I was in the neighborhood on a workday and wanted something better than just quick for lunch, so I stopped by Yindee. It was mid-afternoon and I was the only sit-down customer. Yindee was comfortable and clean. The server, who might have been the owner or manager, was very reserved, unsmiling and not welcoming at all. He was fine at taking my order and bringing out my food, but he never checked up on me. However, another woman in the restaurant called out a friendly thank you as I was leaving. This is a restaurant with a bar, noting that the bar is well-stocked. Unfortunately, FOX News was on the TV behind the bar. At least the sound was off so I didn't have to hear the lies. I ordered Beef Phad Thai and a Thai Iced Coffee. The Beef Phad Thai was outstanding, really delicious with plenty of beef and just a little scallion. Loved the scrambled egg on top. Probably some of the best Phad Thai I've ever had! The Phad Thai came with a complimentary egg roll that was accompanied by fresh greens with a delightful light ginger dressing. Normally it seems chefs go overboard with ginger, but here's an example of using just the right amount. The Thai Iced Coffee came in a generous portion, but had an odd bitter flavor. The great Phad Thai is what motivates me to come back. If it wasn't for the Phad Thai, this review would have been three stars. read more

Located a store away from Starbucks and Walgreens. There is plenty of parking available. I ordered calamari fries, yindee pad Thai with seafood and krapow. I asked the server for Thai 5 spicy but really really spicy. I pretty much have a low tolerance but was craving really spicy food. On the receipt it said Thai 5 spicy x10 on it. There was 0 spice to it. The yindee pad Thai had a bland flavor, no spice at all. Wasn't appetizing. If that is considered the spiciest level they got, then that's just disappointing. Would have given this place a 1 star but the calamari fries were pretty good, however the breading fell apart quickly. I will not be returning. read more

We really enjoy the Thai food from Yindee. We used to come before it changed hands, and simply didn't return for a while. Shame on us. The food is excellent for an American palette. The prices are reasonable for the quality and amount of food delivered. The service is prompt, and courteous. The restaurant has less than 10 tables with outside seating available in the nice weather. My choice is their Pai Thai, my bride loves their pineapple friend rice, and our son enjoys their squash medley pad Thai with chicken and shrimp added. I went to Yindee thai, and it was wonderful. I got the crab ragoons and the curry puffs. The crab raccoons were delicious, but as usual, you can't really tell if there's any crab in them. But the sweet chili sauce that came with them was delicious. The curry puffs were amazing as was the sauce they served with them. They were so amazingly seriously I couldn't quit eating them. Very light and flaky, perfect amount of curry. For my Main, I had eggplants stirfry, with pork. It was really really tasty, the broth was really light and was delicious. Especially the large pieces of eggplants they were cooked just perfectly. And I had to finish with mango stick rice. The rice was hot. The mango was cold , and the syrup was only very light. They decorated it to match the season and I liked the atmosphere in here. The servers were all very nice and repeated the order to make sure it was correct. I came on a Sunday (party of two) but noticed that they had a weekday lunch special for a reasonable price. There was ample seating. We ordered the Yindee fried rice with shrimp and chicken and drunken noodles with seafood. It came inside of a pineapple half as I've seen with many other Thai restaurants. The pineapples were fresh and complimented the salty/savory dish. The shrimp and chicken were very good. The cashew nuts gave a nice change in texture without being overly hard. The drunken noodles had a nice texture but not sure about the freshness of the scallops and mussels. Overall food quality was 4/5. Service was 5/5. read more

And I stood there! One of the employees, stayed diligent filling and then dumping out a water pitcher, looked at me and nothing. So I stood, one of the kitchen staff came out, looked and me, dropped off a to go order and went back in the kitchen, and I stood there! A person came in , pushed past me and went to claim a to go order, and that is when I took my hint and left. No one tried to ask if I wanted to go or seat, I saw no wait staff other than the bartender? This use to be a great little local place, but not today. With a huge competition just up the walkway, you would think they would jump at a customer. But I get the feeling they are not long for the Springfield area and have given up the fight. I found Yindee Thai on a rainy weekend. When I came in I was greeted and seated. The dining room is very nice and just enough. Not to big not to small. Ther is a nicely appointed bar area with plenty of seating. Very nice ambiance. I usually order dumplings and shrimp pad thai. I decided to try something different. I had the tom yum soup with chicken and dumplings. The soup is a huge serving. It stayed hot and was very flavorful. Same with the dumplings. Service was attentive without hovering too much. My mom is a big fan of Thai food specifically Pad Thai. So we decided to take her to try out Yindee Thai's lunch special! While entering service was very fast, we got the Pad Thai Pork Lunch Special Spice level 1 and Pad Thai Shrimp Lunch Special Spice Level 3. When ordering with the lunch special you get a spring roll. The Spring roll wasn't bad, but not amazing. It was provided a nice texture to the overall meal. The Pad Thai came out pretty fast, a bit unusual since the eggs were on top of the pad thai instead of being mixed in. The Pad Thai was good though I liked how it was sweet, and just spicy enough for me. Overall, the lunch special was definitely worth it, and I would come back to get it again. I recommend what ever spice level you think about getting go 1 under. Since the Pad Thai spice level 3 was too spicy for my mom, so she ended up sharing with my sister. read more

Very disappointed! I have been coming here since it's opening and never had an issue with the service. However, today I went to dine in alone today and wasn't served. The place is small and I dine there regularly. I finally walked out after being ignored for 20 minutes while I watched the staff greet and serve everyone but me who entered the restaurant. The restaurant is small and they saw me. They even made eye contact but never came over to take my drink order or serve me in any way. Very disrespectful and unprofessional!!! We order takeout for a family of four and are always impressed with the quality of food and the size of dinner portions. The garden rolls were salad in a wrap - not bad to look at, but nothing special, and the sesame sauce added very little (the more common peanut sauce might have been better). The green curry sauce had minimal flavor, which is strange, and the chicken in it was over cooked. The crispy basil chicken was also pretty flavorless, including the tamarind sauce. Great Thai food! We order almost every other week if not every week! Favorite dish is the Pad Thai with chicken.

My daughter has been bugging me to please try this place. She has severe reaction to MSG so knowing they don't cook with it has made her ready to try. So thankful we stopped in tonight with my wife and my daughter. Ann waited on us along with a couple other employees all were very nice and knowledgeable. We stopped coming here because the food quality had gone downhill. Recently I met a friend for lunch. They offer a $10 lunch deal that's an entree and an Eggroll. Service was SO slow and we were the 2nd table at noon on a weekday. It wasn't for lack of staff because there were about 2-3 people working the floor. Both of us ordered noodle dishes. Our small Eggroll arrived with a nice fresh salad. The Eggroll was super duper greasy. That's when it went downhill. We noticed the 3rd table that arrived a good 15 minutes after us got their food within minutes of sitting. Our noodle dishes still not present. It was probably a good 15-20 minutes before the server brought our food. The food was COLD. The noodles were sticking to each other. I ordered a tofu Pad See Eu dish and I counted 5 pieces of tofu. They tried to decorate or insult our dishes with a floppy fried egg. Honestly, the worst dish of this kind. My friend had a Pad Thai that probably had 3 pieces of chicken and that floppy egg. Pleasantly surprised that the food was so good! We love hot and spicy and they met the demand without losing the flavors. The use of spiral cut zucchini instead of wheat or even rice noodles added a level of texture and flavor I was not expecting. The zucchini absorbed like a sponge the sauce (which could have been a little thicker but still so flavorful). The fried tofu had a nice exterior while still having a a soft interior which also held the flavors. I should note that the garden rolls with peanut sauce were fancy but small. Don't get me wrong, they tasted good but still. The drink menu was creative well executed. We tried a few and each were well balanced and tasty with a unique flair of their own. We had the fried banana dessert which was small for the price. I would skip there ice cream as it was low quality with a high air content. We really wanted to love this place but it did not live to expectation. We've been living in the area for couple of years and finally decided to give this place a try. Firstly, the interior decor is great and everything looked clean. However, service was VERY slow. We came here on a Monday and there weren't a lot of guests (maybe 1-2 tables in addition to ours at most) yet most of the time we couldn't get a hold of any server to order food or get the check! Regarding the food, we got the Yindee Pad Thai, Honey Duck Curry, and Thai Hot Sizzling Plate. The pad thai and curry were decent; the pad thai is a bit too sweet for my taste. The worst thing was probably the sizzling plate. I thought it was supposed to be steak on a sizzling plate or similar to fajita of some sort but it was very thinly shaved beef that were way overcooked because of the hot plate and and very small portion. All that for a whopping price tag of $20! We did order the Thai iced tea and the Lemon Thai iced tea. The milk tea one was good but the lemon tea one was not good. The owner/server was nice enough to switch us to the milk tea. Overall, I gave three stars because it's not a bad option for a group meal especially for birthdays or gatherings given the service level and the restaurant ambience. Our local Thai place just got a super duper review. We had a chance to meet the owner and found out that Yindee Thai and Rice and Noodle in Alexandria are related. This boosted our confidence in Yindee since we are frequent diners at Rice and Noodle. The food was really good tonight. We've been here for lunch and dinner in the past. Each visit was consistently good. The food is always fresh and the service was courteous. Tonight I indulged in an order of Chicken Satay and an entree of a lime infused beef dish and broccoli. The beef was tasty and flavorful. We will definitely be dining here more often. We also found out they offer two Noodle dishes made with squash noodles.
