I am writing this review to warn others about a severe failure in patient safety and professional judgment at this clinic. Prior to a loved one's appointment, I contacted the office to inform them that the patient was experiencing severe depression and acute suicidal ideation. As the legal Power of Attorney, I explicitly requested that the clinical team handle this information discreetly for the patient's own safety. Instead, upon arrival, Dr. Shetty immediately informed the patient that I had called ahead. Despite being presented with clear evidence of an immediate mental health crisis, the clinic refused admission, failed to contact emergency services or law enforcement to initiate a wellness hold, and allowed a severely unstable individual to simply walk out the door. The lack of crisis intervention, complete disregard for actionable safety warnings, and failure to exercise a basic duty of care at this facility are deeply alarming. If you or a loved one are facing a critical mental health situation, I strongly advise looking elsewhere for competent, safe medical care. read more

It's too bad that Texas Tech has such a low rating. I had a wonderful experience so I thought I'd share it. I think it also depends on which department you're visiting/utilizing. I'm also going to share a bit about my issues as a woman. Let's just say I've gone to a few doctors for a polycystic ovary and endometriosis for about 10 or 11 years now. I have to say Dr. Son at Texas Tech is wonderful. I think I finally found a trustworthy and smart doctor after all of these years. She really wants to help me and isn't out to get money. She is really knowledgeable. Anyway... Two doctors I've gone to have recommended surgery so this has been done twice for me. However, Dr. Son feels like that should be a last resort. Where has she been all of my life? Dr. Son is a specialist for endometriosis and other women's issues. She's in Obstetrics/Gynecology. If you or someone you know has this, I'd suggest seeing her or another specialist at Texas Tech. They know a lot about it. Honestly, I prefer seeing a female doctor over a male. Yes, men go to school for many years and know a lot but women just seem to understand other women better. That's the best way I can explain it. Nothing against male doctors but I just feel more comfortable with female doctors nowadays. Texas Tech is super organized, too which I appreciated. They called me twice to remind me of my appointment. They also texted me to remind and send me the information to fill out rather than waiting until I got there. There was a bit of a wait but it was all worth it. Dr. Son is personable and has good bedside manners. That's sort of a rarity these days. I felt at ease talking to her about my issues. Texas Tech is a great place to go to for the uninsured and those who want to save money. They have clinics all over the city so you aren't limited to just their Alberta location. They also do virtual appointments. They offer a discount on co-pays and medication, along with other services. You have to apply for this discount by emailing them some forms. I also saw a couple of doctors from Texas Tech when I went to the ER about 2 months ago. They were also great! The cost wasn't outrageous either. I go to Texas Tech Medical Center for my daughter and myself. Her pediatrician is here Dr. Carmen Prieto and just recently (May 1st, 2018) I was being seen in the breast care clinic with Dr. Chambers who then referred me to Dr. Castro who both are in the same building. He had just provided me with a breast lift and reduction. He did a fantastic job! I was a 42 double ff and he reduced them to a 38 C! My back is no longer suffering in pain! My sciatic pain has eased and my lower back and hip pain are gone. My posture is improving more and more and I have Dr. Castro to thank! I've had back problems for 25 years and now I am relieved. Texas Tech has always provided me and my daughter with the best of care and has taken care of any issue or need. We go to Texas Tech for any doctor we need! read more

Internal Medicine. I've been waiting for 43 minutes for the RN to call me for my telephone consult. I called them at 915 and was told it'll be another 15 minutes since she's with a patient. 30 minutes later, I am still waiting. The lack of respect for the patient's time is incredible. It is ridiculous that the city is open and the father is not allowed in the ultra sound rooms! We can go out and eat but I can't be, go to the mall, go to the movies, and go shopping with other people, but I can't be there for my kids ultrasound (anatomy scan). Tell me what's wrong with this picture! read more

At the internal medicine department. Honestly can't get past how inefficient their front office staff is and then if you do get over that it's the doctors who continuously run two hours late for your scheduled appointment. I don't even care if they are the best at their profession who is being two hours behind ok? As a patient I value my time and shouldn't be made to wait two hours past my appointment because a doc doesn't even arrive until an hour past his first appointment. That just makes the rest of the patients be just as late if not more as the day progresses. read more

Naomi scheduled my appointment for internal medicine, I specifically asked her if it was in person or over the phone when I scheduled, she told me it was in person and what floor to go to when to arrive and what to bring. 15 minutes before my appointment (I was already walking up to go check in) the dr called and said it was actually a telephone appt. I was supposed to be a new patient. I spoke to the doctor, and a nurse and they couldn't even do anything for me over the phone and requested I schedule an in person appointment (which I was told I had already done). Next day, they charged me with a no show fee even though I had spoken to multiple people in the clinic at my visit time. When I called back, it was Naomi and she responded with snarky comments and denied it was her who gave me the misinformation to begin with. Unorganized office and some rude staff. I'm highly disappointed as this was where I was referred to go to continue treatment from a just as incompetent clinic. read more

Had to call and got told they couldn't verify my identity or something so what needed to go to the insurance still didn't go but no one has updated me on it. Delfina C This place is the worse! I made an appointment at 9:30am for my son and he was called in at 12pm....was taken to a room to wait some more. We waited for about 20 minutes and complained about it. The nurse told us the Dr had left for lunch... How rude is that specially since the dr herself was the one to leave him in the room!!! No consideration for their patients time! I'm seriously thinking about billing the dr for my time waisted!!! Will be asking my lawyer for advice on this one!!!! read more

I didn't even make it through the front doors. My daughter was referred here and within minutes of talking to the appointment line I was actually very un-impressed. I have worked in scheduling and medical billing and I would never catch an attitude with a patient or patients caregiver, the way I was. I repeated my info several times, gave date of birth for my daughter and her sponsor several times, and when I was asked for my info I had to spell our last name for the tenth time. She kept referring to my child as a boy, even after correcting her numerous times. The attitude with the scheduler was apparent, she wasn't even concentrating or focused, and the lady enjoyed enunciating "ma'am" as much as possible. I quickly was on the phone with our insurance getting a new referral. If you dislike your job so much, get a new one; with being the first encounter for a lot of patients you sure will give this place a bad reputation. read more
