Thai cafe is one of those places I've been going to practically my whole life. It's a Miami lakes staple located right on Main Street. It's cozy, dimly lit & has an authentic feel. The menu is extensive with alot of variety including noodle dishes, fried rice, sushi, even frog legs! Most recently I ordered a salmon lovers roll that was very fresh with a side of eel sauce for dipping. I also tried their veggie soup. The broth of the soup has good flavor but you have to be ok with eating small pieces of plain steamed vegetables in there. I also ordered iced green tea which isn't on the menu but I wouldn't recommend it-- it tastes like plain water & looks artificially green to me ? I'll stick to hot tea in the future. Me and my husband we love Thai food, we have been to a lot of Thai restaurants at different locations, such as lung yai Thai tapas, Bangkok Bangkok, panya Thai , etc. This is the worst thai restaurant we have been to. The food we ordered all of them tasted just ok, nothing taste good or delicious . The fried whole fish is the worst fried fish I have had in my life. Waste of $25. Their customer service was super bad, the waitress and the waiter looked unhappy, and they never smile to us, even when we keep saying thank you to them. We will never come back again. Towards the tip is the fine establishment that truly packs a punch and is still sort of a hidden secret. It's great for drink or a Pad Thai and it's been around plenty of years creating quite the loyal clientele. The hot sake never runs out which is a plus and it's intimate so your dining experience is sure to impress. There's lot of bamboo shoots and curry dishes along with the peanut based ones for those interested in that mouthwatering sour sweet and gritty texture to their dishes. This cute Thai Cafe is inconspicuously tucked in the heart of Main Street. You will walk right by it if you are not paying attention. Parking can be a pain but there is ample parking behind the Main Street location. Sometimes I just park in the Shulas gym parking lot and walk. I have been to this location countless times and feel it deserves a solid review. The service is quick and they are always checking up on you. I understand how it could be overbearing to some. I always sit in the sushi bar because I am so impressed with how they make the sushi. It's so effortless for them. The sushi chefs ask you how everything is and they are very attentive. Today, I had the simple salmon Naruko roll. It was light, crisp, fresh, and delicious. Perfect to start off if ordering a hefty meal or to simply be healthy and eat light which was my case today. I also ordered the vegetable soup. I was delighted by the heartiness of this dish. The vegetables were crunchy. Perfect texture. The broth tasted great. Not too salty. Ordered on June 26th, 2021. Sushi was Ok.. But their Pad Thai is horrible and very plain, none of the ingredients that other restaurants add on, not even the crumbled peanuts. Juat noodles tosses in soy sauce. Their fried rice is just a sticky plain white rice mixed with big pieces of tomatoes, no flavor, no eggs, or scallions, etc. Major disappointment!! Their spring roll appetizer is a joke, 3 rolls the size of a thumb, with a sugar based sauce. Absolutely horrible and overpriced. Chicken satay came for $9.99 was nothing more then 3 plain steamed pieces of chicken, not even seasoned or grilled and they were terrible. Rating this restaurant a 5 for overall service, food and price. Our reservation for 5 people grew to 15 without any warning to the restaurant. Given that we took up half the restaurant, Thai cafe gets 5+ stars for accomodating all of us in quick time. While the orders were delivered out of sequence (not FIFO), the wait staff did an incredible job taking care of us and ensuring the food got to us as soon as it was ready. The edamame was a hefty portion size and the soft shell crab tempura appetizer was VERY tasty. The accompanying veggies were a great add to the crab dish. Thai Cafe is walking distance from where I live and I have walked by it countless times on Main Street and always noticed it was buzzing with people. I finally decided to give it a try for dinner on a Saturday evening around 8:00PM. My boyfriend and I were seated right away. We began browsing their extensive menu and spent 10 minutes trying to decide between their Shrimp Fried Rice or their Pad Thai. We ended up ordering their Pad Thai, an order of fried Gyoza, a bowl of Wonton Soup, and a Salmon Lover Roll. As we sat waiting for our food, we noticed almost every table had an order of fried rice and/or crispy duck. We started worrying maybe we had made the wrong choice, but that thought quickly left our minds once we began eating. The Gyoza and Wonton Soup were delicious! The fried gyoza were flavorful and perfectly crispy. We actually regretted not getting a whole pot of Wonton Soup. The wontons were very flavorful. Once the Pad Thai came out and we had one bite, we were blown away with the flavor. It's a huge portion (enough for maybe 3-4 people) and we almost ate it all just between us 2 - that's how good it was. The Pad Thai had a sort of grilled flavor to it which was my favorite part. The Salmon Lover roll was very good, too. The salmon tasted very fresh. In the end, this place has become our favorite Thai restaurant. For the price,we give this 5 stars. We started with Spring Rolls. They were hot, fresh and overall awesome. I had the Chicken green curry. It was great. Lots of bamboo shoots and plenty of chicken. Leftovers for me They say the "heat" is medium and it was perfect for me. My husband had the pork red curry, which he enjoyed every bit as much as I loved the green curry. They are always so understaffed, slow, and worst of all rude! I could handle slow service, especially if you're understaffed... but the attitudes? No thank you. Located right at Main Street. This place can be easily missed as its bit farther down the strip. Thai Cafe has been at Main Street for years. The curry there is delicious. I enjoyed the red beef curry and they ask you if you would like it spicy or not. I usually order mine not spicy and it tends to be on the sweeter side. They also have a sushi bar and you can order basically any sushi you like. The waiters and staff are very courteous and don't overbear the table. Ordered from here and got bland oily pad thai that was exhausting to eat and was only finished because I was hungry and I wanted to feel like my money wasn't spent in vain. It didn't even have any peanuts in it! My boyfriends' fried rice was yellow and did not look like anything resembling fried rice. The fried tofu appetizer and california rolls were pretty decent but not stellar. This restaurant does not succeed at being a japanese or a thai restaurant. It's mock asian food that honestly tasted worse than any Pei Wei or frozen food from the ethnic aisle. I hope this restaurant gets better because it is close by where I live and the pricing is really great. Haven't had Thai food in a while and decided to walk on over to this quaint little spot that's tucked into Main Street. I came on a Thursday evening around 7pm and it was pretty empty. My boyfriend and I were seated right away and we were actually a bit overwhelmed by the size of their menu, but I guess that's expected from most casual Asian cuisine spots. We ordered Sapporo beers to drink and for appetizers we got a dragon roll, I got a wonton soup, and my boyfriend the hot and sour soup. I was really happy with my soup and my boyfriends that I was able to try out. It was steaming hot in a really tasty broth. The sushi was nothing to write home about... I have had better. For dinner I ordered the pad thai (considered a fan favorite) with chicken. It was decent, but not my favorite. I preferred my boyfriends glass noodle dish lol! Unfortunately I was too stuffed to order the Thai donuts... but I promise I will be back for them since it's my favorite dessert. Main course - Basil chicken with green peppers - more green peppers than the rest of the ingredients - ($14.00). Total: $30. It is overly priced for the poor quality of the food. I keep coming back to this place for their Thai Cafe roll; it's that good and every now and then I try something new. On my last visit I tried their sweet and sour chicken. It was not what I was expecting. I thought it was going to be fried breaded chicken with some sauce glazed on but instead it was a soupy thing with pieces of chicken that didn't have much taste. I usually get the pad Thai which is also on point. the servicing size is reasonable and I never leave hungry. Love, love, love this little hidden treasure!!! I had the shrimp Pad Thai and the seafood fried rice. The flavor in the Pad Thai wasn't as intense as I'm used to but still a great flavor. I'd imagine my opinion would change if I dined in. Comparable to other pad Thai I've had in other authentic restaurants, I would say this one is more for someone who hasn't tried Thai food before. We usually love this place but last weekend we went in and stood there waiting before anyone acknowledged us. When we were acknowledged, we sat down for about 10 minutes before leaving. I've been coming to this spot for years. It's nearby, quaint and absolutely delicious, but what holds me back from a complete 5 stars? Simple, the service. No matter the time, the day, or the scenario it's always the same. I'll be greeted, sat, and stalked till my departure. There's just something so uncomfortable about having your server circle your table repeatedly as you browse the menu that doesn't sit well with me. Every two seconds asking if I'm ready to order, yet you've yet to bring my Thai tea? It feels as if I almost can't be in complete peace since I'm on the verge of screaming "Please, just give me 5 more minutes?!?" Granted the food is 5 stars across the board. They have some of the best curry I've ever had and their rolls are always delicious, but goddamn it. You ruin it when your snatching plates off my table at an attempt to get me out so quickly. I honestly had to fight my waitress yesterday to not take my pad Thai as I wasn't completely done with the dish last night? Seriously? My waitress dropped the check as soon as she dropped out entrees and repeatedly asked as we are if we were ready to go. At this point, I was forcefully ignoring her as they still had about 30 minutes to close and we were nearing the end. When my dinner mates and I finally concluded the meal she legitimately pretended to be organizing what seems to be air at the empty table beside us. Then proceeded to keep grabbing the check once a bill was placed ontop even after being told repeatedly to give us a moment to completely finish with the tab. It was so unsettling as my boyfriend and I wondered why we don't visit here as often as we'd like and receiving the reminder at full throttle. The location is great. There are other restaurants in the area which is a great factor. It's busy but I think people don't realize that the food isn't that great. I ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai and regretted it the next day. The meal was greasy and you could see the oily liquid at the bottom. The shrimp was chewy. I took the leftovers and not even the stray cat in my neighborhood would eat it. That's tells you plenty. The service was so poor that my companion got up with his cup to pour himself the water from the pitcher. He did this three times. I was shocked. The atmosphere was more like a bar. I have always visited this restaurant and always loved it. The fish was always fresh and the sushi to die for. But yesterday it was a different story, I ordered take out and it took over an hour to be ready even though they told me that it would be ready in 25 minutes. I thought nothing of this because I figured at least it'll be fresh by the time I got home, but that wasn't the case. The crab topping on the dynamite roll was hard and lukewarm, the tuna and salmon for the seasons roll was extremely fishy to the point that I couldn't eat it without gagging.
