I had the Vegetable Lo Mein, Braised Tofu, Mapo Tofu, Fried Rice and Spring Rolls. The Braised Tofu is not very flavorful, so I would avoid that. The Mapo Tofu is absolutely delicious and has that perfect peppercorn kick. It is spicy, so get a sweet drink on the side if you are not a fan of spice. Vegetable Lo Mein is a large quantity with lots of vegetables. Ask for some sauces on the side because it is bland on its own. On the other hand, the Fried Rice is yummy on its own or with the Mapo Tofu. Spring Rolls are a little oily to my liking but are a good vegetarian appetizer option. I will say that this place is always packed, even on weekdays and sometimes the wait staff forgets about you. It took several rounds to get them to take our order, give the food or even get the check at the end. I will try it out next time at lunch time because maybe it is a little faster. All 3 I tried were good, but all very different, and I'm glad I had a chance to try them! One thing to note is that it was fairly warm inside the business, which gave me a little pause considering it's a salad-focused concept. That said, everything tasted fresh and high quality. There were only two employees working during my visit on a Wednesday around 6:30, and with about 4-5 people ahead of me, it took around 20 minutes to place my order, get my bowl made, and check out. The staff was working hard, and being incredibly helpful, but if you're in a hurry, just plan accordingly. Overall, I'd definitely return. It's nice to have a quality salad option at Boxyard, the ingredients were fresh, the portions were generous, and the service was helpful and kind. The food was below average, and the customer service was rude. I ordered takeout and specifically requested that my order be well done. Instead of accommodating my request, the owner went on a rant about how all their food is well done and that they don't serve raw meat. When I arrived at the restaurant 40 minutes later, I was informed by the owner that they didn't have half of my order - the very dish he had been ranting about. He then tried to upsell me on more expensive dishes, pressuring me to choose something else from the menu. I witnessed the same tactic being used on a young woman a month ago. It's shocking that a restaurant would wait until the customer arrives to inform them that a significant portion of their order is unavailable. This behavior demonstrates a lack of honesty and integrity, and it seems driven by greed. Most restaurants would notify you immediately if an item is unavailable, giving you the chance to cancel or adjust your order. However, this owner waits until you arrive, pressuring you to choose something else on the spot. If I had been informed earlier, I would have ordered from another Thai restaurant that could fulfill my order. This approach shows a complete disregard for the customer's time and money. After experiencing this myself, I will never order from or patronize Thai 55 again. These tactics are dishonest and greedy, and I cannot support a business that operates this way. read more

Their website is easy to use for takeout orders. My favorite dishes are the Boneless Spare Ribs (sweet, savory, and very saucy just how I like them), Beef with Broccoli (delicious classic), Kung Pao Chicken (perfectly spicy and nutty), Hunan Chicken (perfectly spicy), and Bean Curd Home Style (perfectly spicy tofu dish). My husband loves their General Tso's Chicken (sweet and spicy crispy chicken) and Mongolian Beef (savory with tons of onions). The only thing I don't really like is their egg rolls, so I tend to avoid ordering the combo specials. I wish they were open on Monday!

I really enjoy the food here and the restaurant and service is usually pretty good. The thing that makes this a four star review is the consistency . Usually when we eat in the food is quick and excellent. Recently though, when taking out, the food was not as good as previous take out experiences. It was still tasty but some of the dishes were not as tender, under or over salted, and the sauce was super thick and gloppy. That said, I ordered takeout from Dragon Inn this weekend, in particular the sesame chicken. The frozen chicken strips flavor could not be hidden despite the sesame brown sauce! I realize chicken is expensive these days, but this is inexcusable from a restaurant, it's not even trying. I will NEVER order from them again, and would encourage others to avoid this restaurant. Truly unbelievable. I'm still amazed at the audacity to serve highly processed frozen chicken strips masquerading as a homemade dish. Yuck.
