I selected a couple in person classes and went to my first in person session excited to visit a studio that a couple of friends had recommended. First, the location is a bit odd, as I had been warned, but it's not nearly as difficult to find as people made it out to seem. Parking for my mid-day class was easy. I arrived about 10 minutes early and was greeted and given a tour of the studio, which is really charming and seemed to have all the amenities you might want. I love that they have a token system to indicate whether you're okay with being touched, storage spaces for your personal items, and a very calming light/curtain set up. The instructor and the class itself were fine! I've practiced yoga (mostly at home) for many years and was easily able to drop into the flow and pace of the class. I really love that the floor is cushioned and comfortable. It seems like there is a good range of class style options, but I did wish there were more options for classes (an early morning option would be ideal!) I also wish I had gotten a chance to take more classes in person, but I decided to take the remaining couple of classes that fit into my schedule virtually. After that first class, I overheard a complaint to the instructor about how their household was experiencing covid (?!?!?! I 100% realize this is not something a studio can control, but it made me feel uncomfortable that someone in such a seemingly health conscious, community-oriented, and small space would feel ok exposing people to potential risk like that.) Obviously I didn't get the same community feel in the livestreamed classes, but I did still feel somewhat included and able to communicate with the instructor, had I needed to. Big ups to O+L for offering virtual options for their classes to make them more accessible. It's still on my "to consider" list of studios to potentially join at the end of my search bc I appreciated the the convenient location, affordable cost of the trial + membership, body-neutral/positive approaches, and cozy space.

Honestly with the chilly weather right now it is SO PERFECT to do a hot yoga session and then walk outside in the cold right after! It's almost like a mini cold plunge (but not really because cold plunges are on an extreme level). I did my session with Kirk, who is a great yoga instructor! As mentioned before I'm a beginner, and still felt that his instructions were doable for all levels and were easy to understand. I was also surprised to see that the class was not stereotypically filled with women. Instead, there were many males present, which I feel like is not common in most yoga classes and it was cool to see. With Black Swan it is affordable which is nice. It is donation based so if you recently lost your job and still want a work out this place is affordable. The lowest donation is $10, I don't think you can find that kind of sliding scale easily at other studios. I will definitely be going here again and next time my husband said he is even interested in trying it out!

I was instantly drawn to their energy and insight of health and well being, but still did my homework and checked out a couple other places in my area that also taught Kung Fu. My son tried out a class elsewhere, but there was no competition after meeting Thomas. This was the place for us, we both agreed wholeheartedly. I think it is worth pointing out that Sifu Thomas used to be a middle school teacher. It shows immensely in his ability to reach kids and his patience. Mr Clark, another teacher of Kung Fu, is also exceptional. They both have an excellent balance of seriousness and fun, always understanding and kind. My son has now been taking Kung Fu for over a year and it has changed him in so many positive ways. He's more patient with his little sister, more respectful to everyone, and willing to help when asked, or sees the need himself. These are principles taught within the art of Kung Fu at Del Sol, not just a fighting style to take someone out. If money and time weren't an issue, I think our whole family would be taking it. ;) Del Sol has so many other things to offer as well. I observe the Crossfit classes, sometimes watching what they are doing, other times just over hearing the laughter. They make working out and working hard look fun. :) They also offer cooking classes and have immense knowledge in health and nutrition. I have yet to take a yoga class, but don't doubt it is awesome. They have created a perfect serene atmosphere in the back room for a meditative, sweaty, beautiful yoga practice. For someone wanting to be healthier in body, mind, and spirit, you really can't go wrong with Del Sol. We are proud to be a part of the blossoming Del Sol family.

Did a really good massage with my massage gun. Used some lavender, chamomile, and nettle leaf salve that i made to rub on my shoulder and neck. I SLEPT THROUGH THE ENTIRE NIGHT WITH NO PAIN. I walked in and Nina was at the front and I said "okay I think I talked to you on the phone." And she dismissed me, and I asked if I could order the chai, and she was very cold and short with me, and when she brand the chai out it was all watered down, with no milk and hardly tasted like chai at all. This was very personal for Nina to treat us this way because she wasn't happy that I requested a to go order and it was obvious by the way she acted towards me. I even asked how they made the chai, because I was a little skeptical of how watered down it was and how there was no milk. I got a short "oh it's just the same process as always." And then I asked "okay so where do you get the chai from?" And she said "it's just a tea ." Sarcastically. I was so looking forward to purchasing the chai from here this morning and Nina ruined that. I am never coming back and don't recommend anyone coming here if they care about quality or customer service or chai. Update : I asked to at-least be refunded the $13 I spent on the chai and Nina said "I'm going to put you on hold for a minute" and then 10 minutes later still nothing, the call dropped.
