They have lunch specials for a set price where you get an entree, app, and drink for $18.95 that the let us mix and match. The food was some of the best Thai I've had in a while. The spice level of medium was actually mid level spice, the foot was hot, and overall the flavor was perfection. Our server was attentive and helpful as well. Extensive, several page, menu with lots of good choices on it. My friend and I had the Thai-Am trio (some times, I just need a little fried stuff ;-) ). The drumettes and the krab rangoon were excellent. The spring roll filling was soggy with little flavor. But our main dishes were outstanding! I had Panang curry with shrimp, scallops, and squid. Lovely, fresh seafood all properly cooked in a flavorful, perfectly seasoned curry. I'm a spicy heat wimp, but I enjoy just a hint of warmth to remind me I'm eating Thai. The "mild" curry was just right. (When I ask for mild, I'm often served something so mild it's negative 2 on the heat scale.) My friend felt the same about her Pork with Basil leaves. Was craving Thai food so decided to check this place out. They open at 5:30pm for dinner. We were seated immediately. I ordered the Krab Rangoon and the dumplings steamed. The Krab Rangoon was very good. The dumplings were okay to me. It is filled with pork, shrimp, mushrooms, and onions. It is topped with fried garlic and served with their special soy sauce. My date suggested Thai AM as our restaurant the other week. For all Thai places that I try for the first time, I will always order the pad Thai as a staple. If they can't do that right, I will never come back. They did a fantastic job, and the portions were decently sized. I was impressed with the service as they had one girl running all of the tables. The place filled up pretty quickly, and she did a great job. We ordered the Somtum (papaya salad), chicken pad Thai, and salmon Thai style with Thai chili sauce. Every dish was flavorful, saucy, and leaving us wanting more. :) Servers were also very attentive and friendly despite it being a busy random Tuesday night. The interior is definitely very cozy and I appreciated that the walls had the different Thai dishes on it so you can get an idea of what it looks like. My wife and I know this restaurant well. I personally knew the original owners and went there for several years. About 10-12 years ago the quality seemed to slip and we stopped going. Based upon reviews,we decided to give it another try. We went on a weeknight around 5:45 and it got very busy. There seemed to be only two servers and ours was very rushed and not that attentive. The wine list is limited- all Woodbridge- very generic. There was only one beer- Thai- Singha which I like. The vegetarian fresh rolls were ok but tasted like they were from the refrigerator and cut and served. The peanut sauce was ok but needed more punch. The steamed potstickers were likewise ok and I wish the dipping sauces had more spice. My wife ordered sweet and sour beef. The beef and vegetables were good. The sauce again was somewhat bland. The beef was very well prepared and cooked. I ordered my old standby of chicken on fire. The vegetables and sauce were good but sadly the chicken was tough and difficult to chew. We were not given any knives and I should have asked, but did not want to wait longer to eat as busy as they were. We ordered the mango and sweet coconut rice dessert and it was very good. We might go back another time but I was not overly impressed. There seems to be too little help and lack of attention to flavors which is unusual for Thai cuisine. Omg yumzo! I've been on the hunt for some really good and authentic Thai food and I think I have finally found the spot! Well decorated well lit interior with plenty of seating, ambiance is perfect for solo, friends, or a casual date. Parking can be tough, but they have a lot in the front with some spots. For the food, they definitely make it with Thai spices so order cautiously I ended up ordering a pad thai, Tom yum soup, and thai iced tea. They were all really really tasty. The pad thai was a little more sweet than I am used to, but I might make it a little more spicy next time. On the other hand, the Tom Yum was a little too spicy for me, but that's because I ordered it hot. Nevertheless, everything was really delicious and I really loved my leftovers. The Thai iced tea was freaking delicious and I'm definitely gonna order it again next time! They are good about making vegetarian substitutions. The service was very fast too. We decided not to write a review before visiting the Restaurant a second time to make sure it was that good consistently...well, They did not Disappoint. We got there at 5.10 to DIne in and there were only two tables left. We had the same server Linda who is VERY knowledgeable on the Menu and will always check on you. Also, this is a Thai Restaurant with a reasonable Corkage fee. We had visited the other Thai Restaurant up the street moments before (just wrote a review on them before this one) and their Corkage fee was crazy. we left there and went directly to Thai Am. We have finally found our Spot to get our Thai Fix! The Food is Tasty, and comes out quickly even while being very busy. Their noodles are perfect, Pad Thai and Pad See-yew are some of the best we have had in St. Pete's. Also their Fried Rice is AWESOMMMMEEE! We ask for extra Egg and we get it.
