The Thai Cafe has new owners but the food is still the best in town. Reasonable prices and good portions. Tried the Crab Rangoon and it was great. The pad Thai is amazing and the pad see-ew is great. Lunch prices are the way to go.

I love this place. Whenever I end up south of Springfield, I always look forward to stopping on my way back to DC. Need to go to Home Depot? I'll drive a bit extra to give me an excuse for Thai Cafe? Target? Same. My "go to" dishes are any of the curries but I really love the Panang Curry with Chicken. The Pad Prik King (string beans) with Beef are also phenomenal. They have some heat too...not too much, just right. After coming here for so long, I was sad to see the wonderful Thai couple owners depart. However, the new owners seem great. They said they were keeping the same great menu. Looks like they added some "street food" options. Worth a drive! Check them out. What did you think?

The food was so good that I forgot to take pictures of everything they kept bringing. I had the opportunity to meet the original owner's daughter and she did a phenomenal job at helping us pick out what to order. My table ordered family style and I'm so glad we did because it gave me the opportunity to try a lot. I am still thinking about my favorite dish - papaya salad made at medium heat. My goodness, I could eat that every day !! The server was so nice and attentive. They constantly checked up on us. Definitely will stop here again for lunch!

Virginia is blessed with so many really good Thai restaurants! We are new to the area from SoCal, and dined here after charging up at the nearby Tesla Supercharger. Thai Cafe is pretty easy to find with ample parking. We were greeted immediately upon entering and seated right away. Decor is simple and clean. We ordered yum woonsen, numtok noodle soup, siam beef, and tod mun pla. Overall I would say the food is good, leaning a bit to the sweet side though. We support local restaurants so we are glad we gave them a try.

I came in to the restaurant today to have a late lunch. I was promptly seated and given a menu. 2 employees were seated eating the 3rd employee that seated me did not return to take my order. There was no reason for this with only 1 patrons in the dining room. I was just here a few days ago and had a wonderful meal. Shout out to Nikki!!! I have never been treated with so much disdain. The rating is based on today 1-21-25. I will not return nor will I recommend to anyone. I can spend my money where it is appreciated. Please note the photos are from the visit a few days ago.

Nice quiet place for lunch or dinner. Great service and great foods. My favorite is the mixed seafoods Thai Cafe fried rice..

Excellent food at a reasonable price! Easily accessible near the Springfield Mall, Thai Cafe is ready with friendly service and a comfortable atmosphere. I had the crispy Pork Belly and it was delicious. Highly recommend

The best Thai I've had recently .. and their portions are huge !! Def will be back. And the servers are so nice and caring. I saw a picture of a menu item that looked good but apparently they stopped serving. When I had inquired about it, the server went back to the kitchen to ask if they could make it for me even though it was no longer in the menu, and they made it happen.

This is my second bad experience that's why I had to leave a review the first occasion was when I order for my girl I told them no peanuts because she is allergic and they said ok and still put it on the meal I drove 30 minutes there and back to get the food. The second time we went back they made the food good but while we are eating we found a string of something looks like a rope or something but these people are disgusting with poor customer service.

This place is so cute! The front of the restaurant looks like a place that just does takeout. The main dining area is in the back and really nice. We went in on a Sunday evening and the place was pretty busy. Service was excellent and the servers were really helpful. I ordered the big bowl Tom Yum dinner with chicken and it was really good. I wished it was a little spicier but the servers bought me a spice tray and fixed it. My husband had the Chicken Pad Kapow and it was freaking amazing! I know exactly what I am going to order the next time I come here. Definitely recommend

So chic, not the usual Thai Restaurant interior. The staff were so personable. And THE FOOD is fantastic! I am glad we stopped by and checkout this place. While we were waiting the two ladies beside our table told us that this is one of their favorite places to eat at. And when we had our food, we understand why. It's so fresh, from the meat to the side dishes. I feel like I am back in Thailand. When I was researching on this restaurant, I found out that the chef taught in Bangkok culinary school. No wonder why this place is a gem! This place is amazing and highly recommend to try. Note: The portion is big and so you are getting what you pay for. Parking is shared and a lot of spaces. That's how I spend many of my days off as a restaurant owner myself. My experience started off on the wrong foot when I was directed to a very small table for one. I politely explained several times that I typically order a substantial amount of food and would need more space. I was told the larger tables were reserved and that tables could be pushed together later if needed. As the meal progressed, a longtime friend of mine who works there came out to say hello. Shortly afterward, tables were combined, apologies were offered, and the experience improved significantly. What left me puzzled was that many of the larger "reserved" tables remained empty throughout my visit. By the time I left around 5:00 PM, they still had not been used. The food was mixed. I came specifically for the Khao Mun Gai, one of Thailand's most iconic dishes. Unfortunately, it was underwhelming. The chicken was average, the rice was decent, and the accompanying soup lacked depth and flavor. On the positive side, the Crackin' Belly was excellent--crispy, flavorful, and well executed. The Pad Thai Siam Shrimp was solid, and while the Tom Sab soup had good flavor, it was a bit too spicy for my preference. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The space is modern, clean, bright, and thoughtfully designed. Easily one of the nicer Thai restaurant interiors in Northern Virginia. One additional detail stood out. My friend joined me briefly for a toast. I ordered a double bourbon, and he ordered a shot. All three shots appeared on my bill, totaling $45. While not a major issue, it felt like a missed opportunity for hospitality given the circumstances. In the end, my bill was approximately $163 for a solo meal. My biggest takeaway wasn't the food--it was the inconsistency in hospitality. The experience improved dramatically after I was recognized, and every guest should feel welcomed and valued from the moment they walk through the door, regardless of appearance or assumptions about what they may spend. The restaurant has a talented kitchen, a beautiful dining room, and plenty of potential. With more consistent hospitality, this could easily become a destination Thai restaurant.

My friend who isn't typically a fan of thai tea really liked Mae Ornnit's version, because it wasn't that sweet. We also liked the strawberry smoothie! Some of our food favorites were the moo ping with sticky rice as an appetizer. The pork marinade was really good! The crispy chicken with green curry was also delicious. The chicken had a great crisp, and it wasn't an overwhelming amount of green curry. The volcano tom yum dish using Mama instant noodles was a visually stunning dish. It was also tasty, served with a lot of seafood. The Mama cup was repurposed to hold veggies. I kind of wished there were more seasoning or some sauce with the veggies because they were a bit dry, but we mixed it in with the noodles, so no biggie. We devoured the mango sticky rice, that was about $9. We should've ordered 2 of those to share amongst us 4. The mango was perfectly ripe and delicious!!! The menu was huge (which actually was three separate menus). We started out with Crispy Wontons, Tom Kha soup and Tom Yum soup. The delicately thin Crispy Wontons were tasty. The Tom Yum soup was very good. The flavor of the spicy Tom Kha soup was also very good. Even if it's traditional to be prepared this way, I didn't like the hard pieces of lemongrass in the soup I had to pick out. I ordered the lunch special pork Phad Thai. With bits of pink-tipped barbecued pork the smoky flavored Phad Thai was good, even if it was served on a plate that was a tad too small. The Gai Tod crispy chicken came with a yellow curry sauce. The perfectly seasoned curry sauce was delicious and the chicken excellent. My Thai Iced Coffee was excellent. The best part of our meal was the mango sticky rice for dessert. The mango was sweet and ripe and the rice with condensed milk was wonderful. We do wish that they hadn't brought out entrees almost immediately after our appetizers. That made for a crowded table.
