I found this person on Facebook and was told it would be 130hour. It took about 4 1/2 hours to move everything and Royal, the owner, sent me a bill of 1,800 for truck and mileage. Overall, their work was done well, but complete scam artists! I will be filing suit for the fun of it. read more

YOU SHOULD NEVER EVER HIRE THIS COMPANY!! They have LOTS of HIDDEN AND SURPRISE CHARGES. They will not tell you the REAL costs until AFTER the work is done. Here's what happened to us: I found these guys thru Craigslist. Their Ad says " TEXASROYALMOVERS 100hr two mover NOW 254-216-4450 (20YEARS EXPERIENCE CALL NOW)" . So I called and this guy, Royal Berry, apparently the CEO answered. I gave him my list of stuff, Pickup AND Drop off location THEN asked him the Estimate of the bill. (So basically, he has all the data to give me a more realistic amount and considering he claims to have 20 years experience!) He said $450. Ofcourse you would expect the actual bill would be somewhere around that amount, right? Wrong! In fact, the CEO Royal Berry's scammy tactic is pretty horrifying! When all is done the following is my breakdown, which he never told me at the beginning: Labor Fee: $100 / hr x 2.5hrs = $250 Drive Time : $100 / hr x 4.5 hrs = $450 Truck Fee = $480 Gas = $200 Schedule : $80 TOTAL = $1460 I was more than surprised and very frustrated with these Hidden and High Cost Charges!! He never mentioned these charges before I committed on the phone. Only found out when he sent me the bill. If Royal Berry was being transparent with me when I called him for estimate and told me these charges from the beginning, i would not have a problem. But he kept me in the dark with these Hidden Fees. He only say to you "It's only $100 per hr" so you would commit to hire him. he will only quote the Labor Fee. But then when the invoice comes, that's when he reveals all his Surprise Charges. This is really a bad business practice. I do not know why this guy is allowed to do business like this. Please see this warning. I wish I had thoroughly done my research with this racket but relied on Google reviews in my rush. If you decide to use them please protect yourself by taking a photo of the moving van license plate and make/model for reasons to be explained below. This is a bait and switch shop. Royal will give you a low estimate over the phone yet extort you later as follows: At the day of moving, after your furniture is en route to the drop off destination, he will call you and ask for significantly more than the estimate you were given. In my case it was over a $1000.00. Once you are in shock and disbelief, the extortion begins, as you reject the price he then says he will tell his workers to turn the truck around and keep the furniture with an additional $300/night storage fee. You have little choice but to comply at that point. In order to further pad the bill he charges the driving time from where his truck leaves to the pick location, then after pick up, and after drop back to his original location. Over the phone and through his texts you are led to believe that the drive time is pick up to drop off. He mentions nothing about gas during the estimate but at extortion time (the phone call en route) charges $300 more for gas. I have the texts memorializing our moving set up with estimated costs and there is clearly nothing about gas fees, and driving time to arrive at your house and return home after the job. He advertises in San Antonio Craigslist yet lives in the Austin area. If I had known I was paying for his crew to drive to San Antonio surely I would have passed. Keep that in mind if you are not in the Austin area. I submitted a complaint to the BBB and intend to seek legal counsel. At least one review on Google here comes from his employee who promised me he would cover the cost of fixing the piano pedals he broke off during transport (after Royal refused to pay by incoherently screaming at me). I would not trust the positive reviews on Google. Look at the BBB website. The floor of my new home is also scratched from their moving efforts and other furniture is scratched and broken. Like the other Yelp reviewer stated, Royal kept blurting how great his company was during this nightmare. PLEASE read the BBB reviews (not the reviews his employee submits on Google) and consider mine as well as the other which relay the same bait and switch before going with this bait and switch scammer. No one should have to suffer what my wife, young child and I have had to suffer with these rotten fleecing tactics. This is not Royal Movers. This is a Royal scam. I would recommend Texas Royal Movers. I contacted them within a week of needing to move. Therefore I needed everything and I had over 14000lbs. The owner Royal came out to survey my property and promised he would pack and deliver my furniture from Ft Hood, TX to VA in 96 hrs. if I could give them a negative factor, I would I booked them at the last minute I spoke with Barry who quoted me $100 per hour with two men plus travel. So we estimated $800 they come to my apartment with a 10 foot truck for my two bedroom apartment fully furnished they did not get everything on the truck. They move me from Temple to Austin and they will not unload you until you pay first. That's how they get over on people so they give me a bill bill which is 1350 now if I'm correct that would mean they worked 13 1/2 hours if the price is $100 an hour in which they started at 11:30 because they drove to me and they were done by 5 o'clock that does not amount to 1350. These people are scam artist do not ever use them. when they unload me, they destroyed my TV stand and tore my couches. They are the worst company ever. read more

I ended up paying 5 times as much as they quoted me. They kept changing the price. It took them twice as long as they said it would. They used double the trucks they said they were going to use. We had to use our own vehicles and help them pack because they were taking too long. They broke two of my antiques. When they unloaded they left half of our boxes in the driveway. And they bragged the whole time of how good they were and how good of a deal he was giving me. When people brag how good they are, they're usually not. read more

This company did an excellent job; professionals. I had a wall unit that needed to be, They took the time to pad walls, stairs, and floor. They handle the unit and took care to ensure the walls were not damaged, which was a small space to maneuver the wall unit. Royal and his team have been fantastic to work with. They worked until 2am to get us moved into our new house. They've also come back and helped us a few times with moving stuff around our property and hauling our junk away. Their prices are fair, and they're courteous and professional.
