I'm glad that they can make this place is real business since the new owner took over. I live in the area and order their food for delivery many times but here're something that I would like them to concern; Price; The price is good not too expensive almost same with the previous owner and compare to other restaurants in the area, but the portion is quite smaller especially all the items in Chef's special. When I ordered something extra (I paid for it), it looks like they didn't put extra for me. I just want them to pay attention for this. Food; Their food is not bad but you need to know that everything is TOO SWEET comparing with the previous owner. Last time, I ordered some curry it was too sweet even the waiter told me not to order that but I made the wrong decision. If they can slow down a sugar a little bit, their food would be better. Sometime, I ordered their Padthai and I don't know why they throw a peanut all over the Padthai it was too much just put a little on the side it would be better. Overall, it's not bad to order (Better than some Asian restaurants in the area). They have a nice website you can order and get 10% off for both Takeout and delivery! Driver guy will ask for the tip if you don't put ahead but it's not that a problem. If the owner read this I want to say that I do love your food but just your sweetness that I concern. The curry is very flavorful and comes with a lot of meat and vegetables. It is very very spicy, so I wouldn't recommend to those with sensitive taste buds. I ordered the chicken satay and was disappointed that my peanut sauce was diluted and watery, very liquid and not thick at all. Perfect Pad Thai. Easily the most authentic Thai food on the North Shore, they offer traditional Pad Thai or you can opt for country style (spicy, and my personal favorite). They also have Woon Sen (mung bean noodles) Pad Thai, which is rare on a menu, yum! The owners (mother & daughter) know how to make my stomach happy, and cook up huge portions quickly, so I never have to wait long to satisfy my Thai food fix. The food is just as delicious the following day. If you can eat it all in one sitting, I'm impressed, but it does take restraint to stop eating, it's so good! I've received lots of their pamphlets in my mail box and decided to give Thai Cafe a try. The inside is very small (3 small tables, about 8 seats total) and is primarily a take-out/delivery shop. The staff person was very friendly and waited on us at one of the tables. I ordered the green curry chicken, a lunch special served with white rice, a crab rangoon, and a spring roll for about $7.95. My friend ordered the Chicken Pad Thai. I requested that the green curry be made medium spicy to spare me any overwhelming spiciness and it turned out to be a perfect level of spiciness. I was really impressed by the authenticity of the green curry dish. It had bold, but balanced flavor and reminded me of small, family restaurants I visited while traveling through southern Thailand. My only complaint would be that the green curry was slightly greasy and the crab rangoon was empty. I sampled my friend's pad thai, which was one of the best pad thai I've ever tried and I would probably order this for take-out next time. Overall, a good take-out/delivery thai food option in Lynn. Other Menu Options: I noticed that they serve tofu which is hard to find on the North Shore, so I would like to return and try the curry tofu (or tofu soup). read more

I ordered the basil fried rice with chicken and I'm so glad I did!! The chicken was delicious and there were so many veggies in the rice. Such a good flavor to everything. I also got the fresh spring rolls which were huge and so yummy. Didn't love the sweet and sour sauce with it. I would have preferred a peanut sauce but they were so good anyway that the sauce didn't matter so much. Definitely hit the spot! read more

I would recommend this place for take out because of the small (2 seats) sitting area. Hallelujah! After moving to the north shore burbs I was sorely disappointed at the in-town take out Asian food offerings (Thai Thani in Swampscott, very bland; Chinese food everywhere, I do not like Chinese unless it is from a restaurant in a Chinatown). Luckily I checked out Thai Cafe in Lynn this weekend and have found my go-to take out food for the reminder of my life on the north shore. The Pad Thai was great. Fresh, tasty, not super greasy or too sweet-and they added some spice to it upon our request. The drunken noodles were good as well, though I might ask for extra spice in the next time. The red curry was perfectly sweet spicy and creamy without going overboard on any of those taste sensations. And it had lots of different veggies in it too-- bamboo shoots, chinese eggplant. Fried tofu in the veggie dishes was perfect. Portions were enormous and still excellent the next day. I will be back soon and often. read more

Not the same owners after they just re-opened! They no longer have vegetable tempura... I ordered drunken noodles and they were dry definitely not enough sauce... they call it drunken noodle for a reason! The crispy chicken was lacking in flavor, and I asked for extra chicken and they said they would charge $1.00... fine but they never gave me my extra chicken, they did however take my $1 though They should change their name, because they will never be as good as the original Thai cafe!!! read more

Very very disappointing!! We used to order from Thai Cafe religiously and loved it every time. Today, while ordering, we were told that they "changed management".. bad sign.. got our food.. NOT EVEN CLOSE to what it used to be. They used to have this amazing tempura shrimp lightly fried with coconut flakes and peanuts.. we were told that it's the same dish.. noooope... we got 5 sad looking butterflies shrimp that were bland, not crunchy and no hint of coconut or peanuts. Got spring rolls.. at $5, I asked how many you get. Was told that it's 4 tolls cut in half, so 8 pieces.. noooope.. it's 2 rolls cut in quarters. For $5, it's a bit steep.. but more importantly I'm not happy with the fact that I was blatantly lied to about the portion size. Main course portions were half of the size that they used to be.. but cost more. Pad Thai was bland.. as in a bunch of noodles with peanuts on top with no sauce at all, beef basil fried rice was also blah.. didn't have that "I need to keep eating even though I'll explode" feeling that it used to have with previous owners. Overall, unfortunately, we lost our only go to Thai place. Don't waste your money. They have a fancy new menu and a fancy counter but food went way down while prices went way up. read more

My friend introduced me to the deliciousness that is pad thai but she lives all the way out in Lancaster Mass, not wanting to drive 1.5 hours each way to get dinner, I had to find somewhere in my neck of the woods that was good. I saw all the good reviews for Thai Cafe on Yelp and decided to give them a try, and I wasn't disappointed. The store front doesn't look like much but trust me their food is good. I usually get the tofu pad thai. Sometimes I get the tofu triangles, steamed shumai, or steamed dumplings. The pad thai is definitely my favorite. I wish I knew some other thai dishes but I am afraid to waste money on something I won't like. read more

Its real small in there and not the "nicest" place as far as atmosphere but it is tasty and cheap. I had sesame chicken with rice which was kind of cold. I ordered from Thai Cafe after driving by a few times and hearing good things about it from friends. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and freshness for the most part. The Pad Thai was excellent as was the Hot & Sour soup (both were better than Thai Thani's IMO). Delivery was fast and prices were decent. I do have to say though, that the Crazy Noodle was not as good as and MUCH hotter than the dish served at Thai Thani in Swampscott. So much so that, I could not even eat the dish. The food here is great. My personal favorite dish is Mango Fried Rice with Chicken you can't go wrong with it. I tried Thai Cafe just because I was passing by. Sometimes when I hanker for Pad Thai, I drive to Boston. However, theirs was was as good or better than what I have gotten in town. The scallion pancakes were good too. The only thing I didn't care for were the dumplings, which were deep fried. Just not my preference. There are more sit down thai places in Swampsscott. Great new cafe for Thai food. Quaint dining area is very clean and fresh and the owner greeted us and was our server - she is very cheery and appreciative of her customers. I am a huge fan of Pad Thai, not a real Thai food expert by any means but went here for lunch today - Excellent. Seating area is small only 3 tables/10 seats but the food was served steamy hot & very tasty. . The area is a bit on the rough side so for those that are faint of heart take out may be best. I think this may be my new favorite place. I really like Thai food, but find it hard to find outside of the city, so when the Globe ran a great review of this place, I had to check it out. At my first visit, I had tofu pad thai and veggie rolls, which were seriously the best I'd ever had. Initially I found the pad thai too sweet, but upon heating up my leftovers the next day, I thought it was perfect. Wait, did I mention that the portions are huge? Easily enough for two, or maybe even three, meals.We went again yesterday. This time, however, they were out of the rolls (boo!), so I tried tofu triangles and scallion pancakes for my appetizers and loved those as well. For my main course, I got veggie lo mein, which was also really good. My husband, who doesn't particularly like Thai food, tried the orange chicken this time and thought it was good, too. My only complain is that I wish they had noodle tofu. read more
