    Burger and salad

We were in the area and decided to have an early dinner. Cowboy Star has a great happy hour. My husband enjoyed his gin and tonic with Hendriks gin. A double brought it to $30 with the special gin. I had the Hogan mule. It has pear syrup and chai syrup in it. So good! The burger and salad was cooked perfectly and tasted very good. I got the shrimp and bravas. Oh my! Like it came from heaven! Shrimp cooked perfectly and very large. Potatoes so crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Yum! Maybe this should be our Friday night habit.

This is easily one of the top steakhouses in Colorado Springs. From start to finish, the experience is exceptional. Parking was easy, which is always a plus, and the service was outstanding right away. The palate cleanser they give you before the meal is excellent and really sets the tone for what's coming. The bread and butter are great, the drink selection has a lot of variety, and the oysters are consistently amazing. The steaks and overall food quality are truly exceptional. Each waiter clearly knew the menu inside and out and did a great job explaining everything and setting expectations. I've been here 4 times now, and it has never disappointed. Consistently great food, service, and experience every single visit.

My husband and I recently went to Cowboy Star for our anniversary and we were blown away by the experience! As we were brought to our table, the swapped the napkins from white to black, to match better with our outfits. When we arrived at our table there was a card signed by the staff and a rose. We were given a special plate from the chef before the meal started...there were just so many thoughtful touches to honor our special night. We went on to have a beautiful meal and enjoy every bite! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was such a lovely, warm atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff was so kind and professional. We walked away just having enjoyed every aspect of the evening.

My husband and I celebrated our 31st anniversary here a couple of weeks ago. We had heard that their happy hour menu was one of the best kept secrets in town, and since we can't afford their regular menu right now we decided to give it a try. We were so glad we did- we had such a lovely and delicious experience, even just in the lounge/bar area! Their happy hour menu runs from 3-6 pm and is only offered in the bar/lounge area. We went about 5:15 and were impressed with the big selection of discounted drinks and bites at really good prices! My husband got the cherry wood smoked Old Fashioned and he thought it was delicious, and the presentation of it was super cool too (see the photo). We got the deviled eggs as an appetizer. (I was pretty proud to notice that the owner of a popular downtown restaurant was also dining there during happy hour and got the same drink and appetizer- it made us feel like we have good taste!) I got their strawberry lemonade. My husband got the Butcher's Choice Sausage for his entree and thought it was delicious, and thought the whipped white cheddar mousse bites were especially yummy. I got the Ultimate Burger and fries and whoa, the fries were some of the best I've ever had! The burger was also really good (a friend told me it was the best burger she's ever had!) but I should have ordered it medium instead of medium well because it was really cooked (my mistake) and kind of dry. We ordered the Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding for dinner and it was absolutely incredible. I was so impressed with everything about it. We shared it and it was perfect for two people, with a beautiful presentation and even better taste. Perfection. The person who brought it out to us said he thinks it's one of the very best things they offer at the restaurant! We were served by a wonderful young woman named Lindsey (I believe that's her name) and she was so professional and kind. We appreciated her and her service a ton. We got excellent service and it felt like a fancy dinner out even in the bar area- what a treat. We were surprised by the gift of an anniversary card signed by the staff and a beautiful red rose wrapped in a Cowboy Star menu. Such a thoughtful touch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I have to mention that the restroom was super nice and clean too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We can't recommend the Cowboy Star happy hour experience more! We got all of that food and drink with tip for just under $100! We are grateful for a wonderful experience for our anniversary.

We rolled in for our weekly date night with zero expectations--just two lovebirds chasing patio vibes because the weather was giving perfection. And honey... we were not ready. Enter Josh, our waiter and low-key culinary guru. This man knew the menu like it was his Netflix queue--dropping fire recs all night long, from killer cocktails to mouthwatering mains. We kicked things off with oysters and bone marrow (because why not be fancy?). First time trying bone marrow and let me tell you--rich, buttery, and living its best life on that toasty bread. I went full goddess mode with the scallops, and my man tackled the T-bone like a champ. Both? Chef's kiss. Perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked, and absolutely zero regrets. We wrapped it all up with their famous bread pudding, and babyyy... it was the sweet finale we didn't know we needed. 10/10 would eat our way through that night again.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful , classy restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Fantastic service. Our server Josh was great! French onion soup was really tasty and flavorful . Salad, however, was not my favorite. It was too acidic and needed a bit of sweetness to balance it out . Everything had beautiful presentation though. My daughter's dish did not meet my expectations. Steak ( filet) was cooked right but it was so bland. I don't understand why some restaurants don't season dishes and only provide salt and pepper on the side. It ruins the dish. Mashed potatoes also didn't have salt in them . Broccolini were bland . I expected better tasting steak meal for that price. Sauces for steak are extra $7 each and they also fell a bit short . I would return for some items like French onion soup .

I had an excellent experience here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is beautiful with a fire pit, bar/lounge and dining area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food was great! Hot and fresh. My steak was cooked perfectly. Loved my wedge salad. Our server was very knowledgeable and just sweet. We wanted dessert but unfortunately just didn't have the room for it.

Stopped in for happy hour with my husband and daughter on 07/06/25. We had a lovely time. We got strawberry lemonades which were a classic. The Caesar salad and the beef skewers were delicious. Oh! The fries were too. The service was incredibly friendly, albeit a bit stuffy (personal preference of course, a lot of people I'm sure appreciate it). I didn't get many pictures because admittedly I thought I'd already left a review lol! I'll make sure to update my review next time :)

Wife and I ate here for the first time tonight. Higher end place (total bill for 2 with tip close to $300). She ordered a New York Strip medium rare. I ordered a boneless dry aged ribeye medium. Steaks were close to $70 each. For that price you have a right to expect they're cooked right. Hers came out medium and mine medium rare. I ate mine but she sent hers back. Manager got involved in the replacement. By the time hers came out, I was done eating. She watched me eat and I watched her eat. Her side of sauted mushrooms was also cold by the time the steak came out. We didn't ask for any part of the meal to be comped, we shouldn't have too. It should be automatic for a higher end place like this. The manager should have taken off the mushrooms at a minimum and possibly the appetizer. Nope. Nothing. A $250 meal screwed up. We paid the bill, gave the server a decent tip and left. We won't be back.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Right off the bat you can tell the inside of this place is really nice! It's very classy and presented really well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff is also very friendly from the hostess to the waiter we had! The menu is nice but the prices are pretty high. The side sauces are $7 each. The mocktails they had were very good too. The pear mule was a highlight. The house made strawberry lemonade made me chuckle because it was just strawberry puree in store bought lemonade... Still not bad haha. The oysters were amazing, super fresh and had great taste. I'd highly recommend getting them if you like oysters. The french onion soup was also great, rich bold flavors all around. The steak however was lacking in flavor, cooked well and good sides but it was all just kind of bland. They provide salt and pepper on the side but I feel like there should be some basic seasoning. The salad was also interesting I'm assuming it had cumin because it kind of had a taco flavor to it. I'd would most likely return for smaller items but definitely a solid 4. The atmosphere, friendly staff, and small bites are definitely worth it.

We were celebrating my boyfriend and decided to come here as a treat. His son said this is the best steak house and we had to try it. We made a reservation online and were sat very quickly. This is by far the nicest steak house in Colorado Springs. We ordered a drink, I got the summer spritzer. It has a great strawberry taste and was very strong. They told me the drink menu was changing soon so I was lucky I got to try it! After we ordered our meals they served us a palette cleanser, it was delicious like a corn mash. Then they served us bread with whipped butter and hawiian salt, the butter was so good! The salt had a nice crunch to it and the bread was perfect, so soft on the inside. We shared the crab cakes, the sauce served with it was divine and paired so well. They do have a kids menu, just have to ask. We decided to share the 40oz porterhouse and so glad that we did! Half was New York strip and the other filet. The Filet was my favorite, so tender and flavorful. They even had cut it before they brought it out and served it to us. It took awhile for us to get our food but it was a large steak. The mashed potatoes were creamy and the broccoli soft. We chose the Mac n cheese as our side, the taste of the truffle was not overwhelming and the sauce was creamy. It also had bits of bacon. All the food was beyond amazing but this is the best steak I've ever had. When we were done they boxed up the food for us and gave us a ticket. It was so convenient and they gave us the food when we were leaving. Overall it was the best experience we have had at a steak house. Great staff and food. We will definitely be back. Already raving to our friends about this place.

Food and service were excellent! Got our food in a timely fashion and the food was to die for (not literally but figuratively) Shout out to Stephen, Zoe, and the manager Rebecca! They came in clutch and provided a wonderful date night! Thank you guys so much and would highly recommend this restaurant!

The view house welcomed us with open arms. As I stated initially in this review, the food and the ambience are amazing, but what really made the experience testimonial worthy was, Vincent, our waiter/server. Dude rolled in with a small notepad, a smile, calm demeanor, and took every order, every drink, every appetizer, and even dealt with all these freaking knucklehead kids. I woke up and said the exact thing to My Wife yesterday. So, Vincent, hats off to you and everybody there. To the people behind-the-scenes making the food, THANK YOU! PS. Not a mistake was made. My family went…read morehere to celebrate a birthday and I was so sorely disappointed with Viewhouse in Colorado Springs. The location is great from downtown Denver to Colorado Springs. The specific location in Colorado Springs on Campus Drive was really a disappointment for a Viewhouse spot; not only was my food ice cold but the rest of my family's entrées did not have any seasoning. My child didn't even want to eat the pizza! How could you fuck up pizza? (I don't want to forget to mention that most of this food looks and tasted like it was constructed from commercial Cisco food products, when eating at a nice place like this and paying a premium for each dish/appetizer. Why the hell aren't you using better ingredients?) When a seven-year-old is asking to pass the pepper and salt for pizza and still not eating you know it's wrong. The school pizza I had in elementary school blows the pizza I tasted from my child's dish that day out of the water. My father had specific dietary request and the kitchen totally ignored that. Sometimes it happens and the server forgets to bring culturey and napkins, but oh my gosh, it was a wait. Imagine eating chips and guac right off the bat and not having anything to wipe your hands on, and then that continued throughout the whole meal. It was quite busy that day, a saturday. I looked around like maybe everybody was being too nice to even mention because they too were just as flabbergasted. This food is off and my family and I had gotten a whole array of different dishes besides appetizers, the fries were not fresh and gross. Not even ketchup could mend the disappointment. We were so hungry, we had drinks and ate what we could manage.. We still paid our bill like decent people and will never come back to any Viewhouse ever again. Two of us had gotten ill from the lunch and we just didn't even have the _____ to call and speak with the manager or anyone the day after, and the disappointment lingered for a few days after. Its was so bad like one of those situations where you don't even care to ask for a refund, just never go back...

He had the perfect amount of seafood flavor and a super crispy outer; I would recommend. Next, I had the ginger pork and crispy rice dish. This had a large helping of pork that did well with the Asian flavors and that crispy rice for texture; I would recommend. My final was the miso butterscotch tart. You can't go wrong with a dessert that has butterscotch, Biscoff, marshmallow and miso. The only criticism I could make was that the tart was pretty loose, but that did not take away from the flavor. Steak bites, truffle fries, brownie skillet... I want to come back just to try more food alone. This was insane and the pricing was good, the value was good, and I even ordered truffle fries to go because I loved it so much! What is super fun is that they now have wine tastings on Tuesdays and it is a great deal. $12 for four wines. Someone tells you about each wine and it's a great way to sample a bunch of wines, both local and not. I was super excited about that! I will again, come back to do that! Lots of positives there. And our server was very sweet. She was checking in and making sure we were doing well. I wish I knew her name but sadly I don't. But she was so kind and had a great personality. And everything came out fast! The vibes are also good. I love the outdoor seating/patio options for a hot summer night. And it was very lush. It's funny because I had never heard of this place before but it is in a fantastic area near Night Ramen and Provision Bakery (two amazing spots). Breakfast at Provision, apps and drinks at My Cellar Wine Bar, and maybe a dinner at Night Ramen. Haha! Just kidding, but again, great spot. Here's where I have issues. I worked in the restaurant industry for six years. I understand staying over close and even coming in close to close is a no no (at least for me). But we arrived at 7:30 pm and stayed until 9:45 pm. One of my best friends is getting married so she wanted to show us her dress and share her excitement. At 9 pm (note they close at 10 pm), they turned on the lights, began sweeping, closed the kitchen, and even at one point blasted music. We asked the waitress when they closed the wine bar. 10 pm. But what frustrated me the most is that the manager (I assume) came over and was acting extremely condescending. "I know you girls are having such a good time!!" And was trying to usher us out. Girl. You don't close until 10 pm. It's 9:45. If you didn't want us to stay, then maybe change the hours. I don't care if we are the only ones there. It was extremely rude and the way she said it felt, as I said, condescending. Like we were young and dumb or something. As a diner, I expect great service. Which we got for the most part. But to kick us out before it closes is unprofessional and frustrating. Of course we left, but god forbid a girl get excited about her wedding and wants to share all about it. This left a sour taste in my mouth and again, if you wanted to close early, maybe don't tell patrons the actual time you close: 10 pm. We bought a lot and a bottle of wine. Let us finish our glasses and I promise we will leave before close. I would still come back, but maybe I'll go to Vine and Wheel or another wine bar first.
