I bought a trailer last week but it needed a little axle work. I was recommended ASAP by an RV…read moreshop owner up in Magnolia and he said Justin is great so I headed down to score some Dexter rear bearing seals and some hub caps for precaution knowing they might get wrecked during removal. When I went in, and Mr Justin was on the desk working some customers and as soon as he wrapped up, I told him what I needed and he was like, "Top shelf, middle aisle on the left, second section, second box from the end". I pointed, and he's like 'almost, over one to the right....... no, your other right", (of course y'all know what just happened there), and he said, ;those right there are your real main seal for Dexter 7Ks". I grabbed four. and then he gave me similar directions for the caps. You know, the down, over three boxes, bit. By the ay, all of this is going on while bro is behind the desk doing stuff. Legitimate multi-tasking and stuff. I asked aquestion about the trailer batteries and grabbed and extra bearing set for good measure and then just asked some general trailer questions. Stuff I actually knew and stuff I didn't. Justin was wicked helpful and I loaded up and rolled back to Magnolia where I was staying for a few days to repack my bearings. When I got all the stuff off, the E-Z lube was working accordingly and there was no scoring or marring on any of the bearings and the real seals were in good shape. Turns out, they only get really blown if using a powered grease gun to press the old grease out. I took the trailer out for a quick airworthiness check and wanted to get it through the truck wash becasue it's gross and been sitting in that TX climate for the last several years. When I stopped, the hub was hella hot!! I hit it with the temp-gun and it was coming in at 220 (BTW, y'all make sure you use that Lucas Complex.... 540 degrees, good stuff) but still far from breakdown. Left side was at 140 but right side was 220.... yeah, no bueno. He calls his mini-me over, Mr Case, a young lad who's packing a great work ethic and he jacks up the trailer and they do a quick hub check. Yeah, well, guess what, the wheels we're proper seated not he right side so he gets Case to handle that. Case is an ambitions young man and I was like, "when you taking over like Justin did with this place", he laughed and we chatted away a bit about these trailers... again, super knowledgable. Concurrently, I requested if I musth be able to return the unused parts considering the nature of whY I was way down in TX in the first place and Justin agreed. Case got everything all seated and the axle nut caged and hub recapped. I rolled out and for those that say an mis-seated bearing only causes vibe.... better to get up to speed. Justing had this situation diagnosed and did me a big solid. His man Case is top-notch as well, great youn g man.... the whole staff is great and their clientele seem to be quite loyal as I was chatting away with some of the ones who walked in. One dude from way up in Conroe..... but apparently this is his go to shop and after a few interactions with this crew, I can see why he comes here for his parts and service. I just wanted to take the time to give the abbreviated version of a great encounter when I was on the road waaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyy down south away from home and it's at times like these where people can really capitalize on an opportunity for "a different level of need and urgency" (know know what I mean)..... ASAP did not do that at all. Justin has been here since he was a teen and is calling the shots now and he's training his people the same way he learned. I can not give a stronger recommendation for such a great place with a killer staff and super knowledgable. Both Justin and Case made best effort to take al already 'could be' funky situation which if not addressed, got pretty hairy and 1500 miles from home. When I checked my hubs periodically on the way out of TX, I never got over 130 (except for the stop and go in traffic, can't help that) . ASAP are high-ethics and good business, empathic to a situation and masters of their craft. Every time I head back to Montgomery/Harris for whatever reason henceforth, ASAP is my only trailer place I care to deal with. I purchased a 2015 Tiffin Phaeton from Top Choice RV in January 2026 and would strongly encourage…read moreanyone considering buying from them to proceed with extreme caution. During the sales process, I was told the RV had no mechanical issues, no water leaks, and no prior damage. I was also charged a $799 vehicle preparation fee, which I understood meant the coach had been inspected and was ready for use. Within the first use of the RV, multiple significant issues surfaced: The driver-side slide would not retract properly (this issue was already present at pickup) The rooftop AC system caused water to pour into the interior through vents and speakers The dash AC system was not working and has since been diagnosed with a failed evaporator requiring replacement (~$2,400 repair) A rear oil leak appeared immediately after returning home Further inspection revealed prior fiberglass structural repair that was not disclosed at the time of sale These are not minor issues -- they are material defects that either existed at delivery or were not disclosed. To date, I've incurred and been quoted several thousand dollars in repairs. I made multiple good-faith attempts to resolve this directly with the dealership and provided detailed documentation, invoices, and photos. No meaningful resolution was offered. As a result, I have filed a complaint with the Texas DMV. I understand that used RVs are sold as-is, but that does not excuse inaccurate representations or undisclosed material issues. At a minimum, buyers should not assume a vehicle has been properly inspected simply because a "prep fee" is charged. My advice to anyone considering Top Choice RV: Get an independent inspection before purchase Personally verify every major system Do not rely on verbal representations I would not make this purchase again.
