Thai Cafe 99 is a Cape Coral gem. My Pad Thai was excellent with tender noodles, a generous serving of chicken with bean sprouts and a sauce unlike any I've had before, all topped with crunchy peanuts and spring onion. Pad Thai is one of my favorites and this one is outstanding! Bonus: portion size was big enough that I have some leftover for lunch today. We got curry and pad Thai. Curry was bland. Despite its description, the only veggies we got were onions and huge chunks of green pepper only, like they didn't even bother to slice them. There were about 4 pieces of beef the size of a US quarter. The pad Thai had more beef but was dry. Won't be ordering from them again. read more

If only I could give zero stars! The dumplings were in soup! The pad Thai was so dry it had no sauce, and all noodles and bean sprouts were covered in dry hot sauce. Terrible. The Tom Kom soup was broccoli and coconut milk ... we ordered shrimp ... but there was chicken in it also ! (?? ) 3 shrimp ! No utensils, no sauce packets nothing accompanied it . We had a quick and nice dinner at Thai Cafe 99. We were greeted and seated promptly, and we were glad because we were so hungry. We ordered a couple of apps and they came out fast. You can tell they were home made and they were delish. We ordered pad thai and after reading other reviews asked how spicy it would be, the waittress said that she didn't feel it was spicy but was aware of how others felt. We didn't mind the spicy and didn't feel that it was the case when we ate it. I had the Thai basil steak with an egg on top and it was delish. We would come here again! read more

I've been twice and can confidently say that this Thai restaurant has amazing curry and phenomenal crying tiger steak. The sauce that went with it paired perfectly with the meat, rice, and cucumber, and was a shockingly delicious meal. Massaman curry and chicken skewers were great as well. The service was very flexible as I was able to have an ingredient substituted for different one, and the setting was great as well. read more

This is a review of food not beverages or ambiance. I get no pleasure out of leaps negative review but had I read this it would have saved me from a substandard meal. Ordered 2 kinds of soup , a highly touted steak dish and our go to for Thai food, a green curry. Not one thing reached the level of mediocrity. We eat Thai food regularly and have had a variety of styles. This food had no finesse. It lacked flavor and each dish had a a problem. Vegetable soup was greasy as in an oil slick on top. Coconut soup had an off taste. The green curry tasted as if a can of green curry sauce had been warmed in a pot and then sat there as plain unseasoned vegetables and tofu were plopped on top and quickly served. It was by far the worst Thai curry I've ever tasted. And to top it off the steak was so tough it could not be cut with a steak knife . Gave up after about 5 minutes of fruitless sawing. There must be better Thai in the area..... pretty sure you could not do worse. read more

The prices are ridiculous, for the portions. I ordered the red beef, at least it was red. The beef was no more than small, slightly more than paper thin chips, over a lump of rice. If your dinner goal is to leave the restaurant still hungry, then you'll enjoy this restaurant. read more

Formally Thai Nawa, now Thai Cafe 99 this restaurant is under new management. Upon walking in I immediately noticed the new decor and minor alterations made to the interior. I found those who worked there to be very friendly and welcoming. I ordered my usual to see how it compares to what I used to get. I noticed the portions are a lot larger and the taste is slightly different. I am satisfied with the food but will definitely miss Thai Nawa. I look forward to trying more of their menu options and a dine-in experience on my next visit. read more

I'm so disappointed and don't like leaving negative reviews, but I just had to because I wouldn't want anyone to waste their money here. I ordered chicken pad Thai and confirmed twice no spice. I came in to pick it up , and there was a woman at the check out and another woman cooking. It was obvious they didn't get along, which was off putting from the start. I suddenly started to smell something burning as I was waiting for my order. I paid and left, and to my unfortunate surprise, the noodles were so incredibly spicy that I couldn't even swallow my first bite. I then realized that there were also BURNED NOODLES in my meal. I'm not sure how any Thai restaurant could screw up pad Thai, but, they have done it. Never returning. read more

This time was way worst than the last two times. fried rice was so plain.. seriously I had being to other really Thai places BUT wow, I needed to added some salt, pepper, soy sauce and even some more and more and more spicy stuff and still nothing. chicken and beef was so plain too.. It is not the same like the past owners for sure; flavors are not even closed to real Thai.. But I would said, the inside was ok, but seems smaller than before.. We are fairly new to the area and hadn't had Thai since we moved here. We were so happy to find Thai Cafe 99 right down the street a few miles from our house! We were greeted by a very pleasant lady (receipt said Patti). We were promptly seated and she asked what we wanted to drink. Soon after we realized she was there by herself doing the hostess job, drinks, cooking and cleanup due to a team member not making it to work due to local flooding. We were joking with her calling her superwoman and she truly was! She managed everything so well even with 3 tables and multiple courses per table from how it appeared, plus takeout pickup on top of those of us dining in. I was so thrilled with my chicken pad Thai and my husband loved his drunken noodles too. I liked that the pad Thai was served mild and then I was able to play with the seasoning and sauces provided to get it to the amount of spiciness I prefer. It was really good and I enjoyed my leftovers for lunch the next day. Don't forget to ring the gong on the way out as Patti said it will bring good luck! Looking forward to returning soon! read more

I was not impressed with my yellow curry with chicken. There's a sign when you walk in stating they up charge for chicken due to inflation however, they did not put barely any chicken in my curry. also kind of bland. I liked Thai Nawa better. read more

The stars are for the ambiance, cleanliness and courteous staff. The food is a dissapointment, small servings for the price I pay. I ordered beef salad, hardly had any veggies. The food and service is amazing. My family needed a spot to grab some food and we popped into the amazing and authentic Thai restaurant. I ordered dumplings that were the best that I've had in a while. I also ordered chicken satay which was cooked perfectly. The peanut sauce which was made from scratch was amazing. Last thing I had was the Pad thai which was super delicious. The ambiance of the place was decorated nicely and very clean. The owner was super nice! Last night my family and I ate here for the first time and we really enjoyed it!! My husband had the Thai Basil with Ground Chicken and it reminded him of a great authentic place we used to eat at in Ohio. He got it with medium spice and it had the perfect heat. I got the Black Pepper Garlic Stir Fry with chicken, medium spice, and I added broccoli. It was delicious and very flavorful with the perfect heat as well. My daughter ate the Pad See Ew. She liked it better than others that she has had here locally and her Thai Iced tea was delicious. The portions were perfect. My daughter couldn't wait to eat her leftovers later that evening. The staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. They just bought the place from another Thai restaurant less than a year ago and in my opinion it NOW taste like authentic Thai food. So If you love Thai food definitely give them a try and don't expect the same dishes or flavors as the last owners. They came with their own family recipes straight from Thailand. read more

We've been loyal customers throughout the owner changes since 2020. This new incarnation of, formerly, Thai Nawa is a huge disappointment and failure. Absolutely next to zero resemblance of Thai food. The flavor was absent and the appetizers felt to be Costco-ish. In short, the "curry" had a super thin, almost milk texture and there simply was no traditional Thai flavor to the red and yellow curries we ordered. Oh, and the pork was dry. read more

Sadly, the sale of Thai Nawa has given the public a fare of Thai food that is not at the same level as before. The Tom Yum soup was waterly and not even similar to Tom Yum soup that a decent Thai restaurant should deliver. The cashew chicken wasn't bad but the Pad Thai was horrible. The crab coral was not too bad. Overall, the food is over priced and a disappointment if you are looking for Thai food that you might hope would bring back memories of basic Thai food in Bangkok. We love thai food so we gave the Thai Cafe 99 a chance. We ordered the panang curry once with chicken and spicy and one with tofu regular spicy. The tofu dish was definitely more spicy than the spicy one, but both were missing flavor. As a starter we had the chicken satay with peanut sauce, which was good, but when we ordered more peanut sauce we got a completely different sauce, that was weird. read more

I was at previously owned restaurant and remember their Chicken Pad Thai as pretty good. Didn't know it was under new management before I arrived. I ordered Chicken Pad Thai, Chicken Fried Rice, To Go, so didn't see anything until I I got home....WELL....I paid $15 dollars for a container of White Rice! With a clump of chicken all stuck together, some strands of onion and TWO slices of carrots! No taste at all! I'm not kidding! How you can screw up Fried Rice is mind boggling. The Chicken Pad Thai had Red Sauce, not sure what this was, not the brown sauce I am familiar with and not the usual toppings, bean sprouts, lemon grass, etc. I had to sauté both dishes separately and add salt, pepper, broth, ginger and a few others (some vegetables I just happened to have at home for the Rice) to make both edible! This place better get it together or they will be gone. I for one will never go here again. read more
