My wife made appointments for both of us to get a checkup on our vision. Her appointment was at 10am and started on time and mine was at 10:20 and I waited in the waiting room 45 minutes and ended up not going through with my appointment. When I told the receptionist that I needed to reschedule my appointment due to the long wait and that they had meetings I couldn't miss. I said I'd like to have an appointment that we can guarantee starts on time. To which she replied "we are a doctors office and stuff happens and we can't guarantee that" I replied in every other line of business if you are running late or something changes from the expectations that were initially set COMMUNICATION is key and goes a long way and in the medical community that concept is lost read more

Initially we made an appointment with Dr. Peters in Lockhart. Unfortunately Dr.Peters was booked out for months and we can see why. This place is very unorganized, appears to not know how to use their own systems and made recommendations for us to change our contacts from a brand we had been in for years to the brand they recommend. This brand ended up being terrible. To make matters worse we waited weeks to get our contacts and received text messages that they were ready. When arriving inside the business an employee shouted, " hey the Myer's are here and their contacts are ready!" Only one set of contacts were located. To make matters worse we were asked to leave the business because we were not wearing a mask. I respect private business's rights to choose who they service and do not based on their rules. It's very hard to respect a business that doesn't appear to have their services together but are highly motivated to enforce a mask policy. OK, I get that their building was damaged in an accident. But there's really no excuse for not answering their phone, updating their voicemail message, putting a sign on the door, or otherwise acknowledging customer concerns. My glasses are two weeks overdue; maybe they're at another location in Kyle, with no indication of the name of that office or address or how to find out. Perhaps I'll just contact my bank and have them cancel payment. Maybe that will finally get someone's attention. They've lost my business and maybe they're actually out of business. The service here is great. they take care of you while you are being seen. it only gets a three, because on the flip side, I paid out of pocket for the service and they didn't provide me with a pair of glasses. I thought, okay, Tricare approved them, rated at a 100% disability rate, and have not been able to get the VA optical to accept the script because they are not on the approval list and it doesn't fit into my budget..... I called the VA twice, so no benefits for me this year. Excellent bedside manner but not the place for veterans or their spouses. Second time I have gone to vision source in Lockhart. 1st was ok. So I came here for me to give them a second shot. 2nd time: I came to get my exam and they were gonna get back to me on my contact trials. So 3 weeks have Gone by and nothing yet on my trials. So I called and the sail they haven't came in yet. A week went by and I asked about them and that's when they have told me that their tech didn't put my order in for the trials and that now I have had to wait 2-3 more weeks for the trials to come in. So here we are 3 weeks later and have yet to hear anything from them. This was the last straw for. Hope other people have better luck than I've had. read more

Buyer beware! Second time for bad glasses. Not sure why I went back either!!! First pair that I got last year- they couldn't get the bi-focal right. They finally got that corrected, but they were never right. At least they transitioned in my car. Second pair purchased a few months ago will not transition in my car and I can't read road signs. They just ok for computer work. I was told that I had the darkest transition available, but that can't be true! I am having to wear prescription sunglasses that are four years old in order to see road signs and drive safely. Thank you Lens C after for a good product! I was thinking of today that they would make me new on a, but I can't trust them! It's an inferior product that they charge primo prices for! I've been wearing glasses for over 50 years. Needed eyes checked due to a medical reason & to see if prescription changed. Copay $85. Checked eyes with machines, one printed on short piece of paper. Met DR, looked into eyes, did the 'which lens makes it clearer, read clearest line.' Found microanyrisms. Was told to return in a month 'will not be a regular appt, get you in and out, just to see if it's gone.' I thought he was really being concerned. Returned to find they wanted another $85 copay, and the only thing "not like a regular appt" was that he wouldn't ask me the 'which is clearer or read the lines.' I left without seeing him. 1st: why try to take every last penny someone has? Where are their expenses? Receipt paper cost too much?? They wanted TWO copays, along with billing my insurance TWICE! 2nd: What's my prescription????? I didn't want their glasses or contacts. I wanted my prescription so I can buy contacts cheaper ANYWHERE ELSE! But somehow, it wasn't written down anywhere- even in their portal. I'll never go back! NOT RECOMMENDED! Responding to Marie K. 1-6-2022: I did call your office. Twice about this, then requested my own records. It's not necessarily about the copay, but the lack of providing me with my eye prescription. I went through the whole eye exam...and you can't give me my own prescription. My eyes were tested, doc went through the lenses to see what worked best for me, but still has not provided me with my prescription. After paying that high copay, it should be an easy deal to just get my prescription!!!!! read more

Doctor want able to make it in to the office. I arrived 5 minutes before my appointment time. They never bothered to call or text to reschedule my appointment. Everyone's circumstances are different, but for this appointment I took time off from work, drove the toll, in 35 degree icy conditions from 35 minutes away. Rather ridiculous that their office would be so un caring that they think letting the patient drive all the way in before telling them they will need to reschedule. DO NOT SPEND YOUR VISION HEALTH DOLLARS AT THIS BUSINESS - after failing to properly fill a single prescription for two pairs of frames they first tried to tell me that the prescription was wrong - after putting the lenses on the verification apparatus they verified that one pair was not made correctly but that the other was correct - I had the lenses checked at a third party (Austin Eye) - the pair that Vision Source said was correct to the prescription was improperly measured against my pupils so the focal point was so low that the glasses are not usable - the other pair did not even get one of the lenses ground right so they are unusable - The doctors may be competent but the rest of the staff that I worked with have no training for this job - they clearly do not know what they are doing - the culture of the organization was to find fault anywhere but with their work - They reluctantly offered to fix the ones that they clearly got wrong but I was SOL on the ones that they said were correct - even though a third party confirmed that neither pair of lenses were properly made - Why would anyone trust them a second time - if you use them you will be getting third tier service - these good reviews must be from relatives - read more

This review has been a long time coming. I kept giving Lockhart another chance but today they lost my business, my husbands' business, and any referrals that I may have to give. A couple of years ago I had an issue with front staff, because they had implemented a new 'processing fee' on credit and debit card transactions but failed to let patients know until they were in the office with no choice but to be hit with said fee. Strike one. During Covid times they seemed to be taking caution, or just didn't have any patients when I went in - the front office this time wasn't aware of what I was scheduled for. Strike two. Today this is my 5th year going to Lockhart and traffic out of Austin was bad, I attempted to call but couldn't get through so I just did my best to get there. I walked in at 4:12, yes I'm late for an appointment (which is unusual for me) but out of my control. I look over and the waiting room is full. The front desk gal with two patient forms in front of her informed me that I was more than 10 mins late and they wouldn't be able to see me. First off, if you value your patients you'd understand that sometimes things happen - 2 mins past your 'rule of rescheduling'. As I think about it now, they were most likely already overbooked. Because if not, there would be no reason they couldn't have made my appointment that I scrambled to get to. Also it's a Friday, it's possible that front desk girl just wanted to make sure she got out at 5. Strike three. While I don't have an issue with Dr. Ramos per se, I also don't feel like he even really gets to know his patients - something my husband had struggled with as we had a great relationship with our doc in Seattle. I convinced him to give him a chance and his last visit improved but will be his last. Your front office is a reflection of your business, and I hate to say it but they can do better. read more

I just want to rave real quick about Lockhart vision source and the staff was completely completely amazing and Dr. Ramos young guy very professional very kind and very patient and I was amazed at how thorough and how patient he was because my kids were like running around crazy. I have a 7 year old who has autism and loves turning off lights. And very strong Willed. And De. Ramos did not get aggravated nor inpatient. I appreciate and love that about his character and I am he could've gotten mad or irritated and he didn't so I'm thankful for that but the staff Stephen am the technician was super amazing I am Man I just can't explain in the words it was just an awesome experience. My contact lens prescription is more difficult than most due to previous surgery and astigmatism. Dr. Ramos worked with me until he found just the right combo of lenses for me to be comfortable and have good vision.
