Update: We were sent a barcode for free dozen rolls for eat in only (we only do take out just the same as the night of the incident and for the past year during Covid) excluding gratuity and taxes....oh wait, aren't those free already? LOL. AND no credit card credit for the rolls not included as the manager promised....Dang it, I expected 42 cents credit by now. LOL Hit or Miss with this place in Monument, Colorado. Last night, we ordered two steak dinners for pick up. At time of arrival there were not any rolls prepared (6:50 pm). We waited the requisite 7 minutes and at 10 minutes walked back insides since the pick up people did not bring them out to the car. At that time, the guy at pick up said they were already distributed to others, but we could wait another 7 minutes for rolls. We said the steaks and meals are getting cold and his response was "yeah". How prophetic. We couldn't keep waiting for 10 minute intervals indefinitely. We left. After submitting a complaint, we received a call on VM at 9:30 pm from the manager of the store stating we would receive a credit for the rolls that were not provided. How much could that amount be when you are allotted two per meal for take out (so four rolls total) and unlimited if you eat at a table. It gave us a laugh, triggered this review due to the shear stupidity that was rampant last night from the "yeah" at the pick area to the manager with a roll credit which we anxiously anticipate, LOL. Lack of leadership from the top down is probably the root cause since a "roll credit" seems to make sense to the manager. We supported them almost weekly during Covid when they couldn't be open and now they are back to their shitty service just like before Covid. We don't recommend. read more

Best steak we've had out in a while! Tender, flavorful, and cooked perfect. Restaurant staff is friendly, wearing masks, and following Covid safety. Kids were happy with their kid steaks and all our food was great. I wish I could just take 1/2 star off and give them 4 1/2 stars....our only recommendation for improvement is the drinks menu and cocktail selection. A little too 'pre-made mixer chain restaurant' style for our taste. Would love to see some good local beers and creative cocktails! But we will still be back bc of the great food! read more

It's sad. This place used to be good. We've been coming to this location for over five years The last two visits made it clear that the kitchen and waitstaff management have completely fallen off the rails. On our previous visit I was brought mushrooms that were black THROUGH and slimy. Like, how do you as a server put that in front of someone? How did any one in the kitchen think that was acceptable? This visit, our steaks were completely wrong. Medium for rare and well for medium and they were both at least 2oz light. It used to be when your steak was messed up - a manager would come out with the corrected meal and you can bet it was right when then they did. Oh Texas Road House... A favorite! We go for every special event, very much a go to. Last night was one of the worst experience we have ever had.. The hostess was horrible just plain rude. When we told the manger she tried to be nice but I have never been told why an employee is right.. Just wasn't a great conversation. OUR WAITER WAS AMAZING!!!! I WOULD GO BACK AND SIT IN CHANLERS SECTION!! He is the only reason our night was enjoyable and I will go back. This is absolutely the best place possible for big families: 1. Prices are affordable (kids eat for 99 cents on Mon.) which is one of the only reasons we come 2. Andy always walks around putting smiles in the kids (on Mondays which is kids night) 3. Very good healthy foods for all ages 4. Nice country 5. Beautiful decor 6. As the owner of Drew's BBQ in Monument-a private residential establishment by invitation only, I know what it takes to cook and eat good food. We went on a whim last night and were pleasantly surprised. Having never lived in Texas, we had no idea if the aesthetic was relatively or non-relatively Texan but on the drive up, someone did pull onto the shoulder of the road so we could pass them. The menu was also good but could have used a dipping sauce as it had a dry papery plastic taste to it and mine was a bit chewy-possibly overcooked? Perhaps the menu would have tasted better if it had been served with a brisket side dish? Pros: My vegetarian salad was prepared expertly; my organic, vegan, non-decaf, skinny beer was served ice-cold; my non-gluten free bread rolls melted in my mouth and their soy/tofu substitute protein was expertly cooked. Loved the fact that their bartender was a bartender and not a mixologist and my coffee served with desert was NOT made by a card carrying Barista (also known as a Ph-D in Drama Education) Cons: They put meat in their chili and this will get ridden out of town on a rail at a vegetarian convention. That's like opening a Kosher deli and serving Hallal wine. Also, our server wasn't willing to hand feed me the complimentary peanuts provided at each table but service otherwise was very good. We will be back even though they don't have smoked tofu burnt ends or vegan brisket. It's not only the best Texas Roadhouse I have ever been to but maybe one of the best restaurants in Colorado or the county. I'm telling you this place is fantastic. I've used their services twice in May during two separate visits and both times the food was delicious and received no complaints from family about the food. The menu should satisfy every diner. In fact, I give TRH a nod above most national chains. On this recent visit my wife and both had the half smoked chicken. I gave her my white meat; she gave me her dark. (We have a symbiotic marriage as you can see.) our sides were sweet potatoes (both), green beans (her) and Caesar salad (me). All good. Our waitress was Jazmyn, It felt like she just wanted us rushed out the door as quick as she could to start with. But we got sat in between two tables, which logically made no sense with covid existing. What happened to social distance? It was uncomfortable where we were positioned. Above all I found a blonde hair in my butter for rolls and last time I checked I ain't blonde. We are from Texas and this location reminds me of the location in Fort Worth. The staff was nice. We arrived for the early bird dinner discount, which is a nice perk. The food came out in a reasonable time. Mind you, it's no five star expensive steakhouse in downtown Denver, but it's good and I'd go back when I'm in the mood for that type of food because it's affordable, conveniently located and edible. I'm empathetic of all restaurants struggle at this time which is why I added an extra star. Also I have been to this restaurant in the past and it's been decent. Tonight was ridiculous. The hostess said the wait would be 25-30 minutes. We waited an hour. I ordered a filet medium rare and my friend ordered a ribeye rare. My filet arrived incredibly rare and my friend ribeye arrived medium rare. I can't eat rare meat so we told the waitress about the mix up. The manager then came over and said she would fix the mix up and give us both new steaks. My second filet arrived even more rare. Sent a picture to my boyfriend who is a professionally trained chef. He replied that it was medium raw and that they cooked it way too fast. My friends second steak was Pittsburgh style which is not what she asked for. Went to pick up our food and sat in the parking lot for 32 minutes with nobody knowing where our dinner was. Visited today 7/12/21 from California. What an amazing experience from the minute we walked in the door. Hannah greeted us with a friendliness and warmth that is so long overdue when you enter restaurants these days. Johnny seated us and had a genuine interest in our day. We ordered 4 combo meals consisting of two ribeyes, a sirloin, a filet, shrimp, and ribs. Everything was cooked to perfection and with great flavors. Even the salad was excellent and super fresh. The best part of our evening was our server, Wyatt. He was so welcoming and happy about being there to make our experience the best we have had in years. He ensured he was at our table, before we needed anything and was always checking on us. He had such a wonderful, refreshingly upbeat personality. The evening was pleasant and perfect because of the entire staff, including the chefs. We appreciated going out to eat and having everything and more. I've had the steaks and chicken entrées many times. They are consistently a good quality. You know exactly what to expect. They have a great selection of side dishes and again, all that I have tried are of good quality. As strange as it may sound, one of the stars of this place are the rolls with butter. I'm not exactly sure what type of butter this is, I'm guessing some sort of whipped honey butter with cinnamon, but these are outstanding. I have to be careful not to overdo things with these rolls every time I visit. The only slight negative is it seems portion size has recently gotten slightly smaller. Maybe it's because I've been doing carry out or, since I'm a recent transplant from Indiana, perhaps the portion sizes were larger back there. read more

Hugely disappointed in this location. I called and placed an order to go. I had to call 3 times!! I was transferred and hung up on. 3 times. I finally got in touch with someone who took my order...and was told that it would take 15-20 minutes. I was 1.5 miles away. Arrived at the restaurant precisely 20 minutes later. Waited. Waited. Waited. I was told they were almost done with my order. Then another girl told me they were boxing my order. I waited. Exaxtly 1 HOUR after placing my order, I was given my food and on my way. I got to the car and double checked everything. My entire order was COLD. Nothing was even warm!!?!?? 40 minutes of waiting in the restaurant for COLD food. Poor service. This place is always solid, excellent training, clean,and festive. Love the free roasted peanuts and the pick-your-own steak concept. For lunch I had a sirloin salad that excellent, with a blue cheese vinaigrette. The peach ice tea is lovely. Its a chain, but sometimes consistency while on the road is a very good thing. read more

Special occasion place to be! I've never had a bad dish at any of these restaurants -from Colorado Springs, CO to Fayetteville, NC! Our favorite dish is the sirloin with sautéed mushrooms, house salad/blue cheese dressing and steamed veggies. I love to play a practical joke on anyone that comes to this hot spot with me. They have a great tradition on a birthday that is a must do for everyone! When you arrive, excuse yourself to the restroom to wash your hands. Before returning to your table, stop the waiter or waitress and tell them that your date or someone in your party is having a birthday. The best part about this prank is the birthday celebration that occurs here. They have a horse saddle mounted on a stool that they make the birthday victum ride while they sing happy birthday. First time in Colorado and first time at a Texas Roadhouse. Super friendly staff, amazing server (Lauren, 3 yrs of service and it shows), food is served quickly even if they are busy. We demolished the hot freshly made rolls as soon as we sat our butts in the booth. Made a good size dent in the bucket of peanuts. Gobbled down our salads, chili, chicken, hamburgers, baked and mashed potatoes, fresh veggies and green beans. Our beverages were always refilled, almost before we realized we wanted more. Their decaf coffee is even good. So yes, I guess I have to admit to being a new fan of this place. read more

The menu also was good (lacking brisket, but oh well), and Mondays are Kids' Night, so all kid appetizers are $.99 or $1.99 depending on what you choose. That's a hell of a deal! Pros: We were seated right away, the service was prompt and friendly, and they bent over backwards to make sure we were happy. The ribs were decent, fried pickles were tasty, and the kids were all happy with their food. The sides were good as well, especially the green beans (mmmm bacon). Cons: THEY PUT BEANS IN THEIR CHILI. This will get you ridden out of town on a rail in Texas. That's like opening a halal deli and serving matzos with a pork chop on them. No Texan will acknowledge anything with beans in it as chili. If you entered that into a chili contest they would refuse it, saying it was NOT chili. Just on the chili you cats need to get your act together and trash the beans. Also, the place desperately needed a sweeping, and our table was still sticky when we sat down. We'll go back, especially for kids' night. That's just too good a deal to pass up for the amount of food they serve. But wow you guys: it's a TEXAS Roadhouse, and there's BEANS in your chili. read more

UPDATE - Ok - TR has always been one of my favorite places! But recently our family (7 of us) went to the Monument location. We called ahead and got a claim number for when we arrived. We were told, they weren't that busy and should be seated quickly. When we arrived about 15 minutes later, the restaurant was packed! We sat down and expected to be seated shortly because we had called in ahead ..... WE SAT THERE FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF. Oddly, several other large groups that came in after we did were quickly seated. We asked what the problem was - one response was the people at the table they wanted to seat us at wouldn't leave....we asked, can't you just put a chair at the end of another table? They said the tables were too high to do that: however, I've seem them do that frequently. After we finally asked for a 3rd time they finally seated us.....where ? At one of the tables they said was too high to be able to add a chair to. Although we live in the Springs, we have always enjoyed the Monument location. TX Roadhouse has been one of our favorite places to eat for years now - the food is always great and the service as well. But here is what happened: we went to their store in Monument, CO today (Mothers Day) for a nice lunch. Just one HUGE complaint: upon entering the restaurant, as soon as we went through the doors we were greeted and bothered by two very annoying Mary Kay sales reps trying to sell stuff. What the heck is that all about???? Note to the Manager: VERY BAD idea as your customers come to your restaurant to enjoy a good meal and not being sold cosmetics!!! Maybe the Manager's wife is a Mary Kay sales rep herself otherwise I have no explanation for this BS. read more

I personally think that Texas Roadhouse in general does steaks wonderfully. I have been to more expensive places and been more disappointed with the quality of the meat. This location in Monument is the best in El Paso county. Service is always great and the steak is usually (95%+ of the time) cooked right. My wife likes her steaks brown throughout and sometimes it is a little pink, but the staff is always friendly and accommodates by taking the steak back for a little more cooking time. Meanwhile, I love rare streak and I have never been disappointed. We eat here about 3 times a month, and I can't think of any instance where a manager didn't stop by the table to ask about the food and service. This shows that ownership and management care that their customers are happy. read more

Rating the food should probably be separate from the place itself. The place: Well, you know going in it's going to be staffed by people in their teens and early 20's supposedly to keep things "fresh". Not a knock against Roadhouse, just an observation. They are very friendly but after you go a few times, you sort of get tired of the fact that every server has to recite the same exact greeting, "Have you been here before? Have you tried are 'legendary' rolls?" The food: Everything is apparently 'legendary'. I once had baked chicken that still had blood coming out of it. The on-duty supervisor said that it's sometimes just a "vein" that has some blood in it. Huh? That said, they did make it right but you know, you could be at home hurling for the next 2-3 days with something like that. Overall it's okay in an area that doesn't have much. People who think it's "great" must not have been out in the world much i.e., they grew up on TV dinners and this is like a special occasion for them to go to Texas Roadhouse. read more

My husband and I went to this restaurant today. The food was excellent and so was our waitress. I am giving one star because of the reception/ greeter gals. I was totally disgusted by the so called greeting we received from the gals at reception. They never looked up and acknowledged we where there. One gal even walked away. They where rude, unfeeling, and cared nothing about customer service. My husband and I seated ourselves. After about 10 minutes my husband got up and told the gals at reception we needed a waitress/waiter. When Kenzie arrived she was polite, attentive, and knew what great customer service is about. She could teach a lesson or two to those reception gals. Those gals are going to turn customers off with their horrible manners. Judge Judy says, " Beauty fades." Dumb is forever." There are other unique restaurants that are nestled in the historic parts of monuments, but if you are near the shopping area where Walmart, calls, home depot, and other establishments, this Texas Roadhouse is operatively placed. A remarkable thing to point out about this location is they have to purple heart recipient parking spaces located near the front of the restaurant. I am active duty military, and seeing the signs is a fantastic feeling knowing that they cater to their military. I have only ordered to go from this restaurants but every time I do my order is correct. When I walk in the restaurant is very clean, the staff are very friendly, and some of the most professional workers I have met at a Texas Roadhouse. As the city grows this place will become popular indeed. read more
