Ordered the Thai Fried Rice, Chicken Pad Thai, and Red Curry all with no spice! The Red Curry was spicy to me not sure if they forgot to not spice or if it's just spicy to me. The reviews had me scared but being deprived of good Thai food has me order three things lol. I ordered all of these during lunch 11am-3pm so they were $10 each! Also why have a $10 pho special on Tuesdays!!! I haven't tried the Livonia location but the Novi location was nice! Inside was clean and even tho I ordered the food for carry out they allowed me to sit down with my child and take a few quick bites! Very nice staff! Last thought: the Curry doesn't look appealing because the veggies look soggy and I didn't try the veggies yet...however I can say I wish they put more curry sauce in the container . And Pad Thai looks scary because everything is the same color or similar color but there's this sweet hint in the sauce that makes it delicious! Could also use more sauce but definitely delicious and my food was HOT when I got it! Nice and fresh!

Worked out next door at anytime fitness so my buddy and I popped in for lunch. The restaurant is nice. The server got weird when I checked in and it gave me 10% off. The Tom kha was good a little sweet and a hint of fish sauce but good overall. Definitely not the best I've had. This place seems to have an identity problem, is it Thai, Chinese, Japanese?! The sushi was the star for me. I added salmon and could barely tell there was any on the roll. The veggie delight was weird swimming in a gravy sauce that was salty and not good. I'd say stick to the sushi. My buddy said his was not that great either. I wouldn't go back honestly.

I odered crab ragoons and Thai fried rice w chicken. The ragoons have no crab and is all CC. The rice has 10 peas and carrots and hardly any chicken. For $30 you'd think the meal would be good but it's shit. I called to complain and surprise surprise no manager on duty. The lady who picked up the phone said that I don't see the crab because is minced. I don't see or taste any crab! She only said sorry and didn't even offer to remake my food. The rice is still practically white! I'll never eat here again nor will I ever recommend this place to anyone!!! Also, there was no condiments or plastic ware..smh

Changed their menu to be all "bowls". Wonton soup that I loved is ruined and the menu choices have suffered. The staff are still great but without the food service really don't help. The egg drop was occasionally available but now I don't even know.

It surprises me to see some poor feedback here, but we have been regulars at this restaurant and the service has always been outstanding. I've known the staff for a long time, particularly the young lady and young man who work there, and I've seen how kind they are to each customer, and they are usually beautiful in my experience. I am sad that they are not serving hot and sour anymore which is one of my favorites but the food is always great as usual. I tried Bang Bang shrimp to start and it tasted good. Try either veg curry ramen or pineapple curry ramen and it is good with egg noodles.

Called here on a Saturday of July 4th weekend as I was having a Thai craving and some of my normal go to places were closed for the holiday. The woman who took my order on the phone was very pleasant and confirmed my order and had it ready a little before promise time which I appreciated! I did carry out but there is a good amount of seating inside if you want to dine in. The red curry with eggplant, the drunken noodles and the pad Thai and fried rice were all delicious! The curry especially was amazing! I highly recommend trying this place if you are nearby.

The food is good and the restaurant is presentable, clean lines and has plenty of space. There is something about this location that I just don't find quite as satisfying as the Livonia location. I think a part of it is the service. Although, our particular server was friendly enough, we had to wait and ask for refills and there was a mediocre level of attentiveness. There were a group of wait staff sitting at another table talking and laughing, they were the loudest people in the restaurant. We actually had to stand up and ask for some service and interior their boisterous conversation. Also, I was there for an early dinner and they didn't serve their usual soup prior to the meal, although, I did order dinner. I think I will end up here again because of the location, but so prefer the Livonia location and would drive a bit to go to that one.

Update in 2021: I don't know if they change cook or something, food is loaded with msg. I have to chuck 3 glasses of water after I finish my pad thai to clinch my thirst.

I used to frequent the Thai Basil in Livonia and decided to give this one a try. Very disappointed. I asked many questions about my order, making sure everything was vegetarian. Then the waitress brings me a complimentary soup of the day. I said I don't think that's vegetarian and she insisted it was, that it only had egg. I asked another staff member who then checked with the kitchen, and yep it has chicken. This is very frustrating as a customer. I expect staff should know what's in the food. This would have made me very sick. I had pad thai, it was ok, it wasn't as good as what I used to get in Livonia. Didn't care for the spring roll either. Another small but annoying thing, I was seated near the "bar" where it looks like all the staff hang their coats. Someone's cell phone was dinging every few minutes.

I had been wanting to try out Thai Basil for a while, and I'm SO glad I finally did! Everything from the cleanliness of the restaurant to the service, decor and food was perfect! We had a really friendly server and the Curry Pad Thai was perfection. I will definitely be back! read more

Pleasantly surprised. Nice interior, clean, and open. Playing oddly American music like you'd hear on Top 20 radio. Not bad or annoying or anything, but it made me worried that this was going to be an overly Americanized sushi restaurant. We ordered the tempura wheel appetizer, a pickled radish roll, cucumber roll and avocado roll (so our 2 year old could try something), a yellow tail roll, and the snow crab roll. All the vegetable rolls were fresh and the radish and cucumber ones had a nice crunch. The crab roll was wonderful - meaty, and still warm. The rolls weren't overly rice like a lot of other places, and the rice was perfectly cooked. I think the most expensive roll was the $16 Las Vegas roll. The snow crab roll I got was $11, and the veggie ones were $3. We didn't care for the tempura appetizer, though. The wheels were overly onion tasting, and a little greasy. But there are a ton of other menu items we want to come back to try. I would place this up there with Noble for best sushi I've had, and the very reasonable prices especially for a Novi restaurant will be sure to bring me back. Oh, and service was friendly and prompt - my water glass was filled 4 times while we were there! read more

Oops, Today was surprising and disappointing! I have eaten here many times in the last few years. But, today, things were off... We stopped by after running errands on the first snowy day of the season .. looking froward to a warm Thai treat .. I ordered my perennial fav .. the Panang Curry, chicken, mild (I usually get medium, but remembered that this place is usually a little hotter than most.). The spice level was wayy beyond !!! It was definitely at the hot level ... or beyond! I could hardly tolerate the first bite! I used to eat hot 20 years ago, but not now. When I complained, the waitress said, "That's our mild." Really?! I've had this many times, never this hot from here. Her only solution was to order something else. I might have, but my wife was complaining about the Vegetable Curry ... the chicken was some bland, rubbery, boiled chicken .. not flavorful at all. I agreed with her. Bottom line, we left The chicken rice soup was good. I can't explain the rest. It'll be a while before we think about this place .. it's nearby, but there are so many good places to choose from, why bother. read more

Thai basil is fantastic!!! I have ordered from here before, but it was quite a while ago. Traveling into Wixom, this place is great for delivery. They are FAST. My food arrived hot, fresh, and such simple, classic flavors. Tons of meat in there, and the portions are large enough to have later on. Very nice on the phone, and accommodating to your preferences. Big fan of Thai Basil, right here. read more

We ordered 2 soups and 2 main dishes (chicken fried rice and Panang curry). We were asked what spice level we wanted and specified mild/medium. It arrived and was extremely spicy which means it was overly spicy because I enjoy spicy food but this was unbearable! and if this was "mild" I would hate to think what the "hot" would be. The service was just ok...not sure if I would return. Prices were about what is expected. Environment was nice. read more

Picked up a chicken fried rice one evening because it's about the only Thai food I eat so I probably shouldn't comment much on anything else besides that. Honestly it was not the greatest but was also not terrible. I hope to make it back to try other things but one thing I noticed is the place was empty so that's never a good sign. read more

Great pad thai, even better sushi! The Mexican roll was amazing! The pad thai was really good. Staff was friendly and the place is beautiful. Ginger salad was good and a very generous amount was given. Food was brought out really quick. Would definitely go back! read more

Food here is great. I recommend carry out the service can be a little slow. The spice levels are accurate. Medium is pretty spicy compared to some other Thai places where medium feels like mild. Very clean inside. read more

I ordered the pad cashew and 2 spring rolls...the takeout container was barely even half full. It wasn't even enough for two people to share. And to top it off it wasn't even that great, nothing close to real Thai food. Total came to $17 and change! Do yourself a favor and go to Siam Spicy in Novi. Won't return again. read more

I wanted to try this out because the reviews seemed good. But it lacked flavor and personality. Friendly staff, however my waiter did not know how to answer any of my questions. And walking in I thought it was an authentic Thai and sushi restaurant. Definitely not - I asked for hand roll and it seemed they've never made one before. read more

Love the Curry Pad Thai, Pineapple Curry, Panang Curry, and Pad Cashew. Place is pretty nice inside. I usually do carryout, but did eat in once. Their Chicken Satay is wonderful, as is their fried rice. I had one occasion where the curry pad thai was not seasoned and really boring, but I'm hoping that is only one bad day and not a trend. It has always been consistent in the past so hopefully this was a one time thing. read more

Came here on a Wednesday at lunch. I ordered my usual Pad Khing with chicken and a spring roll. The spring roll was pretty good, but I felt my Pad Khing chicken was dry. I ordered it as a carry out and the lunch special which included the spring roll and soup. Normally, the sauce makes the chicken moist, but that was not the case. The portion was very small and I felt I got more rice than the Pad Khing. The flavor of the sauce was fine, but nothing to make me want to come back. I thought the interior of the location was very inviting and nice. I really wanted to like it, but it was just ok. read more

Yummy pad Thai and drunken noodles! I like that the peanuts on the pad Thai are sweet and roasted, so yummy. Be careful with the spice levels, though. We ordered "mild" but the dishes were pretty damn spicy. I happened to like it, but if you're sensitive to spice- beware! I got carry out but I would come back to dine in some time. read more

Wish their delivery was a little cheaper/easier to get but otherwise I get sushi and other things from here weekly. Its nice that they deliver to my shop (Flat Land Games) and they are fast about getting it here. Just wish I could order less in order to get it. read more

Loved everything. Maybe some of the lightest and most delicious crab rangoon I've ever had. Very light super crispy. All of the Thai dishes are great. Sushi is average. Watch out when ordering "hot" because it was damn hot once. read more

Had the Medium Pad Thai it was very mild and a little dry + I ordered it with chicken but it came with fried tofu? Decent lunch though and the Tom Ka was really tasty, I ordered a cup and it was really big not sure if thats because the waiter messed up and gave me a bowl or if their cup is just generous. Its very modern and clean and overall it was a good lunch but I like my Thai spicy so i was a bit disappointed about that. read more

This place really should be shut down thats how bad it is. Absolutely no flavor at all. Got basil fried rice and husband got Pad Thai. I mean how can they mess up basil fried rice and the place is called Thai Basil? I dont even think they use salt or oil thats how bland it was. And the pad thai was just plain white noodles thats how little sauce there was if they even use a sauce. Very bland. This is a very Americanized Thai place. If you know real Thai food you wont go here because its the basic opposite of thai! read more

All of the positive reviews were true. I usually only eat Thai at lunch, but this place was quiet for dinner. Service was prompt and the food arrives as ordered and piping hot. We got the usual, drunken noodles and pad Thai. The shrunken noodles was delicious, but could have used extra broccoli...the pad Thai was sweeter than most places we've went. I also tried the hot and sour soup, and it was yum yum. Lastly I want to rave about the crab Rangoons, probably the best I've ever had! Definitely will be going back again soon... read more

DON'T GO! TRY NOVI SIAM SPICY! This is my dad's go-to spot since they have decent food, but the flavor is always wrong. Me and my brother are Pad Thai fans, and sometimes the it's way too sweet and other times is way too spicy. The service and staff is crappy, we ordered medium flavored food, and we got spicy instead, and when we asked for it to get replaced, the _____ got mad at ME, and hung up on me. I wholeheartedly recommend novi Siam spicy; cheaper, nicer people, better food. It's that simple. read more

I recently moved to ferndale and am having a hard time not being able to get my thai basil fix! Sure there are thai places here and in royal oak but none of them compare :( i fell in love with their pineapple fried rice and have been chasing the dragon, so to speak, trying to find a comparable dish here to no avail! They're all over sauced and not nearly as fresh nor contain as much egg, and apparently the cucumbers and raisins they put in are unique to thai basil. I know their appetizers, desserts, and bubble tea are just as delicious as i always bring friends who fall in love too. read more

Not the best Thai food, but the best Thai food in the worst part of the country to order Thai food: Michigan. It was spicy!!! Even the mild was spicy, which is how Thai food should be. They had papaya salad which is so wonderful. The fresh green papaya, with the lime juice and the peanuts and the hot peppers...it's just to die for! I highly recommend it unless you are off put by fish sauce like my wife. But whatever! More for me!!! The Masaman Curry is very good. The portions are pretty solid and if you get an appetizer, two adults can share one entree. I highly recommend Tom Kha Gai (Chicken Coconut Soup) especially during cold/flu season. I asked for extra ginger and got two quarts when I had the flu and combined with an early dose of Tamiflu it knocked it right out. They say they deliver but I don't think they deliver to South Lyon. I seem to be in a food vortex on 10 mile. But that's my problem! Go check out Thai Basil, you will not be disappointed. read more

I love Thai Basil...but only the Livonia location. You'd think they would be the same since they're the same company. But nope. The Novi location doesn't understand that there are different levels of spice. I order mild spice at the Livonia restaurant, and it's so good and so perfect every, single time... but Novi? It's so spicy, it's inedible. One bite and it goes in the trash. I've given them enough chances, but they just don't seem to get it. I wouldn't recommend going to this place, unless you enjoy not having tastebuds. read more

I hear even more growth is on the horizon as they establish an even greater presence in the building next door. I am also thankful that the integrity and the high-quality is very much present and everything they do. The service is always top notch and they try to open up a lot of lanes so people get through quickly because it is busier than ever. The word is definitely out. I've seen a lot of posts on social media and it's bringing in an even greater crowds, which is fantastic! Note: the on-line ordering is also so convenient and their sushi platters are high-level!

Thai Basil has truly gone downhill. The shrimp rolls were sort of limp. The dipping sauce for the shrimp rolls wasn't good. Not sweet, and only half a cup. The Honor of the Queen had sooooo much tasteless tofu. The cashew chicken was light on the cashews. read more
