Unfortunately, a tree fell on my travel trailer during Beryl. The front end and roof were damaged…read more We needed a new roof, air conditioner and the front end replaced. We took it to Houston RV Repair on 45 North. We had used them once before in 2020. Work was satisfactory. Unbeknownst to us, they have changed ownership. This visit has turned into a NIGHTMARE! They kept it 4 months. A month in, they asked for a deposit. I received the first of two checks from my insurance co. Reluctantly, I signed over the 7,600k check to them as they were asking for a down payment. A week or so later they talked to my insurance co and filed a supplemental claim. The check was mailed to them. This 3k plus check was mailed with my name as well as theirs. They cashed it without my signature. Now, except for my 500-dollar deductible, they've been paid in full. 3 months later we start calling them. Rarely does someone answer the phone at the shop. You leave a message, and they DON'T return the call. My husband reaches them finally and he's told - "Oh, yes...it will be ready next week". They ask for the deductible. I said, no way...not till we pick it up. TWO weeks later we're finally told it's ready. My husband goes to pick it up near their closing time. It was a rushed transaction. Unfortunately, my husband didn't go inside the trailer, nor did he receive any paperwork or invoice. It was dark when he got home with the trailer. The next morning, I went inside the trailer. OMG, it's trashed. Screws, trash, tools, tacks and sawdust are everywhere. My trailer has never been so dirty. My bed had tacks and screws and large chunks of wood all over it. It took me 3 hours to scrub and clean the trailer. I had to wash walls, floors and all surfaces as they were covered in sawdust and dirt. I also discovered that my 50ft power cord had been replaced with a 25ft cord with exposed wires. There was a hole punched in my ceiling, and someone had been through my cabinets. I call to complain and of course...no answer. I called the next day and called and called till finally they answered. I spoke to Michael (owner) and explained my problems. He acted very nonchalant until I said..."you stole my power cord" he then says he must put me on hold because he's so mad I accused them of stealing. The conversation goes downhill from there. We ended the unpleasant call with the promise that he would find my misplaced power cord and call me back. Of course, I never got that call. So, I grab their inferior cord and drive to the shop. I walk in and throw the cord on the floor and demand my cord. Now I'm getting yelled at by an employee for throwing the cord on the floor. Unbelievable conversation ensues and it seems I'm the villain for wanting my 50ft cord that's not damaged. Terrible unproductive conversation while being threatened that they will call police to file trespassing charges on me. I leave! Call my insurance to get a copy of the invoice. One obvious thing, 582.49 charge for replacing the decals on the front. The problem is...NO DECALS INSTALLED. I'm wondering what else was charged but not done. To add to all the insults...it appears the work they did do is faulty. We have a leak upfront where the work was done. So, theft, insurance fraud, cashing a check without my signature and work that leaves me with a leaking trailer. They have caused me great emotional stress. Houston RV repair has been in denial about everything. They immediately went defensive and never once asked how they could make me happy. I was the enemy for expecting a clean trailer and my belongings to be intact and to have work completed that was paid for in full.
