If you ever pass through or are visiting Borger, Texas I'd suggest trying out Texas Rose Steakhouse. The food is pretty good and the portions are huge, they are constantly asking if you'd like some fresh hot just came out of the oven rolls, which are definitely fresh and hot, as for service depending on who your server is, is really how service will be. It's usually a quiet, not too loud restaurant. I ordered the Cob Salad which was fresh and loaded with plenty of veggies. I also ordered a sweet potato, which was absolutely delish, if you like sweet potatoes I'd suggest ordering one, they are huge. Choice of drink was an iced tea and it tasted perfect. Even though they do have a full service bar, with TVs to watch sporting events, which is separate from the main restaurant, however you can still order food and enjoy the atmosphere in that area., while chowing down. Unfortunately it poofed my brain to even remember to take pictures of my food or of the restaurant. Next time.

One of few places in Borger to get a decent meal. Service is hit and miss depending on the server.

Wife ordered chicken fried chicken came with mashed potatoes and fried okra. 28.00 total spent (including 1 tea and 2 waters) Shrimp still tasted like fresh fish. French fries were soggy with grease. Salad was good, but had a large amount of dressing pooled on bottom of bowl. When I told the waitress about the bad french fries she responded "i'll let them know" and returned with a to go box and my check. No attempt to make me happier whatsoever. When I went to pay the check, the "manager" on duty was there. I told her that my food was nasty and she immediately turned around and swiped my card and processed it before continuing the conversation. She also made no attempt to do ANYTHING at all except she said "did you ask for more fried" to which I said I told her they were terrible and she did nothing but bring my check. Terrible customer service.... I called them and I asked for manager and it was same girl at front checkout. I then asked for her boss and she said he had left even though I saw him right before I left. He had walked around and asked how our food was, but it has just been put on table and not even tasted yet so I said nothing. I asked her to have him call me as soon as possible and left my name and number. I haven't received any call. ( have now received a call back and he seemed to want to know what happened. He said dinner is on them next time to which I responded I won't be back but if I do I'll let you know I'm there.) I wanted to put this post up to warn others. This place seems to be a bit scary. I know this is a small town, but if you have a problem and I tell you DO SOMETHING don't ignore me or patronize me.

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was fun, lively, and full of energy. The hosts were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which made us feel right at home. The food was delicious, and the portions were more than worth the price. Everything we ordered was flavorful and satisfying. What truly took our experience over the top, though, was our server, Corbin. He greet us with a great smile, he was friendly, inviting, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. He made excellent recommendations, checked on us often, and genuinely made our visit memorable. Especially when my wife forgot her sunglasses. Corbin was essential in us finding. Thank you Corbin!!! If you're passing through Amarillo, The Big Texan is definitely worth the stop, and if you get Corbin as your server, you're in for an even better experience!

Our server was very attentive and cheery. They have a very large two level dining area. The steaks are grilled in plain sight in front of the stage where the world famous 72 oz steak challenge takes place. They bring out fresh baked rolls with your meal. The half order of fried mushrooms was great. My son enjoyed his two 5 oz steak filets, my wife was very pleased with her Prime Rib. I was disappointed with my rib eye, I had to trim off too much fat. The desert was delicious. Overall, don't expect a steak you would be served at a fine steakhouse, but definitely give the Steak Ranch a visit.

The dining room was spacious, every table could be filled, and you'd still be able to walk without asking people to move in. The Bar was equally spacious with plenty of drinking options. We got the deep fried devils egg for the appetizer, these were an amazing combination of texture and flavor. We each got a steak for the main course, both were cooked to perfection and tender beyond anything in our recent memory. The sweet potatoes were so perfectly cooked in seasoned. They were easily consumed using only a fork. We followed up with banana pudding and bread pudding. Both were out of this world. It's unusual to get banana pudding that's made in house and not some flavored glue out of a can. It was topped with whipped cream that actually melted, which told me it was real whipped cream. And it wasn't premade before I ordered because all the vanilla wafers both in it and around, it were crispy and delicious. The bread pudding was equally as delicious. It was dense and sweet and had a nice subtle flavor of bourbon. Even the iced tea was made in house, not from some concentrate or taken out of a soda fountain Our server Parla was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable, she made our evening a wonderful overall experience
