Good eye doctor and optometry that gets the job done. Easy to make an appointment and they weren't too booked out. Store/office smells nice and the doctor was quick, polite, and listened to questions. The nurses were also very kind. Not a huge selection of frames that's why I docked a star, lots of empty space on the walls. The ladies out front helped me pick a good fit based on what I was looking for. You know I was just in this place yesterday for eye exam the front desk was nice. The person who took me back to the room for eye exam was awesome. The doctor herself was very helpful also. The thing I didn't like were the two women at the end. Can tell all they do is gossip about customers/ coworkers because they were huddled in a corner whispering away. I would rate 0 if there was an option. I came for a simple eye check. The doctor and other technicians were great. BEWARE: They definitely mess around with charging. I was signing their papers. There was a paper where it is mentioned they charge $49 for Optos reimaging. While I was reading that page, I got interrupted twice by a lady there at one of the front desk. She then hurried me to sign it and my copay should have been $10. After the rest when I was asked to pay the bill. They said it's $59. $49 for the Optos that I signed up for and $10 copay. I felt I was tricked into this. Now yes, they did the service so I have to pay but not even a single time they called it out verbally and they expected me to ask a question on this. When I called my insurance, they said TSO should not be charging more than $39. When I called back to check TSO said, they will call back and the manager called. She said that part was overlooked at their end. No apologies or anything at this point. Said she will refund the $10 back. When I told her you (as in your company not you as a person) gave me an impression as if you tricked me into signing this and did not even tell this verbally. She got really defensive and said "how can you say 'you' I don't even know this". I again told her that I don't mean you as a person but you as a company. She then wanted to work with me and apologizes but says as an adult I should be looking what I sign and ask questions. Here is where I stopped her from lecturing me on how to be an adult. DO NOT GIVE THIS TSO DR ERIN JACOB YOUR BUSINESS! They are rated 2.5 on yelp for good reasons! Do your research. I made the mistake of not reading reviews. My husband went in for an eye infection and pink eye at 1:20 on a Friday. They are closed on the weekend. He was prescribed antibiotics. The doctor, Erin Jacob, made the comment that their phones and internet was down but she would call the prescription in. I called the pharmacy 4 times and nothing was called in. I tried one last time before they closed and nothing. They also checked their other pharmacy's just in case it was sent to the wrong one. I called the TSO office to check if I could pick up a written prescription before they closed but their phones were still down. My husband's eye got worse that evening and by the advice of two nurses he should not wait to start antibiotics because the infection could move to the brain. So I took him to urgent care and finally started antibiotics that night, Friday. Good thing he did because the next morning it had spread to his other eye, Saturday. I called TSO on Monday to get a refund for services not rendered and Dr Erin Jacob said she did call it in on Friday. I called back the pharmacy and was notified that she not only called it in on Saturday, not Friday as she claimed, she called it in to the wrong pharmacy. They are now claiming that my husband gave the address to the wrong pharmacy after they had just verified the right address to me 3 times over the phone. This is unacceptable and unprofessional. She could have called me with her personal phone on Friday and I gladly would have picked up a written prescription and dropped it off myself. On a side note the front staff was polite, kind, and helpful. Update: As you can read the comment TSO just left. They are not just unprofessional they are also going out of there way to lie about our experience. They talked to me about my husband's visit not only once but five times. So they broke their confidentiality agreement, according to them. My husband never called to apologize for any drama because I didn't cause any. Wow! Please stay away from this business. They are willing to lie and break agreements when it fits their agenda. If you had a bad experience with this TSO and or Dr Erin Jacob please leave a review on google and report them to the Better Business Bureau. I will say the first time I went to this TSO, it was a fairly pleasant experience. However, when we called to make an appointment for myself, wife, and son, they told us that they have some bizarre policy that they won't see more than two family members at a time. So we asked if they hasld appointments open for December 9th and they saidnthe whole day was open. So we asked if we could book three slots that day. She said again that they won't see more than two family members and that they will not make the appointments with us. I can only assume from this weird policy that this TSO location now dislikes having patients that have families of more than two folks. It's too inconvenient for them, so they figure it's better for the customer to take multiple days off work to get three...three people seen on the dame day for appointment blocks the business has open. Aside from being incredibly anti-family, it's just really dumb business sense. I can only assume they don't enjoy making a living at what they do as well. read more

I initially came here because I saw a previous 5-star review that was hilarious, but it was surrounded by all these 1-star's. I decided to give this place a chance, and it was well worth it! I came here for a prescription, glasses, and contacts. After everything I paid around $400+ w/ insurance. Which was fine. But after 2 weeks of no call back or anything, I called myself to check on my order and turns out I was only getting glasses, FOR $400+!! Contacts were not in my order was gonna be additional. Which I let slide, I picked up my glasses and they said I could come back and have them adjusted if they didn't fit right. Alrighty folks sit down and buckle TF up because I'm about to learn you some knowledge on obstetricians and TSO Buda specifically....First of all I'm convinced everyone who works here has worked for Chick-Fil-A because, much like the staff at Chick-fil-A they are super helpful and polite. And did I mention they have free bottles of water but, because they channel inner Chick-Fil-A energy they got them fancy bottles of water that comes in a metal can. None of this one use plastic Ozarka water bottles. No sir it's that high class water that if I didn't know any better, contained the tears of Angels from heaven it taste so good, crisp and clean......and lemme just put y'all on there customer service for a second. My glasses were manufactured wrong a year ago but because of the rona being a total hoe I chose to just deal with it and gosh darn it wouldn't you know, I mentioned it to the staff and low and behold they were like "oh no honey we gone take care of you ta day" and boom. Ordered me new frames at no cost. If that ain't some chick fi a type customer service then idk what is. I always have a great experience at this office. But I went today and ordered two pairs of sunglasses one prescribed and one not, using the buy one get second pair half off deal. But then I noticed they marked up the second pair from 249.00 to 336.00 I asked why and was told that because they are a third party they don't give the same price as Ray-Ban. I told her that the price I was showing her was from sun glass hut that is a third party. Not only that, if that was the case why didn't they markup the first pair that is prescribed. I called the one in Kyle and they said no we don't mark up the prices. When I called back to cancel the order they were almost glad to cancel it for me. This place happens to be right next to my apartment complex, and it just opened so i decided to check out a new local shop. While I was asking about a contact exam, one thing stood out... NOT A SINGLE ONE of their staff (even the DR!!! ) were wearing masks at any point!!! OMG - I'm not going to let you breathe your germs in my face.... there's a pandemic going on!! Isn't that a health code violation??? Decided to just go browse at their glasses. Aside from the disregard for coronavirus, no one approached me for a really long time. When she finally did, she wasnt concerned with what I needed. She keeps shadowing me while I'm walking around. I find out the optimetrist isnt even from here... so much for shopping local :/ Finally, the selection was about the same stuff you find everywhere. I thought there would be a unique selection, but left empty handed. Knocking off a star because I was told the contacts I needed didn't come in my prescription.. so I got some half a step down. Not sure what that is about. With over 10 years of office management experience, I tend to prefer the establishment have the full opportunity to rectify patient/customer concerns directly. Unfortunately, I have been patiently awaiting a callback from Dr. Jacob's since 7/7/22. I take full ownership that I didn't read the Yelp reviews before booking my eye exam at TSO/Buda - I blindly went into my appt., 1 hour after putting down a family pet, and failed to fully read the disclosures before quickly signing all paperwork presented at intake. So needless to say I paid out of pocket for extra tests to be ran, that was all fine. I selected a pair of frames in house (very minimal selection) and opted out of all the upgrades or add ons due to just having spent extra on eye tests and having just put our fur kid down. After a night to reflect on my lens order, I realized I actually needed some of the extras (light reflection), I called Friday (the next day)to try and make edits to the order - the employee said "Dr Jacob's will need to override since your claim has already been submitted to insurance. I will call you back by end of day. I did not hear back from the employee. I have called every business day since 7/8 and kindly requested a call from the doctor herself (at this point). Have yet to receive acknowledgment of my inquiry. Dr. Jacob's and team - I hope you treat others better. This is by far the worst customer experience I have ever received in my 33 years, including experienced via FB Marketplace and Craigslist. That speaks volumes. read more

Front desk is horrible! Worst TSO I have ever been to on top of that. Receptionist couldn't even read the RX for my sons eyeglasses over the phone. She said I would have to come in person or she can fax it to me. she said the reason was because she has no access to that info but had just said she can pull it up and fax it or hand it to me in person. after I mentioned that to her she well only the Doctor can read that you over the phone so I said okay can you just have the doctor call me back with that info and she said no I can't we are busy. So ridiculous! Why even pay for their services if they can't even give you your own info over the phone. And it also took 2 months for my son to get his glasses back on top of that. read more

Hubby went in today for an appt. Was asked to put his face on equipment and asked for a wipe to sanitize it before putting his face on it. Doctor handed him a dry tissue and seemed annoyed he even asked. Maybe they're not big on COVID risks? Not sure. Facility is new and nice but he did not care for customer service or the way he was treated. They couldn't locate his frames and he had to call a location in Austin to send over, they basically told him to just go through the Austin office for the rest of the transaction. read more

After living in the Buda area for a couple years and traveling to the Austin TSOs I was so excited to finally see one open in Buda.. I first tried another location in a neighboring town and didn't have a great experience and called Buda to see if they could squeeze me in before closing, the woman on the phone was very helpful, and when I arrived at the store the whole team was great and welcoming, they were very knowledgeable about not only their products and promotions, but my insurance and what they could offer me before even looking.
