My youngest was interested in contacts but had a lot of anxiety about putting things in her eye. There was a young lady,Morgan, that patiently helped her learn how to put the contacts in and how to remove them. The office manager, Donna, also showed great care and patience while we had to go through a few extra steps to find the contacts that were the most comfortable in my daughters inexperienced eyes. Of course I am also greatfull to Dr Hilliard. She is truly a gem. She has a talent for making her patients feel relaxed and comfortable. All of this personal care and interest was given to my children while maintaining strict social distancing standards. We felt safe and cared for! I brought in a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses to have prescription lenses installed. I specifically told the owner, Phil B., that I planned to have cataract surgery within a year and would want the original Ray-Ban lenses put back in afterward. When I picked up my glasses, the original Ray-Ban lenses were missing. I was assured they would contact the lab and resolve the issue. After several follow-up calls, Carlos was not only unhelpful but also rude, repeatedly telling me to be patient and that it would take time. Two weeks later, I spoke with Phil, who promised he would replace the lenses. I even contacted Ray-Ban myself and learned replacement lenses would cost about $140. Over the next six months, every time I called for an update, Phil said he would order the replacement lenses and get back to me, but nothing ever happened. After being a loyal customer for years, I expected better. Instead, I was met with rude customer service, excuse after excuse, and promises that were never kept. More than six months later, the issue remains unresolved. Extremely disappointing experience.

CustomEyes Pearland was highly rated so I decided to give them a try. Scheduling was pretty easy. I went online and requested an appointment and was called back in a fair amount of time to finish. Their office is located right off 288 and Broadway, easy to get to and has plenty of parking. I arrived early as requested and there was still a bit of a wait even after my appointment. We started off with all the usual tests prior to seeing the doctor. Times have changed when it comes to yearly exams. There is alot of new tests they recommend which also comes with more out of pocket expenses. I found the front desk and others to be straight business without the service with a smile. It's not a must, but it does make you feel a little more welcome. I saw Dr. May on my visit and she was a pleasure to see. Super friendly and very knowledgeable. She ordered a few trials for my contacts and sent my on my way. After that is where I felt service went downhill. I have high astigmatism and I knew there would be a wait, but it was almost 3 weeks without a call from the office. I called once and they said they would get back to me and they didn't. The next time I called about a week later, they said one of the two trials were there and waiting to be picked up. How was I supposed to know that without a call. The same thing happened with my second trial. I just found it odd that I had to reach out every time. Needless to say, though I liked the doctor I saw, the overall customer service left alot to be desired. I didn't even end up using my yearly benefits here. I'm glad many people have liked the service here, but I will keep searching.

However, I went back a few days ago since my vision did not seem quite right with my new progressive glasses, my very first pair of glasses ever. After explaining several times that something wasn't right, I kept getting push back and was told that I simply need to get used to wearing my glasses. Finally, they told me I could take new measurements, after going back and forth. We took the new measurements and it turns out, adjustments to the measurements and the prescription needed to be made. I should not have had to press the staff like that to make sure my measurements and prescriptions were correct.

I took one pair by and they replaced the pads, tightened them up, straightened and cleaned them all for $5. I took another pair today and they did it all (with exception of the new pads) for not a penny. And as a bonus I got this sweet little note from the lady's daughter, Kay and a big hug, both of which made my day. I'll be back the next time I'm due for a brand new pair. When I tried to try on one frame, without even trying it on, she's like: "don't put them back, we need to sanitize them. This one, too." and grabbed them immediately. She needed to wear her gloves while giving me eye drops for the sanitizing purpose. Worst medical worker experience I have had so far.I wanted to like this place but I won't unless she's gone.
