During my visit, it was clear that basic standards of cleanliness, professionalism, and management were not being met. A cook was eating and using her cell phone while preparing food, and fruit flies were present throughout the restaurant--an obvious sign of poor sanitation and inadequate food safety practices. Service suffered because our server was forced to juggle multiple roles at once, including bartender, server, and bar back. They were doing everything they could, but the staffing situation made it impossible for them to succeed. Meanwhile, the manager spent most of the time on their phone, offered almost no support to the team, and even stepped outside to continue using their phone while the staff struggled inside. At one point, another cook disappeared into the restroom for nearly ten minutes, leaving no one actively preparing food until he returned. The restaurant felt dirty, disorganized, and poorly maintained, and the food reflected that. Given the fruit flies and overall lack of cleanliness, I genuinely question when the last EcoSure inspection took place. These issues aren't minor--they point to serious failures in management, staffing, sanitation, and food safety. Because of how concerning this experience was, I hope the owners will personally review what is happening in their establishment. I really want to rate this place at 2.5 stars. This place is probably best suited for vegetarians, as they make you add a protein (up charge) to the majority of their dishes on the menu. I had the Massamam Curry with added chicken. The dish was basically a bowl of onions and some potatoes with a few cashew nuts. The added chicken was a few shavings of chicken meat, almost non existent. I ordered it "medium spicy " and it lacked flavor. In this shopping plaza you will never have trouble finding a parking spot so no need to come early. The establishment is tucked away towards the back of the plaza so you may have to make a few circles around the roundabouts to spot the sign. Took my family here for a nice evening dinner and upon walking in there was no one to be seen at the reception desk. Waited a few minutes until a young blonde lady greeted us unenthusiastically but still managed to swiftly guide us to a booth table. From there a very hospitable waitress came and introduced herself and took our order. Out came the drinks, then the appetizer shortly after, followed by the main entrées with an agreeable cadence. The service was top-notch from this point on with follow up inquiries and asking for our comments on how the food was. All of our requests were taken care of promptly and there were no mix-ups the waitress was a pro and it shows! The drunken noodles were prepared decently and were not overly sweet which was to my liking. However, it did seem a little greasy perhaps due to the choice of protein which was beef. Most of the pieces of beef were very soft and tender but there were a few in there that were on the chewier side. They do not mess around with spice level 5 you have been warned. Was expecting to see egg in this dish as well but was not a noticeable ingredient. The calamari was interesting. Going for a more flaky approach with their batter which resembled fried wonton-panko consistency which paired well with their sweet sour chili dipping sauce. As for the freshness of the squid itself i have a suspicion that it may have been frozen at some point due to how dry and easily it ripped apart. The pad thai was good! Glad the peanuts were put off to the side giving us more control over the crunch factor. It was everything you would expect of a pad Thai. The pineapple fried rice was a disappointment. There was too much moisture in the "fried" rice and made the texture too mushy to enjoy when what I was expecting was a more drier fluffy texture. The taste was a bit bland and would overall not recommend ordering this dish. It was a pleasant experience but was not overly impressed. Their specialty dishes are on the pricer side and have no business being that expensive for what you get judging by the pineapple fried rice. Will update this review upon more visits. read more

Food showed up 1 hr and 15mins after being sat. I asked about checking on it, not sure it ever would have come or was fired. But food was pouring out for a not busy restaurant (again we were sitting at the server station). All that said, our food was tasty. Duck special, money pockets, Tom Yum soup, green curry. The curry was so small and there were literally five or six pieces of sliced green pepper and a few slivers of red pepper floating in the watery curry. The 'carrots' were less than a tablespoon of tiny cubes of carrot. More like a soup than a vegetable dish. The only other thing was two cold cherry tomatoes in the 'soup', not even warmed through. Certainly not worth $23! Protein (shrimp, chicken or tofu) was another $4! It did come with basmati rice but I don't usually eat white rice. Really poor presentation. Went on a Monday for dinner around 530. There were about four parties there. The full bar and bar seating gives the place a nice pub feel but with a lot of random Thailand accessories scattered around (elephants etc.). It's not really coherent but comfortable to me mostly because it's like a Irish bar (with elephants). Food was pretty average to below average as was the service. Pad Thai really had little flavor. Summer rolls are usually served with a peanut sauce but it tasted like peanut butter right out of the jar. No question it was creamy from the jar. The haddock was basically fish and chips (no chips) and was good. Just fried fish. Maybe they should go pub. Service was below average. Really seemed like a bunch of kids having fun which is fine for them as they were mostly hanging out at the bar and socializing. Didn't seem to be an adult around. We wanted to take our time and enjoy date night but our server - who was extremely polite - didn't give us more than a minute after receiving our appetizer to order our entrees - which, when ordered, arrived in what seemed like within seconds. First off the good: tofu summer rolls with the peanut sauce as an appetizer. The decent: thai cauliflower wings. My recommendation though, cut the cauliflower pieces smaller so that it's cooked evenly. The bad: serving a person who's dietary is vegan a non vegan dish when it was asked to specifically be prepared as vegan. Pretty disappointing and pretty bad mistake as this place has on their menu "vegan and gluten free upon request" listed. A new dish was prepared in a timely manner..server was startled and apologetic. I also will say, pad thai was okay, but one of the greasiest pad thai's I've had. Also, I felt like our server was a bit unfamiliar with the menu as the party I was with had questions regarding the differences in noodles such as vermicelli, and it had seemed as the server wasn't so familiar with the differences, menu, or cuisine. Maybe a little more training as well wouldn't hurt... Reservations are recommended for the weekend as this place was noted to be busy. read more

We sat on the patio which was very nice but service was a little slow (out of sight...). We shared some fried spring rolls which were good. Wife's Pad Thai (her go-to dish) may be the best we've ever had. Flavorful, not too sweet, fresh and just really satisfying. I had the papaya salad add shrimp. I asked for medium spice and I think they left that off. Almost no flavor to the green papaya. The string beans, tomatoes and other ingredients were satisfying. Drinks were generous pours. Not worth it - save your money for Kome across the parking lot. The food and the service are both way better. Ate here tonight with my family. Our server, Ava, was in way over her head. She was taking orders of tables completely out of order from the order they sat down. When I tried to grab her to put in our order, she said she had to put down menus and get a drink before she could come back. She then proceeded to take and put in an order of a table that arrived after us. The appetizers were good (only redeeming portion of the evening). After waiting a long time for our food, I grabbed a food runner to ask if she could check on my daughter's food (she's a kid and doesn't have a lot of patience). The food runner said it would just be a few more minutes for the kid's meal. 10 minutes later (and no food), I asked our server to check on the food, she said that all the food would be put together as soon as possible but she couldn't help get my daughter's food an sooner. After about 45 minutes, we finally got our food. My husband and I were sharing two dishes and needed share plates. We asked our waitress for the plates and she said she would be right back with them. After I watched her bring a check to the table next to us and go take another table's order, I literally had to go inside and get plates myself so that we could eat our food. The vegetables were super hard (the broccoli especially was inedible). Despite communicating these complaints to the server, she never did anything to fix the issue or ask if she could get us anything else or cook the vegetables longer - nothing. She came back (our meals totally untouched) and asked if we wanted boxes for our food. Ummm no, we don't. We asked to speak to a manager and that was the worst part of the entire evening. When a customer tells you about their negative experience, please do not explain why the vegetables were cooked properly or how backed up the kitchen was because of takeout orders. Apologize and do whatever you can to make the customer happy. Avery, the manager, needs some training in customer service and hospitality. If she would have handled the situation properly, we would have written tonight off as a restaurant having a busy night and being understaffed and given them another try. I can overlook a bad night. Came here for lunch. Nice variety on the menu and drinks. Some good options for vegetarians too. The venue has a good amount of space, also has outdoor seating. Started with the Pork Belly Satay and Thai Money Bags. The pork belly wasn't bad. I think it could have used a bit more seasoning to be honest and our particular cut was mostly fat. I probably wouldn't get this again. The money bags were nice. Super crispy, the filling inside was flavorful though my particular palate would have appreciated a bit more heat. Entree was the Shrimp, Scallops, Crab Pad Thai. I think with most asian restaurants, they use frozen sea food... which is what I expected to be honest. White Orchid is located in the fairly high-end Promenade Shops in the Lehigh Valley and has an upscale atmosphere to match. The food is delicious, and the service is friendly and attentive. Portions are just right. I've been many times before and will undoubtedly be back soon. I usually go for lunch and have the tom yum soup plus any of the entrees. A favorite appetizer when there are a few of us is the Traditional Thai Money Bags appetizer. read more
