We decided to try a restaurant close to Quail Ridge Park. The staff were very friendly and quick with our order. The house salad was the perfect size. We both had the French onion soup. It was tasty, but there was a very distinct spice I couldn't place. It was not the typical taste you find with a French onion soup. I will definitely go back for a dinner entree. Have been several times before and had prime rib. Had always been good. Didn't even look at the menu today because we knew we wanted prime rib. Such a disappointment tonight! It was very tough - to the point of not being able to cut it. My husband told the waitress. She said she was sorry and asked if he wanted something else -- he ordered a hamburger. To our surprise when we got the check - the prime rib (small size) was $44.99. On the check she had backed out one prime rib (she didn't notice that I had eaten very little of mine). She then added on the price of the hamburger. We were really surprised at the price. Last time we were there (it's been a few months) it was $29 I think. So bad quality prime rib and it was $44.99. Their other food is good but doubt that we'll go back after this mess up. read more

Been reading the reviews for West Allen Grill (WAG) and gave them a try. Visited on. Friday evening at dinner time and was able to get a seat before the rush. WAG has a great steakhouse vibe and was very clean. We ordered the Margarita Chicken and Prime Rib dinner and each dish comes with two sides. Both dishes were seasoned perfectly and very delicious. Not places in the Wentzville area that serves prime rib, but WAG does it with great service and reasonable prices. Definitely coming back and highly recommend this place. Give them a try! read more

We're in town visiting and were looking forward to a good meal at West Allen Grill. Before we were seated, I asked the young man if they have GF options because I have a food allergy. He said he didn't know. I asked if he could ask because I get really sick if I eat gluten. He shouted out to a lady who worked there, asking her. She looked at me with annoyance and said, yeah we have stuff, just not a GF menu. When our server came over, I asked her about what was GF and she said she had no idea. I explained that I have a serious food allergy and I can't guess with food options. I asked if she could please get the kitchen manager or another server who knows definitely what is GF so I can try to order safely. She said she would try but she didn't know if they would be able to come. 5 minutes later, she came back to state that they were too busy to come to my table. I told her that we would have to leave because I can't take that kind of risk. She said that I could just avoid sauces and breading and I should be fine. I was extremely frustrated because even after sharing that I have a serious food allergy three times, my medical condition was not taken seriously. We left but I felt compelled to warn other people with food allergies that this probably isn't the place for you. Maybe if you went when it wasn't busy your experience would be different. But it's 2025 and if a customer's health & safety isn't a priority for management, then that's pretty scary. read more

Some of the worst "bar" food ever. The open face roast beef was room temperature at best and the gravy was definitely not homemade like they claim. I could immediately tell it was a powdered mix. That was sent back and I chose the chili instead. Again NOT homemade other than maybe browning hamburger and adding tomato sauce because tomato sauce is all that you tasted other than heat from cayenne pepper. So disappointed! The fajita taco salad wasn't much better since there was very little chicken and still not sure why it's called fajita as there was nothing resembling fajitas at all. Such a cute little restaurant in Wentzville! The parking was kind of hard, the lot area is pretty small, but it was packed so I assumed we would have a crazy wait! We only had to wait 10 minutes which was great. The food was excellent! We got a glass of moscato and a strawberry daiquiri for our dinner drinks and they were delicious! We went on a Friday and their steak was on special so my boyfriend got the steak dinner and I got the chicken fettuccini. First time visiting, and we were very pleased with service and food. The place is older, and it is really just a bar and grill kinda place. Nothing fancy whatsoever. So when you order a ribeye (cost under $30 for steak, salad, and side) don't expect Prime cuts of meat. My wife had Prime Rib and it was as expected for the very decent price they charge. Don't go expecting a steakhouse experience because that's unreasonable given the moderate pricing. And don't expect anything fancy. The drinks were very good and generous. We went for my husband's birthday on a busy early Sat. evening. We called before we left home To be put on the wait list as suggested. When we arrived we were seated in about 5 minutes although there were several people waiting. We came for the prime rib and we're not disappointed. It was very good and very reasonably priced. It came with your choice of two fancier sides- sautéed mushrooms, baked potato, Garlic bread, etc. The prime rib is only on Friday and Saturday after 5 PM. West Allen Grill is our favorite restaurant in the area. The food is always good and hot, the wait staff is excellent and it is the cleanest restaurant I've ever been in. We frequently go on Thursday nights for the prime rib. It's usually excellent, once in awhile it's a little grisly or fatty. The baked potatoes are the best. We also love their Chicken Modiga (better than a lot of Italian restaurants I've been to). I honestly can't think of anything on the menu we haven't liked and we've been going here for years. The server with pink hair was incredibly rude and refused to even ask the kitchen to help with my girlfriend allergies. I have been a regular customer for several years and have always had great experiences there. The prime rib is top notch and they have several sandwiches and wraps that are great. Personally I've always liked the buffalo chicken wrap and the roast beef sandwich. The chicken Modiga is definitely my favorite dinner there but the black n blue burger is a close second. They have a couple beers on tap and a full bar that is small, but functional. Friendly staff and very nice owner. Put name on waiting list. Waited close to a half hour with other parties of two also doing the same. Watched a party of three come in and ask how long. They were told a half hour. Three minutes later the party of three that just came in was given a table ahead of three other couples that had been waiting. Asked hostess why and she told us that they don't put parties of two at that size table. It is not first come first serve when you put your name on there waiting list. Left and spent my money else where. Doubt there whole staff has been vaccinated also. No mask wearing or COVID-19 preventive measures. The place is smallish but really nice. They have tvs on but the volume is not loud so you can actually have a conversation. Menu has many tasty items from stuffed mushrooms in a light crispy tempura battery to potato skins with actual potato on them not just burned skins with cheese. I had the blackened blue cheese burger with a side salad. Lettuce was fresh and crisp and the burger tasted like actual beef. Hub had the strip steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. We just moved back to Wentzville, having previously lived here for about ten years. I'm not sure when WAG became an establishment but if it was here before then I'm sad I missed out. It's incredible. We've been twice in the span of a week. The first time was for the prime rib on Friday night, which was delicious. Then last night was baby back ribs, which were also delicious. I'm already plotting my next visit. Everything has been consistently great, from prices to the food to the service. I love the baked potatoes as well. The only thing that hasn't been great in my opinion were the green beans, but that's just personal preference. 10/5 stars! read more

This was the worst service ever. We placed our order and spoke to the sever once in 30 min. I had to waive our sever down and ask about our dinner. Come to find out hey lost our ticket. Keep in mind they were not busy. Then the server had the nerve to ask us to pay for our drinks. I request the manager and she was very apologetic and refunder me for drinks.
