    Yellow Curry with Chicken
    Brenda S.

The food is so delicious. Best Yellow Curry with chicken. Lots of chicken and just the right amount of vegetables. The waitress was so nice and welcoming us. Fast service also. We ordered then did our shopping and the timing was perfect. Delicious. Will definitely be returning

We came to Joshua Tree to celebrate a friend's birthday on a holiday weekend(12.28) , which meant large crowds and busy restaurants . We came here hoping to enjoy a meal. Our party of six walked in and were immediately and rudely told there was no room for us, I'm quoting the server " theres no room for you." We weren't asking to all sit together and were happy to be flexible- especially since we had been out exploring Joshua Tree all day and were hungry . There were a couple of empty tables, yet we weren't given a chance to explore our options. No greeting, no kindness, just dismissal. Being busy doesn't excuse being unkind and unprofessional. I'm sharing this experience in the hope that it reaches management and the server involved, so the issue can be addressed and future guests don't have a similar experience.

Everything was delicious. Friendly and attentive service, clean, and reasonably priced. Will come again.

Shame on you for charging $14 for plain rice noodles with no seasoning, spices, or sauce and calling it Pad Thai.

Service was not the most welcoming when we first came in but, the second waitress did smile and greet us warmly. I don't eat a ton of Thai food but this place was legit. A no-frills, clean, low-key, small restaurant (had a restaurant feel rather than a cafe or fast food place), and situated next to trendier eateries, but here you come strictly for the food. We shared the fried chicken dumplings, the duck curry and shrimp pad thai. All three were instantly recognizable, tasty and came out piping hot. We are used to, and like, medium spicy food (choice here of mild, medium, hot) but reading some of the other reviews we held back and went with mild and were glad we did. Our meal had a definite kick that would pass as medium elsewhere, except strangely for the (very mild) duck curry but it was still tasty. Good value and friendly service. We will happily return.

It was a Thursday morning but they were extremely packed. It probably was the rush after the meteor shower evening. I ordered the country fried steak, my friends ordered the lemonade (homemade but SUPER TART!!), the last biscuits and gravy (this was gonna be my order too!), and the veggie omelet, and we ordered a regular French toast to share. Their homemade biscuit was hefty, but the gravy matched the biscuit. The workers were friendly and helpful when asking questions and for assistance. I loved all the homey decor, and the pictures. I was so happy to see a picture of Anthony Bourdain stopped here! Would definitely recommend coming here if you're on a stop into Joshua Tree.

The biscuits were super dry and the vegetarian cream flavorless. The vegan breakfast burrito had more flavor to it so it was decent. It took maybe 40-45min for the food to come out. Other tables also waited quite a while for their food. There was a bit of a wait to get seated. Fortunately they have outside seating while you wait and a restroom. We walked over to get coffee at Joshua Tree Coffee Company. The staff are super nice.

We missed our reservation time but decided to try a walk in because it was the whole reason we came into town in the first place. We were greeted by two really nice hosts who assured us there was room for us sooner than later and we were seated with our dog on the patio pretty quickly. They were so nice to us and doubly nice to our dog! We ordered fried eggplant, gazpacho, ceviche, a lamb burger, and got a lamb burger patty for the dog (we're not order food for the dog people but she was going through it too with the Walmart stuff so why not). We added a couple glasses of wine and their beer shandy and finished with a strawberry shortcake. Every bite was perfect but we rated them- Gazpacho, Lamb Burger, Eggplant, Ceviche. The gazpacho was a hit with the perfect amount of fresh/sweet cantaloupe and spicy-ness. This place was well worth the trip from Big Bear. My wife noted that everyone there that helped us legit looked happy to be there. There was also a medical emergency and the staff was so kind and helpful throughout and checked in on all the tables in the area afterwards. It kind of showed that they are invested in the people that visit.

We got really lucky - reservations open a month in advance, and we were headed to Joshua Tree the next day. I thought for sure I wasn't going to get a reservation and needed to think of a Plan B for date night. But I texted anyway, with an apology for it being so last minute, and they responded the day of confirming me for the next day! Yay! When we arrived, we asked for a seat inside, since it was super windy that day, and they were able to seat us within a few minutes. We got the butter lettuce salad (delicious), the socarrat (lots of peas and pea sprouts - this was AMAZING, and great the next day cold!), their version of bruschetta on their crispy thin bread - the bread was absolutely amazing. And we also got the tomato...um, I can't remember what it's called, but it has a base of sliced tomatoes, with hard boiled eggs, celery, and tuna aioli! Super refreshing on a super hot day. We also got a couple non-alcky drinks and left very happy. It was loud inside for sure - or, bustling, if we want to be more euphemistic. Service for us was a bit on the chilly side, but that might just be the night our server was having. There are 2 single-stalled bathrooms, and parking is very easy in the huge lot they have. I think we might circle back to this place after trying other eats around the area. This was a good time.

I bought a home in the desert two years ago and now live here full time. I came in solo on September 10th for a cocktail and a burger to go. I was feeling particularly down around 9/11, being from NYC and having been in the area when it happened, and just wanted to sit somewhere familiar and comfortable for a bit. I ordered a cocktail to stay and a cheeseburger to go, and the bartender immediately said, "The kitchen is busy, I don't think we can do a to-go order." I explained that I'm a local and have ordered food to go here many times and asked him to please check. Eventually he took the order, but the cocktail wasn't good and when I got home, the burger I specifically ordered well done was medium to medium rare. The point of hospitality is to be hospitable. I've been coming here for years, and I'm genuinely confused as to why ordering a burger to go became such a difficult and unwelcoming experience.
