Tom Yum (w/ shrimp) & Yellow Curry (w/ chicken)

Have been coming to this restaurant for years and the food always hits the spot! The owners are friendly and love to make suggestions if you're unsure, but at this point I have my favorites that keep me coming back. Whether it is take out or dine in at my usual booth in the back, you can expect a clean space and consistent quality.

Never disappoints! Food was amazing and the service is always great. The server even managed to get us a freebie to try (sticky rice)! If you are downtown, that is the spot to go!

Needed a quick bite and popped into this place. Food was pretty solid but I'm giving this place 5 stars for the people inside. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the even let a guy use the restroom who wasn't a customer. Clean and comfortable inside, but again the star was the service and staff.

Went here for lunch tried a couple things Pad Thai, side of fried rice, summer rolls , wontons All the food was Good I cannot complain I didn't care for the summer rolls or wontons (just my preference) the peanut sauce was good taste almost like peanut butter the fried rice was good as well My Favorite was the pad Thai I would definitely try it again

The food was fantastic. Surprisingly i finished the entire Thai Veggie friend rice with Nam Plat... Love it. The person who came and cleaned was also a friendly person. The service was fantastic. Quick, sharp and follow the American restaurant dharma... People to remember are Paul, good Athanasian folks to notate. The ambience is downtown, so you can imagine... I was there attending one of the official works nearby in the Orange county courthouse, a Citizen duty

Visited Thai Cafe for the first time with few of my colleagues on our lunch hour this past week and wow! What a treat it was. As someone that works downtown, I will admit, I do a poor job of visiting most of the restaurants and eateries in the area that are within walking distance because I tend to go to my usual spots. I am, indeed, a creature of habit, so, I'll always opt for my tried and trusted spots over spots I have never been. However, I can full heartedly say, Thai Cafe will be added to my rotation of lunch spots. We got there just before their lunch rush hour kicked into high gear and was able to be seated right away. Our server was so sweet and attentive. Though the service did slow as the traffic picked up for lunch, the quality of service was still good - which is always a plus. As for food, I got the drunken noodles (no spice) and it was quite tasty. I should have asked for extra basil (only because I love basil in my noodle dishes). I paired it with a Thai tea and YUM!! The Thai tea was really good!! The only thing I didn't get a chance to try but will when I visit next is the mango sticky rice! I LOVE mango sticky rice and I basically ate it EVERY SINGLE DAY when I visited Bangkok and Phuket a few years ago. So, I'm looking forward to trying their sticky rice. Overall, great first experience. The restaurant was lively - as it was lunch time on a Tuesday but it has quieter moments if you prefer to avoid the waits / crowds. Prices points are AMAZING. Super budget friendly - especially for the amount of food you get. Definitely worth the visit! I'll be back for sure.

I tried this place last week on my lunch break and it's actually really good. I ordered the cheese rolls which were super yummy. It had a nice cream filling and paired well with the sweet and sour sauce . I also ordered the Thai lo mein. It was very flavorful. The only thing I wish was they had extra sauce. It was abit dry on the second day. I also liked that you can request the heat level. I will definitely be going back. I want to try their Thai tea and Thai iced coffee.

    Pad see ew with chicken

I enjoy this downtown gem! It's very close to my office so I'm able to get in before the lunch rush. The prices are fair and service is quick. I like to order the spring rolls and the pad see ew with chicken. They always bring out a ginger salad with the meal. The dressing is tasty and they sell it by the bottle. The pad see ew is a nice sized portion and cooked well. The veggies still have a crisp crunch and the noodles and perfectly tender. The sauce is savory and not too salty. I order it mild but they can add spice to the order like other Thai restaurants. The chicken is never dry. I've never had to park here, but there are garages and street parking near by.

Awesome price, perfect serving size and wonderful taste. I have been looking for a good Thai place like this one, for a lonnngg time and now I don't have to look any further! The customer service was helpful. I have a shellfish allergy so usually I will have some sort of symptoms after the drunken noodle due to the oyster sauce ingredient. I voiced this and was able to switch it for mushroom sauce. I would have never known of this option if it wasn't for the representative. Will definitely be going back!

Wanted to find a new Thai place for lunch, then we discovered this place from online. Great little cozy, family run restaurant. 1st thing we took notice from the moment we arrived is, "THE PLACE IS PACKED!!", with only local & repeat business, great sign! After 15 minutes wait, we got seated, ordered Thai Tea & Thai Coffee, Tom Yum Soup, and Fried Tofu to start. Then the Peanut Chicken, and Thai Basil Combo Fried Rice for main entrees. Foods & drinks overall were good! What we really appreciated is that we got our starters 1st, and the main dishes didn't come till starters were finished. Nice move!! Thank you for not rushing, and bringing everything together like many other places do. Suggestion, please go lighter on the salty taste (Tom Yum Soup & Fried Rice), and less sweet on the Pad Thai sauce.

What in the "Simply irresistible" is going on in that kitchen!!! Every single thing was delicious. This is my new favorite restaurant. All of the food was fresh and perfectly seasoned. The staff were amazing, and gave suggestions that were spot on. Atmosphere: 9 Quality: 10 Quantity:10 Service: 10 Convince of parking: 4 I suggest coming in the evening to avoid the lunch crowd. All of our food and drinks were brought out at a great pace. Definitely enough to share or bring home

First timer there, good entre' (Panang curry) - - little too much peanut dressing on the salad, though or would've been a 5 star

If you are in the area and you want authentic Thai food, Thai Thani is worth the try! You will enter into a welcoming space that makes you feel like you've been transported to Asia. The decoration is lovely! Staff is super friendly. The food is delicious and great quality. Their menu is pretty huge, so there is something for everyone. I love their appetizers, and at this point I've about had everything from that section. My usual order is either a fried rice of some sort or the chicken and shrimp pad Thai. The dishes are boasting with flavors! The one star they are missing is how hit or miss their to go/Ubereats can be. Some days I'm satisfied with how everything is while other days it can fall just slightly short. That's my only request is to ensure a good experience with every to go/ubereats.

For my entrée, I had the beef pad kee mow--flat rice noodles with bell peppers, Thai basil, chili, and their signature spicy wok sauce. It was flavorful, spicy, and absolutely delicious! My colleague had the shrimp pad kra plow with Thai basil, chili, bell peppers, and rice, and loved it as well. Of course, we had to finish with the mango sticky rice, which was the perfect dessert. Everything was delicious, and the service was superb! The restaurant is also very nicely decorated, making it a great atmosphere for lunch or dinner. One thing to note: parking can be a little tricky. I parked in the parking structure behind the restaurant, which worked out well. Overall, a fantastic meal and a great experience. I'll definitely be back!

To eat, we started by splitting the chor muang dumplings. These were gorgeous purple dumplings, but I found that their flavor was very delicate. The wrapper was somehow both gummy and overly delicate and broke. They were okay, but definitely more of an aesthetic dish. Next, we got one of the specials, which was a small tart shell filled with raw tuna. This was good, but I felt that the sauce overpowered the delicate fish. For mains, I ended up ordering the kor moo yang (pork jowel). This was the star of the show, it was super tender and flavorful. The relish was barely necessary to be honest. I'd definitely order this again, or get it as an appetizer to split with a few people before the main. To drink, I was really surprised that none of their cocktails were modifiable considering that they have a full bar. They didn't have any cocktails that were speaking to me, so I ended up ordering a zero proof drink, the honey's passion, with a shot of vodka on the side to spike it. This was a good solution. I would probably not go to talay again for food because there are so many good Thai places here, and the food just didn't stand out, but I'd definitely hit the bar for some drinks if I had more time.
