After church we went to Texas Roadhouse for lunch. We have always had a great meal there. Today, not very good. Ordered a chicken fried steak and it was burnt. When they asked how things were I told them it was burnt. They asked if they can redo it. Normally I never do that. Just because you never know. I agreed and they brought another o e and it was burnt even more. They did come back and ask again I said I'm good. I know some of you will B/M because that's who you are. I genuinely think that everyone that's saying the food here is good, either has the wrong restaurant or eats at McDonald's when they want a "good burger". I think the steak was passable, not great for a steakhouse but edible. Past that things were damn near inedible. Rolls were served cold, fried pickles are just breading, same for the chicken fried steak. Also the chicken fried steak is some type of sweet maple????? Loaded fries were literally just cheese microwaved on fries + some bacon bits from a bag. Side of Mac and cheese? Oh you bet it was served cold Mac but a HOT cup!!!! Mushrooms cold (and these last two sides are an up charge) This is not an establishment that is worth the wait, let alone any. I only came because I was given a coupon for a free appetizer if I ordered a meal, but you'd bet I'll throw away the rest of those. Never recommending ANY roadhouse to anyone. Love this place. The staff OSS always great here. It was busy after church and we still had a great experience. Picked a 14 oz. Steak at the entrance in the display case. Was cooked to perfection for me. Wife had chicken and we had plenty to come home with for a lunch. The inside is definitely western. Had on Birthday and they sang for them, great team here. I've been to this location about six times over the summer and fall. It is generally consistent at decent service, good food, and at providing a fun and casual atmosphere for a date. Almost all employees are college-aged and inexperienced, but it's busy here for a reason. Their Ft Worth and prime rib steaks are usually good. I don't like that they turned the indoor waiting area next to the front door into a supply room. This is management deciding it would rather have more storage space even if it means all customers have to wait outside in humid 100 degree summer weather. They don't even use the space well and even if kept organized, it sure doesn't look nice right by the front door. I'm a millennial, but also resent their self-pay table kiosks. It makes me feel much more like just a number. Everything else being equal, I would go where they don't use these things if there's a choice. This is good for parties of 1-6. They really aren't good at handling bigger groups. Definitely use their check-in app or be prepared to wait if it's at all busy. read more

The food is generally consistent and good, but the service here is terrible. When we walked in and gave our name to the hostess stand, one of the hostess girls stepped up next to me and cupped her hands to yell the name of someone whose table was ready. It literally made my eardrum vibrate and the lack of awareness was astounding. The waiting area wasn't even crowded so there was no reason to scream in my ear. Second, our waitress visited us twice total. She brought our drinks and never refilled them and then we waited for a long time. The people next to us literally ordered, ate their entire meal, and left before we were brought anything. They ended up bringing us our steaks without any salad. I asked about our salads and rather than being accommodating the runner asked if we wanted them. Of course we wanted the salads we ordered! The waitress visited for the second time to remind us to pay on the ziosk. She didn't seem to care at all about the salad situation and the fact the service was nonexistent. We're going to stop visiting this location. It's also extremely loud to the point you can't make conversation, which leads the other customers to yell over the music. read more

Ordered the porterhouse. Asked for medium rare. The server carefully explained what medium rare consisted of, which is fine. I'm sure they get patrons who are unclear. Steak came and it was gray throughout. I showed it to her and she was amazed. Kept apologizing though of course not her fault. They sent a replacement which was a little rare but that's okay. I have been here 3 times in the last month because my Husband loves this place.. 2/3 of the times TRH was jam packed! This was to be expected so we used the handy dandy call ahead feature (always use this feature... always!) and got seated almost immediately after walking in. Everyone was smiling, super sweet and looked happy to be here. The food has always been great. I order my steak med-well but had it come out more on the well side so medium is how I request my stake here now. I recommend the rattlesnake bites as an app if you like spicy, and whatever you do.. don't skip their margs! Sooo delish! read more

The first few times we've been here, service has been hit or miss. My family and I assumed it was because they'd just opened and tonight is proof of that. Gave them three chances to get a side order correct and they couldn't even do that. How hard is it to steam broccoli every time they brought it to me it was cold and hard like they never even steamed it. It's on the menu after all ended up with ribs, because prime rib wasn't available because it didn't get cooked the night before, and when I spoke with the manager after she came to me, I didn't ask to speak with her. The biscuits here are delicious! But our main meals were awful. The ribs were over cooked and the chicken with cheese and onions made my stomach turn. COVID - the employees wear masks and glove. Masks are required for customers to get around the restaurant until you are at your seat. There are clear glass shields between booths to raise the privacy area for each table. There are extra hand sanitizing stations in the restaurant and they are not placing families close together. The menu is a QR scanned paper taped to the table. If you have an iPhone you can scan in your camera and if you have SnapChat you can take a picture and it will take it to the website. They did change their hours, but I think they have done so online already to reflect the change. Food was good. Came out fairly fast and correct. Had a little struggle in the beginning w warm bread and butter, but it wasn't bad. Drinks came out correctly in a sufficient amount of time and food was hot. Staff were dancing to various songs that came on which added some lightness to the air. Seems like everyone is tense to be out or have fun with everything going on. It was a nice addition! Website didn't let me do call ahead with a 0 min wait, then we arrived and the hostess forced us to use her personal cell to do do web check in then asked us to wait outside. We ordered: Chicken Ceasar salad, which was the best of all items. We spent $66.00 on this so I figured it would be good. We got the filet medallions on peppercorn sauce and it was horrible. The worse we have ever had. We asked for bar-b-que ribs, and they weren't able to provide them. We also asked for the shrimp, numerous shrimp, and they were OK. We asked for numerous rolls and they were way under-delivered. We also asked for the cheesecake and it was standard. I had never had such a poor providing of the main entre. Finally Alex came to take our drink order.I ordered a mixed drink AND a Dr Pepper.while my friend got their tea I sat...and sat...and sat.I saw the waitress chatting at the bar while I waited,she could have brought my soda in the meantime.I FINALLY GOT MY DRINK.the absolute worst strawberry daiquiri of my life!it tasted like ice...that's about it.we ask for rolls and she brought 2 so we ask for some more and never got them.Alex finally took our order.I at that point had to cancel our movie tickets Bc we have been there well over an hr and it doesn't look like we will be leaving soon.Our food came out.and it looked awful.I added a pic.straight up white chicken.no grill marks.no sauce.but I checked the inside temp with my finger and it was warm so I was like ok I'll try it.Big mistake.pink and rubbery chicken that I spit out.We both had no drink at this point so I finally flagged someone down and told them I needed the Dr Pepper I ordered,I needed chicken that was cooked and maybe some rolls. 10 minutes later we got drinks.no rolls.I ate my sides and waited on chicken.20 minutes after I sent it back they brought it back.It had been thrown on the grill for a few mark and was drowned in sauce.I took a bite and it was still rubbery.I don't eat red meat,so I know my chicken.And that wasn't cooked.I ask for a box.I wasn't eating that undercooked meat.I figured my dog would tho. We live over an hour from Rockwall.On the drive home my stomach was rolling and I was sick as soon as we got here.That chicken was the only thing I had ate yesterday and it made me sick.I was sick all night and today feel absolutely dreadful.I wasn't the only one to send the chicken back.A table across from us sent it back to.You could have gotten a lot of people sick from it. I get that it was a Saturday night and it was busy.However quality & service should NEVER take a backseat.The waitress didn't care about our table Bc there was 2 of us.We weren't a Big ticket.She never once acted like we were important Bc she had bigger groups to attend to.Refills were slow,rolls weren't brought out and she was never anywhere to be seen.Altho I sat facing the entrance to the kitchen by the bathrooms and looked directly in to see several waitresses eating,playing on their phones and talking.She was one of them. I'll start with 2 stars for the bread. Put my name on the waitlist 2 hours ahead for 4 ppl. Showed up at 5:45, the time that was recommended. Wasn't called up until 6:30; waited another 15 minutes for the next available table after I checked in at front; was seated in the bar area, server shows up, saying it was 2nd day on job (ok, no problem, everyone experiences that); she took drink orders and we immediately gave her our orders. Waited another 45 minutes before our steaks ever arrived. Once arrived, they were overcooked and slightly warm...damn near room temperature. Texas House management was very gracious and honored the reservation. The service by our waitress was excellent.. she was very knowledgeable of the menu. Very efficient and through it was very busy, she was able to take care of us efficiently. The food was brought in a timely matter. Served hot and to ordered . However, I must complain about the atmosphere in the restaurant.. it was not to my liken. Had such a bummer of experience on Veterans Day tonight. It is my sons and I tradition to eat here every Veterans Day. Last year was so awesome and fun, but this year was awful. The front staff of three girls were very poor. They would not even acknowledge us. Our food arrived and the steaks were very undercooked. One male manager that I had to track down tried to help us but never came back. A second female manager brought us a re cooked steak sitting in a puddle of blood and we politely rejected the again uncooked steak. She never came back as well. My wife didn't get to eat, my veteran son wasn't able to eat all of his meal either. They waiter was apologetic and said they removed the cost of one meal. Well 80.00 later for three people we payed our check. I did not mean to bring attention to ourselves, I really disliked how poorly the two managers were trained and I'll be honest we will move our Veterans Day tradition to another venue. I am heartbroken. Obviously they same management and staff have dramatically changed in just one year. Here is a picture of last year I used the chalk to decorate the floor. I ordered this evening and went to the restaurant to get my food togo. i had ordered ahead on the app and when i got to the restaurant the customer service has never been worse. the togo cashier was rude, she had attitude, and she was rushing me. my order was not ready at the quoted time either. i looked past that and went home to open my bag of food. and realized i didn't receive all of my order. if i buy a baked potato and pay extra to get the toppings, then i think i should receive my toppings. very disappointed with this experience. i absolutely recommend going to DINE IN at roadhouse. the food is excellent and they have great servers. however i do not recommend togo what so ever. i was missing food, the food took longer than the quoted time, and the customer service was awful. read more

Time of visit: Nov. 4th 2019 5:45pm. This place is legit when it comes to service. Went for dinner right working out at the gym with my GF and cousin. Gotta get that protein, right? Was definitely suffering from Hangry Pains from working out. We went for the Early Dine in menu for $9.49. Aiden was our server and Allie was the manager on duty. Country Fried Sirloin Steak was on the menu and was on my mind. Somehow, Chicken Fried Chicken came out. Aiden stated he asked me if I really wanted chicken instead of Sirloin. I can't confirm or deny but I really wanted Sirloin. it could have been the Hangry Pains. Without hesitation, Aiden put in my order for the Country Fried Sirloin and Allie, the manager on duty came by to reassure me that they will get it all worked out! 10 minutes later my Country Fried Sirloin came out nice and hot smothered in white gravy just like I like it.
