So far not a good experience! Lenses took weeks too long to receive. Never called me, I had to call…read morethem and push them about it, then bingo the next day they call to say they're ready! Worse once I got them I told the "optician" I could not see out of the computer glass pair, and she kept insisting it was something I would have to get used to. I explained these are not progressive glasses that you have to get used to. They should work when I put them on. She insisted the Doctor requires a four week follow up. I said I can't wait four weeks!!! I have to work and read and write contracts for a living. I need to see now. She said it was afternoon and maybe my eyes were tired to try again in the morning. I did and had the same problem, I spent at least $1500 plus on two pairs of glasses! The next day after I take them home, I had to go to my regular eye doctor and have them take those lenses out and put my old ones back in one pair so I could see and work over the weekend! I then tried to wear the computer glasses a few more times but never worked. I then called multiple times no answer!!! So I sent a detailed email requesting a response or to speak with the doctor because I live an hour away. I also left a voicemail, and again a voicemail the next day. Now 48 hours still no reply!!! So I called again the third time and at 2:30 PM was told both doctors were out of the office. I asked why no one has called me or responded to my email and the receptionist said the 2 doctors/owners are both very busy with patients all day. I asked when can I expect to hear back from them tomorrow? She said she doesn't know because they're both very busy all day. I said tomorrow's Friday, so am I supposed to do wait through the whole weekend and just see what happens next week?! Pathetic customer service and no way to treat patients in need of glasses spending thousands! They say their Theralense company is Superior for those needing prisms. Apparently here's ZERO expected follow up with the doctor for one month after the optician gives you your glasses! Beware! There's apparently few BVD binocular vision disorder (or miss alignment problem in my case) specialty doctors, which is why I engaged here. But there was another I found in Tomball, may have to check out. They say zero refunds also!!! BEWARE!!! I'm now referring to these doctors as the Wizards of Oz because they're behind an iron curtain and impossible to engage with beyond your initial visit. At least my experience so far. Really pathetic when you spent so much time and money that the opticians and receptionist are super flipping and you can't get any answers or return calls or emails about your concerns, or next steps to take!!!

Sure enough they no longer take my insurance since January, but failed to let me know of these changes. When I queried this I was told they would have let me know a few days before my appointment. CustomEyes Pearland was highly rated so I decided to give them a try. Scheduling was pretty easy. I went online and requested an appointment and was called back in a fair amount of time to finish. Their office is located right off 288 and Broadway, easy to get to and has plenty of parking. I arrived early as requested and there was still a bit of a wait even after my appointment. We started off with all the usual tests prior to seeing the doctor. Times have changed when it comes to yearly exams. There is alot of new tests they recommend which also comes with more out of pocket expenses. I found the front desk and others to be straight business without the service with a smile. It's not a must, but it does make you feel a little more welcome. I saw Dr. May on my visit and she was a pleasure to see. Super friendly and very knowledgeable. She ordered a few trials for my contacts and sent my on my way. After that is where I felt service went downhill. I have high astigmatism and I knew there would be a wait, but it was almost 3 weeks without a call from the office. I called once and they said they would get back to me and they didn't. The next time I called about a week later, they said one of the two trials were there and waiting to be picked up. How was I supposed to know that without a call. The same thing happened with my second trial. I just found it odd that I had to reach out every time. Needless to say, though I liked the doctor I saw, the overall customer service left alot to be desired. I didn't even end up using my yearly benefits here. I'm glad many people have liked the service here, but I will keep searching.

However, I went back a few days ago since my vision did not seem quite right with my new progressive glasses, my very first pair of glasses ever. After explaining several times that something wasn't right, I kept getting push back and was told that I simply need to get used to wearing my glasses. Finally, they told me I could take new measurements, after going back and forth. We took the new measurements and it turns out, adjustments to the measurements and the prescription needed to be made. I should not have had to press the staff like that to make sure my measurements and prescriptions were correct.

Making the appointment was easy and forms were completed at the appointment versus online. Although that was different from my other medical apppointment experiences, it made sense since the only thing my Mom had to confirm was her personal and insurance information when she checked in. Dr. Thomas went over my Mom's specific health conditions and medication when she examined her. If you think about it, many of us submit our medical information and it goes in a file but is it brought up my physician unless the patient mentions it? Or better yet, I've had information I've done online and had to redo the same information because the system didn't save it (True story and that happenned several times at a local vision center that I will not mention here). Therefore this was refreshing to only complete or share once. Staff is so friendly and Dr. Thomas is a gem. This was my Mom's first appointment and Dr. Thomas took her time getting to know her and vice versa. What really stunned me was that this lady admitted she wasn't feeling her best but still uplheld her appointments with patients. That's devotion- and it was much appreciated for sure even though we would have understood the reshedule. It took me YEARS for my Mom to change her care to Houston area doctors. Dr. Thomas and EOP keep proving that Mom took the right advice and is getting the best care to keep her quality of life pristine. I only called to advise that I would be 5 minutes late due to having lost my keys at work. The reply was that they were closing early to get employees home before the ice. While I can understand safety, that should have been a call made this morning!!! The Winter Weather Advisory does not even apply to our area. On the other hand, it's been in effect since 2pm. So, either way, my appointment either should have been honored or I should have been notified earlier of the cancellation!
