I ordered glasses and was told it would take 4-5 days and that time came and went. I received zero communication ever letting me know a problem had occurred. We contacted the office on several occasions to find out if the glasses were ready and nothing. Three weeks later even though we were originally told three to four days. I finally called and was told there was a problem with the lenses. Again, zero communication letting us know about the delay and they refused to offer us a discount after all that time. I will never purchase eye glasses from them again. Lesson learned. Last, I hope they read my complaint because when I spoke to the customer service person she gave me attitude during our conversation and never apologized. There is an issue here with the support staff. I'm not knocking the entire staff, but just the employee(s) who are supposed to return customers' phone calls. Nobody answers the phone when the office is called. A prompt asks that a message be left, it was, yet there was no return call. This was very frustrating. Read the negative reviews where the office employees don't answer the phone and won't return calls. That was my experience as well. I went to see the eye doctor at this location for my last visit over a year ago and had a good experience. I am trying to book a new appointment, and can't get a return phone call, even after multiple attempts. Perhaps the office is closed for vacation, I don't know. My experience with this office has been the strangest that I have encountered in the business world. When I received a reminder to come in for my annual vision exam, I called their office when I was unable to do the online appointment due to their system having an error in programming. I called a few times and I never received a call back. Nothing. If a business wants more business, calling back a customer shouldn't be that difficult. It was very frustrating. Staff was very friendly, courteous and patient when we picked out our glasses frames. We were see within 10 minutes of our appointment time. The eye examination went very quickly and efficiently. I was very pleased with the exam thoroughness, and since we had been here before, how quickly we were finished and ready to pick out frames. The staff member helping us pick out frames was knowledgeable and had a lot of good input on how the frames looked. They all seem to blend together after you're there for a while. He was also very patient with us as it took a while for us to decide on framed. He was also very knowledgeable about our insurance and how it worked. We have been here before and will definitely be returning for our next exam. The only negative I could say is that it takes 2 to 3 weeks to get your glasses in. Seems like the old days of getting your glasses while you wait or next day glasses is no longer an option. Or perhaps in network with our insurance does not provide coverage for that option. I have been going here for all my vision needs and always have a great experience with the doctors and a few of the staff! But the staff that checks you in can be a little rude. Whatever happens to greeting with a smile that's the first complaint second complaint I went into the office to have my vision then as I do every year or so, and their system was down I was told that I will get a phone call back so that I could purchase my glasses And I will be done well I heard nothing from anyone on Monday, which was the day. I visit them. Nothing yesterday and here we are on Wednesday and still no one has called me. I am very tempted to start taking my business somewhere else because this is ridiculous I have called and I have called and I have called and no one has answered their phone. Highly advise individuals to seek services for eyeglasses somewhere else where customer service does exist. First, I will say Courtney was very kind but my experience with this corporate run organization is one I would steer very far away from as customer service and providing good patient experience is not a priority. I initially placed my order for my eyeglasses in December 2024 and the location failed to contact me when the eyeglasses were ready. I went over 30 days with no communication from the location regarding a status update until I left messages and finally received a call from Courtney informing me they were ready for pick-up. Multiple red flags here: 1. At what point does the provider take responsibility to call a patient to inform them their glasses are ready? The excuse of a staffing shortages being the problem is unacceptable. You are in the business of healthcare, create an improvement plan and find time where individual/s are responsible for calling patients. 2. Understanding your poor or lack of response to calls is needed to understand the patient's perspective. Nothing has changed since bringing forth my concerns to your location manager and assistant manager in January 2025. Your management has been aware of the problem in January 2025, and upper management you apparently do not care to address the issue so don't respond with upper management would like to discuss the issue. It already has been shared, and you have done nothing. 3. Do Something to improve your lack of follow up calls and ACT on it. Fast forward, March 2025. I had to place an order for new glasses because the lenses when I did pick them up was too thick due to my prescription and the frames were too large for my face. Hence, my current situation. Now, I have been calling the location and much like others poor experience, the phone rings and rings and rings. I had to physically drive to the location today just like the last time to get an update on my eyeglasses. EyeMed called them today to three way and no surprise, straight to voicemail and were cut off. I have requested the claim be voided, a full refund so that the insurance may release my benefits. Never have I experienced such poor customer service where patient experience is low on their priority list. If you can not answer a phone much less return calls, you should not be providing any type of health-related service. Returning calls over 72 hours is unacceptable. I can overlook 24 hours but over 72 hours, UNACCEPTABLE and patients should file a formal grievance with their insurance provider. You offer no alternative contact methods and apparently rely solely on technology to communicate with patients. Use the PHONE!!!! This is customer service. There are so many issues that can go wrong with technology not to mention the assumption of health literacy in which you assume everyone can read text or read in general. Folks, do not seek services here if you hope to have any human contact with a person over the phone!!! It will be an EPIC failure. Go somewhere else, because that is what I have to do now. What a waste of time. People should not have to drive to your location to speak to a person. This is absurd. Managment do not respond with a blanketed response that upper management would like to address concerns. They were made aware of the issue and no solution. You have been emailed to provide me with an update on when you void the claim with EyeMed. Asking me to call your location is an insult. My experience has been that the staff is friendly helpful; HOWEVER, I am going to be Honest and Forthright... I am not impressed with the staff's knowledge; their products are overpriced and with little-to-no (30day) warranty. Ex. I was informed by a staff member that "glasses prescription cannot correct for astigmatism" (i have a minor astigmatism). I went to another Eye Clinic which was able to provide me with glasses for my proper prescription and correction for my astigmatism. Tried to go back and get some help with progressive lenses that the protection film started to wear off and left spots all over the lens only to find out there was no kind of warranty (which they said they offer at the time of purchase) I was never offered any kind of warranty whatsoever. I have worn glasses for quite some time and I have never had any issues with the lenses starting to lose the protection on the glass in the first year. And if I am 10 min late, it would be considered a "No Show" and I would have to reschedule in which again get charged a fee. This was not the best way to set the mood for an appointment. So I hit some traffic and was 12 min. late. That 2 min. past cut-off time apparently made it necessary for me to wait longer. Frustrated with having to wait to see the doctor. I may have taken it out on the staff via online reviews. I typically try to stay positive. Lea the new manager more than made up for my frustration with their 10 min cutoff for running late. I have to apologize for taking my frustration out on the staff via some earlier online reviews that were pretty negative. I'm sure they are all doing their best just like the rest of us on our jobs. Update as of January 2025: shame on me for giving this place another try. Now when you check in, they tell you that you can have your eyes dilated (I never had my eyes dilated here) for free (as insurance covers it) but it will take an extra 25-45 minutes or you can have the other option (that isn't covered) but now you have to pay an extra $40. To add 45 minutes onto your exam is insane, especially since they don't call you and let you know this ahead of time. I work full time, I have 4 kids, I don't have time for an extra 45 minutes and the extra charge isn't an awesome surprise either. This place was bought out years ago and has gone downhill. Google eye doctors here in Kyle, there are SO many other options. read more

Unfortunately this place is not what it used to be. You cannot reach them on their phone and they don't call back if you leave a voicemail. I purchased a pair of glasses from them and under a year they appeared scratched. I assure you I only used a microfiber cloth and proper cleaning solution on them. Have never dropped them and always stored in a case when I wasn't using them. Anyways, they thankfully did replace the lenses. Unfortunately, the same thing happened to the replacement lenses. Went back in to see what could be done and they said I'd have to pay for a new set of lenses. I have never had a pair of lenses last under a year. So whatever company they are getting them from isn't great. Not about to pay for a new set of lenses from them that will ultimately do the same thing in less than a year. I also purchased a pair of prescription sunglasses from them. To better protect my eyes only to find out they aren't even polarized. Why would I spend hundreds of dollars on a pair of prescription sunglasses and not have them polarized? I can't help but feel there is a mistake there. I went in there for an eye exam. I couldn't get fitted for the glasses. I had to go back to work. I told them I need to reschedule. Well 2 weeks go by and I tried calling multiple times to get an appointment so I could get fitted for the frames. Talking to a machine and no one answered every time I called. Left 3 messages no one called me back. So I go in and they couldn't do it until after 1 well I couldn't I was working so she said come back tomorrow so Saturday on my day off I go in and I'm waiting for 25 mins so I can get fitted for glasses. Which is no problem but as soon as he was done with the customer I went up to him and he said someone else had an appointment. I just got my script and went somewhere else. This was my first time dealing with vision source and it will probably be my last. First, it was a hassle just to get them to call me back to place an order on contacts. Upon my order request, I'm told that my insurance benefit has been used up (I knew it hadn't been). I call my insurance and turns out they billed them for the contact fitting when I paid them out of pocket for it... so I had to call them to get it straightened out because my insurance company couldn't get through to them. Just seems really sketchy to make a "mistake" like that. Also, this was all a waste of 20 minutes of my time due to their error. When I finally get to order my contacts, they don't offer "smart" alternatives to maximize my benefit. Instead I have to do the math for them... Would not recommend this place at all! read more

Super nice ladies working the front desk. Very knowledgeable professionals working here. They listen to your problems and try to find out exactly what you need. They ran some cool tests on my eyes and got to see some up close images of my eyes and blood vessels and stuff. Dr. Ruiz was excellent! She ran ALL KINDS of tests on my eyes. I found out I have a light astigmatism. She helped me with lenses that made my vision much sharper. Every other optometrist I called around Austin didn't sell Costa Del Mar sunglasses. But this place sells them. Shelby (like the mustang) helped set up my appointment SAME DAY. She helped me pick out custom frame, custom prescription lenses, and everything else. She's also super nice, professional, and personable. One thing I really liked is I never felt rushed. Very nice/clean building. Tons of options. I won't ever go anywhere else for my eyes UPDATE: So, Costa Del Mar took a little longer than expected to finish up my custom lenses. However, I firmly believe that great things take time. The office assistants also called me regularly to keep me updated and assured me Costa sometimes just takes a little longer than expected. I have been soooooo giddy to pick these things up. About a month after my consultation THEY WERE READY! Initially after trying on my new Costa's I was BLOWN AWAY. The color, the clearness, I just can't put it into words. Driving home I was in awe. Everything was so clear and colors are so enhanced. They significantly improved my vision and made focusing easier. I also feel like I have less strain on my eyes when wearing them. I've owned Costa sunglasses before and they were great but these are absolutely top notch. I called to ask why I got the wrong case and they said "we're just really low in stock of everything". I had been a client since 2018 and yesterday was the last time I will ever go there. I always had good experiences getting glasses form them in the past, but it might be the greed of the pandemic or that they need to pay for the new building. I always got sunglasses there at they would let me view them online to get the prices. I was not born yesterday and that is probably what they thought. I asked for the prices of 2 certain glasses, as I already knew the prices beforehand, and the little girl behind the desk had to play it off twice that her computer wasn't working and that she had to check a different computer. she never checked a different computer but was talking to another person and they advised her to charge more. Costa glasses were $185, and they told to charge me $285 and some Oakley glasses $184 and they wanted to charge me $284. I asked the girl why they were up charging the frames $100, and all she said is "that is the price" without even making eye contact. Never again read more

The actual eye doctor was amazing. He explained everything without talking down to you or making you feel dumb. He double checked everything and didn't rush us. My complaint is with everyone else. The receptionist wasn't very friendly to us or other people. The people that helped with the glasses were insanely pushy. I got contacts only, no glasses exam and they were trying to get me to buy glasses. What rx was I going to use?? I kept telling them no and they argued with me. Then they offered a warranty on my husband's glasses but didn't tell him it cost anything until he asked. Neither of us got a copy of our prescriptions and they never offered. I emailed them about it but never heard back, I had to go back in to get a copy. I wish the doctor had his own place, I'd go back to him in a heartbeat but won't be back because I don't like feeling like I'm at a car dealership when getting my eye a checked. read more

When we got there we were told they had to reschedule us because they did not have enough dr to see us. After bantering back and forth with the very unprofessional and rude receptionist we were offered that we could see a Dr but we would have to pay extra? We rescheduled. We regretfully came to our appointment and got our prescription and when we got our glasses a week later we could not see with the glasses they gave us. My husband called and stated we need to see a Dr as these glasses did not work and it appeared it was some other people's glasses. They scheduled us for Saturday at 9 am. we came in to our appointment to be told that they will have to reschedule us again for Monday as they don't have enough Dr. What is so sad is that the staff was very rude on top of it. I was a brand new client and the appointment went fine. It was everything after the fact that made want to leave a bad review. The doctor prescribed me contacts and told me that she would give me 9 days worth of trials (I got dailies). She only gave me 6 days worth for one eye and 9 days worth for the other. Then I called them the next day asking for an order of contacts which wouldn't show up for another 10 days (great! Don't even have enough trails to get me to the order date) she said that the cost was going to be 250.00 for the order. Then they called me 2 hours later saying that they had made a mistake and only charged me 150.00 saying that if I don't pay the rest that I wouldn't get my contacts. So I agreed and said okay, charge me the extra 100.00. Then I checked my account to find out that they double charged me. They charged my account 3 separate times! 1st time= $150.00 2nd time= $100.00 3rd time= the full $250.00 again I will not be coming back to this location! read more
