It was raining and thundering last night and we decided to come here and have Pho to warm up. The restaurant is darling with all its colorful decor, There are rotating lanterns and a tv that plays a lovely aquarium. We were sitting by some decor that had birds. Sue was our outstanding server, She helped us order and we got the Pho with brisket and beef. She was kind enough to portion the Pho between us! We also had the chicken and shrimp fried rice which is a favorite of ours. Sue told us she was born using chopsticks! David and I still struggle with them lol! Everything was delicious and piping hot. The Pho had the herbs, lime and jalapeño on the side. The fried rice had broth. David couldn't resist the chili sauce and then couldn't stop coughing! He does this every time and maybe he should just add a few drops instead of a teaspoon. We enjoyed everything we ate and the flavors were amazing! Not sure when I'd bookmarked this restaurant, but I'm so glad I did. We came for lunch today and it was wonderful. It's located in the same plaza as Sam's Club and there's a large parking lot out front. First off, right outside the restaurant are lush plantings, a trellis with bamboo, flowers, tin geckos on the tree and much more. And inside the decorations continue with birds, more bamboo, and greenery and lanterns etc. The staff is friendly and welcoming. We were here for a late lunch on a Saturday. They were busy when we first entered and people didn't stop coming in the whole time we were there. We started with a shrimp summer roll. As there were two rolls, it was perfect for sharing as we got one roll each. We both really liked the peanut sauce that came with the dish, too. We each got a banh mi sandwich. The grilled roast pork one with the veggies, but I left off the jalapeños and mayo on mine. It was cut in two pieces on a crusty French bread roll. We added some hoisin sauce (on the table along side the sriracha sauce) and chomped away. Just what we were in the mood for today. My husband had an iced jasmine tea to drink. My third visit here this year. The ambience is amazingly a 5 star delight. Colorful and welcoming with back ground music and opinionated wait staff for the unsure (me) American who decidedly enjoys Vietnamese and Thai over the average Chinese. Today it's BN-4 & a 2nd order of R-13 with an extra plate so both of us can enjoy share the variety of flavors. I like my main course served hot. The shrimp/beef is room temperature with cool veggies. Tasty but only 3.5 star. The R-13 was served hot and won the taste-off. Shrimp, chicken, egg fried rice with veggies was 5 star. Wow...just wow. The moment you walk into this restaurant, it feels like you've been transported into another dimension, almost like an Asian fantasy world. The flowers and stunning décor surrounding the seating areas are absolutely breathtaking and truly set the atmosphere.On top of the beautiful setting, the food was outstanding. The pork and shrimp spring rolls were some of the best I've ever had. The pork was actually crispy and seasoned to perfection, which made them stand out. The pho was also fantastic. Odd to write an update less than a month after my original review .... but our second experience at Pho Bamboo wasn't great. (Is there someone new working in the kitchen?!) We returned with friends. Once again I ordered pho ga and a grilled pork banh mi. Neither measured up. The bread was stale, the pork gristly, little strips that made me think they used discarded bits from another dish. Little flavor. The broth of my soup was as good as last time. Rather than nicely sliced pieces of chicken there were chunks. Tough chunks with little flavor. I had to pull the chicken apart with my fingers to get manageable pieces. Though I wasn't thrilled, I'll likely give them another chance thinking today was an aberration. However, finding such establishments here in Florida has proven to be quite challenging. Fortunately, I stumbled upon a hidden gem nestled within the Sam's Club plaza. I quickly searched on Google and found Pho Bamboo and I'm so glad we did! We started with the shrimp fresh summer rolls and the grilled pork and shrimp fresh summer rolls. Our waitress, Catherine, told us the grilled pork and shrimp rolls were really popular, so we had to try them. She was absolutely right. They were so fresh and flavorful. For our entrées, we had the chicken pho and the bowl noodle salad with grilled beef and egg rolls. The chicken pho was comforting and delicious. My noodle bowl was amazing, the grilled beef was seasoned so well and full of flavor, and the egg rolls added the perfect crunch. The veggies were fresh, and the sauce that came with it just brought everything together. Every bite was so good. We also tried a boba tea, and wow such a perfect treat to finish the meal! This place has over 300 reviews and so I figured it would be good since the photos looked very authentic. The food was good and I was excited that they offer fresh fruit smoothies except that they are out of milk and couldn't make my favorite avocado smoothie, what a disappointment. Service was prompt and quick. The bun bo hue noodles were a little thinner that what I'm used to and not very spicy. The cha used looked a little weird. Had a brisket and tendon pho. It was OK, but I was a disappointed by the trimmings. There are many kinds of basil and the best for pho is Thai basil. it is very pungent and contributes greatly to the flavoring of the pho. The basil that was served was not Thai basil, it was a much weaker variety with a larger leaf. Italian basil? The other comment I had was in regards to the crispy bean sprouts that are served alongside the pho, to be put into the soup by the customer. I didn't receive bean sprouts, but sliced cabbage instead. Sliced cabbage may be customary for some, but I was caught unaware and didn't care for it. Spring rolls were bland as far as pho it was tasty ** except they gave me angel hair vermicelli?? No restaurant should serve that with soup it belongs in sping rolls and disappears in broth. The Bun Bo Hue was very poorly packaged when I got home 4 miles I had a bag full of broth Yuck. I know it was the packaging as the Pho made it just fine. Pretty good service this evening from a polite and helpful young lady who patiently answered my mom's seemingly unending questions and customizations as we ordered our dinners. I try not to customize too much, going with a straight pho ga (chicken broth with chicken) but I did ask them to hold the noodles as I'm still doing my keto diet. The young lady suggested extra cabbage instead and that was awesome. Soup arrived soon after and it was good. Nice and rich broth, a good amount of chicken in there and well loaded with vegetables. The plate of fixings gave me the opportunity to add basil and fresh lime juice and some bean sprouts and then mix through some sriracha. It took it from good to great. The decor is vibrant and interesting. They can probably do without displaying wine/beer boxes and find a storage rack at the back. The combination pho was delivered to another table and then brought to me. It was missing 1 of the four meats. The soup could have been hotter in temperature. The flavor of the broth was pretty good - meaty, star anise and had large slices of onions. My son had the beef rib plate ($19)- it was a bit over cooked - burnt and it was chewy where a lot of meat got stuck in his teeth afterwards. The rice is over cooked and soggy. Fried egg rolls were just okay; looks like they were sitting on the plate for a few minutes because they were just warm and not freshly hot; if not, slightly colder than being warm. Vermicelli was the best thing I had on the menu and I would definitely have that again. 3. I wish they had different sizes of pho available. Some people like my sister does not eat that much and having just 1 size of pho might be too much and the foods go to waste. I'm done giving my hard earned money to this restaurant. I ordered through UberEats, the dish was Tofu Vegetarian Pho Soup, I get my order and the main protein ingredient of this meal, tofu is freaking missing from my order. I call the place up, some guy named Chun answers, I tell him what happened "Ohhh, yeah, I guess it's human error, the owner isn't here so let me call him and I'll have him give you a refund through the Uber eats app, he just gos in there and does it". I said okay, thank you! He called me back said he talked to the owner and that I would have my refund that evening. I repeat, that evening. It's been 3 days, I gave them time yet still no refund I will make sure to tell everyone I fucking know about your service. UberEats isn't cheap, you end up paying $30 for one pho and I'm not rich. Looking for my Pho fix in Fort Myers, I thought I would give Pho Bamboo a try. I had the P10, House Special Combination Meat Pho The broth was beefy, rich and well perfumed from the spices use to make the broth which was a little on the sweet side, more in the style you will find in southern Vietnam with the thinner noodle used. The soup had plenty of tasty tender meat in this delicious soup, served with the usual fresh basil, bean spouts, jalapeño and lime wedge. I also tried the grilled pork Banh Mi. The grilled pork meat was nicely seasoned and grilled and also filled with the typical cucumber, pickled radish, carrot, cilantro and jalapeño, only thing missing for me was the true Vietnamese baguette, with its crispy outside and light and airy inside. We were craving for some pho, and heard that a new Vietnamese Pho Noodle House opened in the Sam's Club Plaza. They renovated the store formerly occupied by the Molon Labe Souvlaki/3 Fishermen. Interior is now decorated with bamboo and at the right rear now has a Paradise Smoothies operation here. Ambience is airy and bright! Pho Bamboo opened about a week ago. We went in around 5:00 PM. They were not packed and with 9 tables occupied. The menu has the standard pho or beef noodle soup, with beef, chicken, seafood, meat ball, vegetable. You can also have grilled pork chop, chicken, beef short rib, grilled pork and egg roll or grilled shrimp with egg roll! Appetizers such as egg rolls, shrimp egg rolls, spring rolls in various combination as well as Banh Mi. The Banh Mis are limited to BBQ pork, grilled pork, grilled beef and beef stew. They featured the fresh fruit smoothies, Boba milk tea and even Young coconut juice with meat and Jello coconut. We sample the eye round steak and brisket pho and a grilled beef short rib. The eye round steak pho came only in one size and it is huge! Be prepared take some home with you. Otherwise, the beef broth is full of flavor and the ingredients are fresh! Two pieces of grilled beef short rib are fine and they are marinated and grilled right but it is thin cut! My personal preference is for a thick cut. We shared a Taro milk tea. Not sure, I think they are one of franchise from the local Paradise Smoothie here in Fort Myers! I checked their menu on Yelp that was supplied by Grubhub. There are some discrepancies in price from the restaurant menu! For example, Eye Round Steak & brisket in the restaurant menu is listed as $11.99 but in Grubhub's data it is listed as $13.99. The young coconut juice with meat is listed as $4.99 where as Grubhub listed as $5.99! Owner or management need to contact Grubhub to make the correction. We went on a busy Sunday afternoon and despite many tables seated, our food came out a very good timing. We started off with pork and shrimp summer rolls, fresh and tasty with a peanut sauce. My table ordered Beef brisket pho and round steak and tendon pho and pork and shrimp noodle bowl. Everything was excellent. The broths were so tasty and the bowl portions were huge. The noodle bowl was as big as the pho bowls and loaded to the brim. The egg roll that comes in the noodle bowl is the best tasting egg roll I've ever had. They have about 8-9 good sized booths and several tables for larger or smaller parties. Their ban mi selection is broad. Pho choices of beef, vegetarian and seafood broths.
