With that being said, most of the food we had was at least very good. Given that the quality of food was so high, I believe it to be even more significant that this was our favorite restaurant of the trip! They are a small local restaurant, with chalkboard menus, and a little ways off the beaten path (not too far to discourage visiting!) The tapas and beer we had here was out of this world. Here are my recommendations, but take them with a grain of salt (literally, when it comes to pan con tomate), because they are seasonal, and the menu changes: 1) Get the pan con tomate. They show you how to make it, so it is ever so fresh! 2) Taste some of the local wines and craft beers 3) Listen to the waitresses recommendations... no matter the current menu 4) Try the pulpo! (Octopus) 5) Calamari 6) The seasonal (Fall) mushrooms were great 7) Patatas bravas were good, but not my favorite of the trip 8) Back to beer... Try the Black Coupage if you like dark beers, and they still have it. Delicious beer! They do a 9-course tasting menu for around €70, which felt like a total steal for that kind of experience. We were hoping for a fun, memorable final dinner and Suculent definitely delivered. One cool surprise right off the bat was that our table was in the back room, and to get there, we actually walked through the kitchen. It kind of felt like we were being let in on a secret. The space in the back was small and intimate, perfect for a group. The vibe was cozy but cool, not at all stuffy, and our server was honestly amazing. Super friendly, super knowledgeable, and really helped make the night special. We didn't go for the full wine pairing, but he still helped us pick a few bottles that paired perfectly with the different courses. It felt like he genuinely wanted us to have a great experience, and we definitely did.

The food arrived in good time, I understand paella can be time-consuming and difficult to make, so there was a little wait, but it was very reasonable. The paella was delicious, it was served in a huge black pan, the rice was cooked perfectly and had great flavours, and the meat was also tasty, with generous amounts of chicken and chorizo. The portion size as a whole was very good, I ordered it just for one, and it certainly would have been enough for two people to share if you were ordering some tapas dishes too. I also liked being able to just order one portion of paella for one person, back home in the UK and even elsewhere around Barcelona, there are often limits that 2/3 of diners must order it to make it worthwhile.
