groups of one to three adults also arrived, checked in, and told to wait in the waiting area. Approximately 10 minutes after being told to wait, a member of the crew approached our family and advised that since we had a "large group" that we needed to vacate the building and wait in our car for a table. I at first thought she was kidding but when she confirmed she had been instructed by the manager to ask us to wait in our car. I spoke to Lynn. Lynn curtly advised that it is their policy to require "large parties" to wait outside in their vehicle rather than in the waiting room. Lynn's demeanor was rude and confrontational. Texas Roadhouse (TRH) is a good example of having all of the necessary ingredients to be a successful, local restaurant. We have been to TRH a few times and each time it was very busy. But after having quick cocktails at the bar (with Tori the bartender who remembered my drink of choice) we were seated within 10 minutes. My husband and I love the ribs (amazing, fall off the bone), the prime rib (the best in town), the mashed potatoes and the green beans. The host team (at the front door) is always full of smiles and very personable. The server team is always friendly, knowledgeable (knows the menu inside and out) and efficient. Last week we had the pleasure of meeting Dennis, the Managing Partner/Owner. We watched as he spent most of his time "table touching" and introducing himself to the guests in his restaurant. When we met, he was genuine and sincerely grateful for our choosing TRH as our dining option. I am normally not drawn to chain restaurants. But after such extraordinary experiences... I have eaten at other Texas Roadhouses before, but this was my first time at this location, as I was traveling through Colorado on vacation. The hostess greeted us and took us to our table asking if we'd done anything fun this week. I said, "This week!!?, Yes!" And proceeded to tell her about my travels. She then asked if it was our first time at this location. When I told her it was, she asked if we'd like the manager to come over to our table and bring us samples of their side items to try. So we said yes, and we got to try their chilli, loaded potato soup and green beans. It came just in time for us to sample right before ordering and choosing the sides we wanted. It helped us decide. It was a great touch and we all appreciated the extra effort to make us feel welcome. We were all in the mood for steaks and so each of us ordered the 6oz. They were all cooked to perfection and tasted great. We enjoyed all of the sides, except I did not like the mashed potatoes with gravy. They were lumpy, dry and just not tasty. Let's start with we typically love a good basic steak at TX ROADHOUSE. This location the service was great no complaints there. Our server was awesome the manager was very accommodating. The issue is the food and apparently it's a long standing problem they don't know how to cook steak! I ordered medium and it came out well done The Man ordered medium well and again it came well done. It would appear they only know how to cook well done. They also over salt as other reviewers have mentioned to the point that it makes food inedible!! The good was they comped us our inedible meals. However after reading other reviews here we won't be return no matter the good service. On a side note we also observed some incredibly unsanitary food handling in the kitchen also noted by others. This place needs to be reported to the health department for that. read more

This is my favorite steak house. I have never sat a table. I am single, an if I wanted to eat alone I would eat home. My favorite bartender is HAILY!! I have watch her so many times with all types of customers. If you have ever been a bartender or a food server you know what I am talking about.. I ordered a burger well done, when I got it home I realized it was completely rare. It literally dripped blood when I bit into it. They said all they can do is remake it so I spent an hour driving back and forth to get my dinner (15 minutes each way twice). When they remade it they only gave me a small handful of fries, maybe 10 or 12. It wouldn't be so bad if they did something extra to make up for the extra half hour of driving and all the inconvenience, but the manager said no, all they are allowed to do is store credit or remake it. First, let me say that I have eaten at Texas roadhouse for years and almost always get the same thing because it has always been good. I followed that rule this time and ordered a cowboy cut 16 ounce sirloin steak. The steak seem to be cooked properly, (I ordered medium rare), but it was the toughest steak I have ever had. I actually had trouble cutting it with a steak knife and ended up throwing a decent portion of it away. Hopefully this was an aberration and not an indication of things to come. I did take out. We had missing food and the steak was terrible. I know Rib Eyes have a lot of fat. I am very familiar with the cut. They are our favorite cut and we order them all the time when we go to steak houses. This rib eye they gave us had more fat than meat. It was terrible -- actullay kind of sad since it meant someone went away hungry. I think it is because we did take out. They had to have known this steak was 88% fat and intentionally did not serve it in house. Had we been eating in the dining room it would have gone back. About twice a year we try this place and we are always disappointed. At least they are consistantly crappy. This is a Monument staple, it is one of my favorite national restaurant chains and is a national treasure! The food is solid and there is a lot of variety. I especially like their buttery vegetables and mashed potatoes. Their dinner rolls with cinnamon butter are also a highlight. The peanut shells on the floor are not my favorite since that policy is not very friendly to people with peanut allergies, but if your group does not have peanut allergies then you should be good to go! read more

Eh, pretty poor service for a restaurant that's always busy. The food was good as always. Our server simply vanished once our meal came out. We could have used drink refills throughout our meal, and some other odds and ends. Plus the legendary bread never came, well not until our server showed up at the end of our meal and we asked for it (of course she blamed the hostesses for not delivering it).
