Met an old buddy here for dinner. The restaurant closes at 8:30pm so watch the time. I ordered the Pra Rham. First time here, I opted for the spiciness at level 5 (0 to 5 with 5 being the hottest). Now I can handle hot & spicy food pretty good. I've had way spicier food than this, before, but their level 5 is definitely hot. No sweating, but I definitely had a little bit of a nose run. Plenty of food on my plate...I doggie bagged half of my order. Service was pretty good and they do serve beer. Located on a corner, there was plenty of parking available. I also noticed that there were a lot of customers coming in to pick up call-in orders. Moderate prices, but you get 10% off if you pay cash. Our attorney, Mike Menlove, is across the street and he was preparing paperwork for our signature. We were STARVING and asked if there was a good place to eat within walking distance. Ok...I just had a sugar rush. Yes, my Chow mein chicken was so sweet I couldn't even finish it. I've never experienced Thai food so sweet. The pro's.... This place is nicely decorated and very clean. Service was very nice and fast. It didn't take very long to get our order. Beautiful presentation of food.... however, the sugar rush just ruined it for me. The cons...... My hubby's dish was ok and it had a good level of spice, but my Chow mein was way too sweet with no spice at all. Very bland. The limited veggies in the dish were over cooked and over soaked in sugar sauce. I felt like I had to run home and brush my teeth before I got a cavity or something. The eggs rolls were just filled with shredded cabbage and that's it. Nothing more....Nothing less. No taste at all except for cabbage....or was it shredded lettuce? We were in Prescott for a memorial service and of course, I had to see if Prescott could offer us some Thai food. Thai Cafe did not disappoint. Local, friendly place. Right away we were asked about beverage choices. We ordered our food pretty quickly, as I had checked out the menu before we'd arrived. Crispy rolls (not pictured) were hot, really crispy. I did order Pad Thai with chicken to go. The two items ordered, was enough food to feed an army! I did ask the server if they had any extra fresh Thai chilis and she said no. So, I had to have Sambal Oelek. On the heat scale, we got 4, so the hubs could eat. Definitely not hot enough for me. Thai Fried rice was okay. I don't think I would order it again. Yellow Curry was on point! The Pad Thai was good. A little soggy, because it was "leftover." While we were there, there was a LOT of foot traffic coming in for the "to go" orders. I needed some Thai food after a few days on the road. I stopped in here and was pleasantly surprised that they had my favorite Thai seafood soup on the menu. It was good but some of the ingredients weren't the freshest. Thai iced tea was very good. I will stop in here again and give them another try because flavor and presentation were good but I will write a bad review next time for the same dry, stringy veggies and tough scallops. read more

Having checked out the reviews for the Thai places in Prescott, we were less than impressed, so we decided to venture into Prescott Valley--and did not regret it; Thai Cafe rocked. Don't be fooled by its humble exterior. The food is quality, and the inside is attractive and pleasantly dim. We got veggie fresh rolls as a starter. For entrees, I ordered pad see ew with extra tofu, and my dining companion had pad kee mao with beef. All dishes were superb. Fresh rolls were larger than average and the veggies delightfully crisp. They don't come with peanut sauce but rather a thick savory brown sauce with crushed peanut as a garnish--so I requested peanut sauce on the side. Both sauces were good and imparted tons of flavor to the salad-like rolls. My pad see ew was all that I'd wanted and more. The portion was very generous--I was able to pack some to go--and the noodles and veggies were cooked perfectly. There was plenty of tofu--so much that the noodles were obscured by the mound of crispy goodness. Often, when I order extra, there is not in fact any more than a normal serving, but this was not so here. Plates are nicely presented as well, with fresh herbs and slices of orange. My dining companion said his pad kee mao was excellent, and subsequently devoured the entire plate. Service was attentive and friendly. They refilled my water several times, often before it was halfway empty. And they were happy to bring me the chopsticks and red chili sauce I asked for. Prices weren't terrible either. Tried a couple Thai restaurants in the area and this is by far our favorite. The food is very flavorful and they are spot on with our requested level of spiciness. I love the pork spicy fried rice and the House Noodle soup. Their curries are equally excellent. I always look forward to trying something new on their menu because I'm never disappointed.
