From the outside looking in, Fang's Kitchen seems like another standard Chinese takeout spot, and for many it is their local spot. However when you inspect closer, you realize that there is more to it than just your classic sesame chicken. What drew me to Fang's Kitchen was another reviewer's high praise of their salt and pepper shrimp, as well as the various Szechuan dishes that were available. Let me just say, that other reviewer was onto something with the salt and pepper shrimp, it is easily my favorite item on the menu! When you have a chance to get it fresh, it is crispy, extra salty, and just so delicious! For those who want traditional options, Fang's has a section of their menu where they have quite a bit of these to choose from, something the average take-out won't have. When I first visited, the fish in Szechuan sauce was calling my name. The flavors were bold, my mouth was numbed, just the way I liked it. I thought it was a fantastic dish, with plenty of leftovers available to me! While Fang's Kitchen has some major hits, there are also items that I think are prepared better at other establishments. Their dry pot fish has a similar flavor profile to the fish in Szechuan sauce, but was definitely not as good as the latter. The dish itself was not dry enough so the fish did not retain its crispness. The vegetables also didn't seem to be at its highest quality, especially the lotus root. Additionally, their green beans were heavily doused in sauce so they too did not retain and form of texture. It tasted fine, but I prefer both of these dishes at other spots. Fang's Kitchen is a bit out of the way for me so I can't go as far to say this is my go-to spot. However, they do some really great things here and have a lot of diversity. I think folks looking to get the classic take out items or the traditional ones will find something to enjoy here, Fang's is really an all of the above kind of spot! read more

I was so hungry when my spouse got home with the food I forgot to take pictures!! She got the pork egg foo young. At first she was so-so on it, but then the more she ate it, the more she liked it!! She said it needed a little more sauce so next time she'd ask for a bit extra. Otherwise, it's a yes! She got the three patty size so she'd have leftovers. I got the House Special lo mein as a combination dinner and it comes with an egg roll and pork fried rice or white rice. The lo mein has beef, chicken, and shrimp in it. This is more a takeout spot, and ordering is easy if you already know what you want because the menu is long long. So many options that it feels like a small commitment to read I tried to order on phone but could not understand all combinations and choices so drove since we live close .. in person ordered a combo of orange chicken (all white meat) with white rice and a veggie spring roll, plus a vegetarian curry with white rice. With tip, it came to $27, which felt a bit steep for takeout Chinese. Orange chicken was ok and I was also fine with vegetables though felt it was a little blend though Menu said it was 'hot' It was one of those days when we wanted something different but absolutely did not want to sit anywhere except our own couch. For moments like that, the convenience makes it worth a return because place is close to where I live. I also want to try Indo Chinese tofu which is not available anywhere else so I guess that will also bring me back Otherwise, for the same price and little more, I could happily be eating a Mediterranean food and feeling slightly more virtuous about it. I did less research for this Chinese takeout than I do for most of what I eat. It is a small place but does have a couple of tables if you needed to eat in. The shopping center is nice and new, so it doesn't have the tired vibe that some of these sorts of places do. And crucially for me, they had a robust vegetarian menu. The Indo-Chinese chili tofu I got was impressive. The option was given for brown rice at no extra charge, which I elected. The takeout container was packed to the brim with actual tofu and a smattering of flavorful peppers and onions. I enjoyed the chili sauce. I've been here a few times since my last review, and unfortunately I'm going to lower my initial rating by 1 star. The thing is, the General Tso's chicken has been delicious every time, but I've also tried a couple of other items (the pepper steak as well as the chicken and broccoli) and the proteins were both a little gross. The steak was chewy and the chicken was a bit slimy. So I guess I would describe Fang's as hit-or-miss, with some delicious dishes and some other ones that are not so tasty. read more

Was pleased that they had an authentic menu so decided to give it a try. Service was quick & friendly. Food - Honestly I was disappointed with the food overall. The sautéed green beans were very flavorful with the highly desired essence from high heat cooking. The sautéed vermicelli and the ma po tofu...2 of our favorite dishes...were seriously lacking in flavor. They both had the required spiciness but lacked the umami flavor of the fermented bean paste that is essential to these dishes. Where is the ground pork that is essential in this traditional vermicelli dish?!?! The moo shu pork was interesting in that Cha siu pork was used instead of regular pork. Was craving Chinese food after a long day of moving and Fangs popped up. Fangs is a small and new locally owned restaurant next to Lowes grocery store. Upon walking in I was warmly greeted by the lady behind the counter that was masked up and had a barrier between us. Both of these plus my mask made ordering difficult, but she was nice and patient so it all worked out. They were super busy as it was Saturday night, so it took about 20 minutes for me to get my food. This was so worth it as the food was so delicious and fresh! I opened the box up and got an amazing aroma of garlic, pepper, and chicken. Wow! I almost did not make it back home without opening the box and digging in, but I did! I was starving so I did not leave much for leftovers, but that just means I have to go back, right? I was in the mood for some Chinese and was in the area of Fang's. I ordered the Szechuan Chicken and an egg roll. The wait was fairly short and pickup was easy. Upon unpacking the entree, there was lots of steam and I was eager to try it. The chicken was nicely prepared and the flavor was bold as it should be. Every bite was as good as the first. The egg roll was nicely flavored and contained lots of flavorful shrimp. All in all, the meal was exactly what I wanted. Kudos to Fang's for a pleasant experience! read more

First, and unfortunately last, time trying Fangs. I got standard kung pao chicken. The only taste it had was salt. Could have been the worst kung pao I've ever had. Fantastic. Easily the best Chinese place in a five mile radius. I went here for Christmas and New Years. The food is clean. There is a tendency for a lot of Chinese places to cook quickly with a lot of oil, this food is low oil. They send out an email when the order is ready which is ADHD friendly. The only negative I have is -- Fang's has Thai on the Menu, I tried the Chicken Curry and found it lacking, but I can forgive that, it isn't their specialty. read more

Fangs is now the best I've tried around here. Their prices are reasonable, the customer service over the phone was great and easy to order, the food is really good, and their portions are great! Found my new take out joint close to my house. I usually don't give many Chinese take out places 5 stars but this place deserves it. I also don't find many take out spots that do beef ho fun justice and have the wok hei that I love. Finally, finally, I have found one that's so close to my home. Apart from normal take out food, they also have a good variety of authentic Sichuan style dishes which is a bonus. We ordered: Beef ho fun - 10.99 Fish fillet in szechuan sauce - 10.99 Mapo tofu w/ minced pork - 10.99 Dry pot spicy chicken - 12.99 All of the food was delicious. I really liked how they did the Mapo tofu and I especially loved their beef ho fun which you probably are already well aware. It's my second time ordering it and both times were absolutely flawless. Prices are also very affordable and the quantity provided gives you bang for your buck. Customer service was awesome as well. We had opted to dine in. The front counter lady constantly kept checking up on us to make sure food was good and if we needed anything. She even saw we hadn't ordered drinks and took the liberty to ask if we wanted cups of ice water to which we appreciated and took upon her offer. No doubt about it, I will be back again for more! Hidden Gem, the pinnacle of Chinese takeout in this area (get the general tso and Mongolian beef). Prices are amazing, especially the dinner combo, and the lady at the front is very kind. The food is just ok. My issue is with the service. They forgot a dish in my take out order for my family yesterday. I had to drive an extra 15 minutes, while the rest of it was getting cold at home, to go pick it up. They compensated me with one egg roll, which I could not fit into my gas tank, of course! I did them the courtesy of not making a scene about that in the restaurant, and called them to ask for a credit. They said I had to come back in to get it. Beware of ordering here. They lied to us this past weekend insisting they did not receive our online order through their website. I had confirmation emails, texts and a pending charge on my credit to prove our order went through. They refused to offer to make things right and insisted we would not be charged. When I called to state our card was still charged, they hung up on us, refusing to discuss a solution for a refund. We had eaten here many times with no issues - I don't understand the sudden mismanagement of this business and disregard for customer service. I reallly reallllly wanted to love this place. We've been looking for a replacement for our beloved Flavors Kitchen in Morrisville that closed. Pros: - Food was hot - Order was accurate - Order was ready on time - Prices are fair - Generous with the sauces - Good inspection rating and seemed clean - Good size portions - Egg drop soup was decent - Egg roll was decent Cons: - Crab rangoons are in a flat, empanada-type shape which totally cuts down on the crispy quality that makes them great. Also minimal "crab" in them. - chicken fried rice was very much lacking in flavor. Improved with excessive amounts of soy sauce added. Also didn't have any egg in it which is weird to me, that's usually a given. And most importantly, the chicken fried rice wasn't fried... it was all steamed and the chicken was white and pale. I think this contributed to the lack of flavor. I might fry the leftovers in a pan tomorrow with more soy sauce. I wouldn't get it again, which is sad because it's my go to comfort dish. - the crispy noodles for soup topping were packaged rather than fresh and that's just a bummer - No fortune cookies included! :( It'll do, and I think the problems could be pretty easily corrected, taking this place to 4-5/5. Was excited to try for lunch for first time. For a new place inside was dirty in some areas especially floor. Fast friendly service. Also curious as to what style each Chinese restaurant serves. Got General Tso's and it had an orange sauce almost seemed like a Texas Pete style hot sauce. We ordered a few meals and the quality seemed sound and flavor was decent. I like spicy so I'll ask for it to be more spicy next time. The honey chicken dinner needed broccoli to round it out. The pad Thai had a heavy fish sauce taste so ask them to go light if you don't prefer it that way. Egg rolls could have been better but were decent.
